Now if we can finally get our VA/DOD to give real and proper disability compensation and proper care after years long fights, living on the edge of poverty, oftentimes up until the point of death in a hopeless situation.

Confusing bureaucracy, red tape, convoluted processes, discouraging wait times

and far off much needed appointments.

Firmly cemented lifelong govt employees hardened and no longer caring

just getting a paycheck and having no incentive to give it their all for those

who gave all. A very unfortunate circumstance is there are many of those who

are veterans themselves.

If they care about those who serve, they will put their money where their mouths are. Or will the decades long struggle continue?

Go to the veterans forums and witness the struggles. The literal finagling the system just to get a portion of what you deserve.

Go to the VA websites to see the convoluted rigmarole to navigate to get the simplest of things done.

Look at the compensation rates for things that not only make you disabled from service but also extremely limited from doing the most simple jobs once

released from service.

Not to be foolish, there are many who are gaming the system to get what they

do not deserve as well, to be fair.

Real reform will only come when top down reform, auditing and the people demand their sons and daughters are well taken care of. The civilian sector

has a hard time connecting to what is well hidden and therefore creates a

significant disconnect from being truly invested in the defense of the nation

so they can sleep well at night.

Story upon story are those affected by this unreassuringly sad scenario.

One can only hope (and I for one am very hopeful) that this new administration

is not just talk and that this 'Golden Age' of America will see this happen.
