All bets on the crash are that the plane was overloaded. The 787 has warning systems to prevent a takeoff without flaps as Boeing learned after the crash of Delta 727 in DFW.

From previous experience from flying out of Mumbai in the early 2000's, the cargo loaders were caught selling cargo space on the black marketers for extra cash. We often took off overweight unknowingly several times rotating the aircraft at the end of the runway trying to get airborne. After several instances, we requested a load audit on landing and found un-registered cargo on board and caught the black market schemers. 10-1 it was over loaded… My opinion.

Also, an aircraft can takeoff in ground effect overweight but it will stall just as was depicted on video. We wait for that data recorder to verify.
