Dear MAGA: It's Time to Call Out Trump's Warmongering—Blind Patriotism Is Not Patriotism at All
History is watching, and anyone supporting this push toward war is on the wrong side
Once branded the "antiwar" candidate, Donald Trump is now openly cheering on Israel’s deadly escalation against Iran — and even Tucker Carlson is calling it what it is: a betrayal. If anyone is still under the illusion that Trump is here to stop endless wars, it’s time to take off the MAGA blinders.
In a recent post on Truth Social, Trump bragged about how Israel was using “the best and most lethal military equipment anywhere in the World, BY FAR” — a reference to U.S.-supplied weapons that helped launch a deadly series of Israeli strikes on Iran, killing senior Iranian military leaders. Iran has since retaliated, and now the world sits on the edge of an all-out regional war — with the U.S. deeply implicated.
Former Trump ally Tucker Carlson is sounding the alarm, writing that “Washington knew these attacks would happen. They aided Israel in carrying them out.” Carlson minced no words, stating bluntly: “Trump is complicit.”
Tucker didn’t stop there. In his newsletter titled This Could Be the Final Newsletter Before All-Out War, he warned of the familiar neocon script now playing out again — only this time with MAGA voices like Mark Levin cheerleading from the sidelines, demanding war with Iran based on the same tired lie about nuclear weapons. “There is zero credible intelligence that suggests Iran is anywhere near building a bomb,” Carlson wrote. “None. Anyone who claims otherwise is ignorant or dishonest.”
Yet here we are again. Another administration, another chorus of Washington war-pigs banging the drums — with Trump, the former peace candidate, leading the parade.
Let’s be clear: a war with Iran won’t be another Libya or Iraq. As Carlson noted, Iran is aligned with BRICS, armed with ballistic missiles, and backed by serious allies. This wouldn’t be a “surgical strike.” It would be a catastrophe. It would kill thousands of Americans, crater the economy, and possibly ignite a third world war. And yet, Trump brags while Israel bombs.
Where are the liberals now? The same people who claimed Trump was going to start World War III over a tweet are suspiciously quiet as Biden’s foreign policy and Trump's current rhetoric converge in dangerous and bipartisan fashion. Funny how the party of peace goes mute when their own roadmap to Tehran is being followed — just under a red hat instead of a blue one.
This war talk isn’t new. Plans for conflict with Iran have been simmering for decades. Trump may have campaigned as an outsider, but his latest support for this escalation puts him right in line with the same military-industrial complex he once railed against.
Even Mollie Hemingway from The Federalist warned that giving Israel the green light for these attacks would be “an unforgivable betrayal.” She’s right. This isn’t leadership — it’s servitude to a foreign agenda that’s dragging Americans into another unnecessary war.
You don’t have to support the Iranian regime to recognize that launching another regime change war in the Middle East is national suicide. And you certainly don’t have to be a leftist to demand consistency from a man who once ran on “America First.”
But here’s the saddest part of it all: even as Trump marches in lockstep with the very neocon warhawks he once denounced, many of his most loyal followers will still be out there waving flags, chanting “USA! USA!,” and begging for war. They’ll cheer blindly as our sons and daughters, our brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers are sent off to die in a conflict their so-called antiwar president swore he’d never start.
The bottom line? Trump isn’t ending wars — he’s prolonging and provoking them. And anyone still cheering him on while he helps fuel this disaster will one day have to answer for what comes next.
