Suspected Ukrainian agent accused of assassination plot – Moscow
The alleged bomber tried to kill a local official in Russia’s Kherson Region, FSB security agency has said
A Russian citizen residing in the country’s Kherson Regionhas been charged with terrorism for allegedly plotting to assassinate a local official on behalf of Kiev, the Federal Security Service(FSB) said on Monday.
The man, who was not publicly named but is said to be in his early 50s,was allegedly instructed to plant a home-made explosive device beneath a vehicle used by the target. The bomb, reportedly packed with metal washers to increase lethality, was shown in a photo the FSB released with its statement.
According to the agency, the suspect confessed to having been recruited by Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) last August. He expressed remorse for his role in the attempted bombing, which could carry a life sentence if he is convicted.
The official targeted in the plot serves in the Gornostaevka municipality, located along the Dnieper River east of Kakhovka, where a now-disabled eponymous dam once stood. Residents of Kherson Region voted to join Russia in late 2022 in a referendum Kiev denounced as illegitimate and vowed to reverse.
Following the 2014 Western-backed armed coup in Kiev,Ukrainian authorities launched a targeted killing program aimed at individuals deemed enemies of the state. Initially, intelligence services focused on figures in the Donbass Region who rejected the post-coup government and sought independence from Kiev.
Since the outbreak of full-scale hostilities with Russia in 2022, the program’s scope has widened to include suspected collaborators and public figures accused of supporting Moscow.
Those believed to have been targeted by such operations include Russian journalist Darya Dugina, who was killed in a car bombing in August 2022; former Ukrainian lawmaker Ilya Kiva, shot dead in Russia in December 2023; and Russian politician Zakhar Prilepin, who survived a car bomb attack in May 2023 that killed his driver.

Russia has banned propaganda promoting same-sex relations but has never sought to outlaw homosexuality itself, according to President Vladimir Putin.
In 2023, the Russian Supreme Court declared the “international LGBT movement” to be an extremist organization.
“We have only discussed a ban on propaganda. We have never spoken about banning non-traditional relationships. Moreover, we have always maintained that all people are equal,”Putin said in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin released on Sunday.“Adults have the right to live as they choose.”
Putin emphasized that he backed the2013 law banning “LGBTQ propaganda” for minorsbecause he believed that “Western mainstream ideology was being injected into the minds of the Russian people.” In 2022, the law was expanded to include adults.
Although Russia is ethnically and religiously diverse,the majority “shares common core beliefs about morality,” Putin said. “If we stop upholding our traditional values, Russia will lose its identity and, as a consequence, its statehood — which is extremely dangerous,” he added.
“So-called global liberalism has outlived itself and transformed into a form of totalitarianism,”Putin said, arguing that many people in Western Europe and North America share his views.
“I hope that our open, honest, and clear position on these issues ==has emboldened like-minded people in the US and other countries=,” he said.

Iran to roll back cooperation with UN nuclear watchdog
Tehran has accused the IAEA of failing to condemn Israeli strikes
Tehran will limit its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) over what it has called the organization’s “silence” regarding Israeli strikes, according to Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi.
Israeli jets bombed nuclear and military facilities in Iranon Friday morning in what West Jerusalem described as an operation to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
Iran, which denies having a military nuclear program, responded by saying the bombing was tantamount to a declaration of war and launched its own strikes against Israel.Tehran also suspended nuclear negotiations with the US; the next round had originally been scheduled for Sunday.
“We have decided that, from now on, we will no longer announce the details of our nuclear activities to the Agency in advance. This is part of a review of the level of our cooperation, which will no longer be the same as before,”Gharibabadi told SNN on Saturday.
“We have always maintained the most transparent peaceful nuclear program, but when the Agency and its Board of Governors remain silent in the face of Israeli aggression or issue resolutions influenced by political pressure, we can no longer maintain the same level of cooperation,” he added.
Without directly blaming Israel, the IAEA released a statement on Friday stressing that attacks on civilian nuclear sites are illegal under international law and called for dialogue.
The international watchdog had previously reported finding uranium traces at locations Iran had not declared as nuclear sites and, on Thursday, formally accused the Islamic Republic of breaching its non-proliferation obligations. Tehran has rejected the allegations as politically motivated.

The UN IAEA has never admitted that the constant attacks on Nuclear station in Ukraine, is still being attacked by Ukraine. The station was taken over by Russia in 2022, for protection from Ukraine, and it is still being attacked by Ukraine. Russia is trying to stop Kiev from creating a nuclear disaster.

Israel asked US to join Iran attack – Axios
West Jerusalem has requested assistance targeting the Fordow nuclear site, according to the outlet
West Jerusalem has asked the White House to take part in its military campaign against Iran in order to eliminate Tehran’s nuclear program, according to two Israeli officials cited by Axios.
Several above-ground facilities in Iran, including sites in Natanz and Esfahan, were destroyed in recent Israeli strikes, according to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director-General Rafael Grossi.
Israel described the operation as a preemptive move to prevent Tehran from developing a nuclear weapon – Iran has consistently denied that it has any intention to do so.
Grossi said the Iranian government had also informed him that the Fordow enrichment plant near the city of Qom, a heavily fortified site built deep inside a mountain, was targeted, but there are no indications that the site sustained significant damage.
According to Axios, Israel lacks the bunker-busting bombs and long-range bomber aircraft required to destroy Fordow. The US, however, possesses both and operates forces within range of Iran.
Israeli officials reportedly believe that if Fordow remains operational after the operation ends, West Jerusalem’s mission to eliminate Iran’s nuclear program will have failed.
An Israeli official told Axios the US might participate in the campaign and said President Donald Trump had indicated during a recent call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he would consider it “if necessary.” The White House has denied this claim.
A second American official confirmed that Israel had requested US involvement but said the Trump administration is not considering it.
Washington has reportedly distanced itself from the operation, while warning that even a limited strike could draw the US into the war. White House officials have argued that it would be illegitimate for Iran to retaliate against American forces.
A senior US official told the outlet that while the Israeli attacks could not be prevented, a peaceful resolution remains possible. “We have the ability to negotiate a successful, peaceful resolution to this conflict if Iran is willing,” the source said.“The fastest way for Iran to accomplish peace is to give up its nuclear weapons program.”
Nuclear talks between Tehran and Washington began in April, with Trump warning of military consequences if diplomacy failed.
On Saturday, Tehran cancelled a sixth round of negotiations scheduled in Oman. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said talks would not resume until Israeli strikes come to an end.
Earlier on Saturday, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart held a 50-minute phone call to discuss the situation in the Middle East.The two leaders reportedly agreed on the possibility of restarting negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program.

Trump orders ‘largest mass deportation in history’
The US president has urged ICE agents to focus on Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and other Democratic strongholds
US President Donald Trump has instructed federal agents to dramatically ramp up deportations of illegal migrants from Democrat-led cities after riots swept Los Angeles.
In a post on his Truth Social platform on Sunday evening,Trump instructed Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to “achieve the very important goal of delivering the single largest Mass Deportation Program in History.”
“In order to achieve this, we must expand efforts to detain and deport Illegal Aliens in America’s largest Cities, such as Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York,where Millions upon Millions of Illegal Aliens reside,” he added.
Trump went on to claim that theDemocrats are using illegal migrantsto “expand their Voter Base, cheat in Elections, and grow the Welfare State, robbing good paying Jobs and Benefits from Hardworking American Citizens.”
Many Democratic strongholds, including Los Angeles and Chicago, are restricting their cooperation with federal immigration agents under their sanctuary laws – policies Trump and the Republicans have long opposed.
California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass have condemned Trump’s decision to deploy the National Guard and active-duty Marines to help quell the unrest sparked last week by ICE raids. Newsom argued that the move was unlawful and sued Trump and the Pentagon.
“Donald Trump is creating fear and terror by failing to adhere to the US Constitution and overstepping his authority,” the governor said.
A curfew has been imposed on parts of downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday following days of looting, vandalism, and clashes with police.
During his election campaign, Trump vowed to undo what he described as “open border”policies under his predecessor, Joe Biden, who oversaw the influx of migrants across the border with Mexico.

US Republicans investigating California governor and LA mayor over riots
The House Oversight Committee has accused the two Democrats of “falsely” claiming they had the situation under control
The US House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform has begun an investigation into riots in California that have followed a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raid on illegal migrants. Committee members are accusing Governor Gavin Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass of inaction and obstructing federal attempts to manage the unrest.
The protests that erupted last week quickly devolved into riots, with participants torching police cars and US flags, blocking highways, and clashing with law enforcement officers. The latter have responded with tear gas and rubber bullets, with hundreds of arrests, as well as multiple injuries on both sides reported.
The start of the probe was announced in a press release by the US House Oversight Committee on Friday.
Chairman James Comer and Clay Higgins, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Federal Law Enforcement, both Republicans, sent letters to Newsom and Bass,requesting that they hand over “documents and communications” dated June 1, 2025 and later, relevant to the ongoing riots and the state authorities’ response to them.
The letters also accused the two Democrats offalsely claiming that “state and local law enforcement had protests under control” and of“falsely blaming” President Donald Trump “for the actions of violent rioters.”
Newsom previously sued the Trump administration over its decision to deploy the National Guard to California. On Thursday, a US district judge ruled the move illegal, only for a Court of Appeals to issue a temporary injunction against that ruling hours later.For now, the National Guard remains under Trump’s control, and not that of the state authorities, until a hearing on Tuesday.
Responding to the committee’s request, Governor Newsom’s press office said in a post on X on Saturday that the records requested “will include some highly unusual communications from the White House.”
“We’re good with transparency. Will the White House say the same?” the message added.
In an acrimonious exchange throughout the week, Newsom described Trump’s decision to deploy the National Guard as a “step toward authoritarianism” and a “serious breach of state sovereignty.”
Trump, in turn,urged the “grossly incompetent”California governor to “get his act together” and to “apologize… for the absolutely horrible job”he has allegedly done.
The US president also suggested he would back a proposal by White House border czar Tom Homan to have Newsom arrested for allegedly obstructing federal immigration enforcement efforts.
(The House Committee should investigate where and how Newsom has so much money, and he theft of many monetary programs sent be the Federal Government, that never end up in a solution. He stole millions from the Covid unemployment money in 2020.)

If watching news coverage of California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s melodramatic remarks on Tuesday night is giving you deja vu, you’re not alone. It really is exactly like what the dying media tried doing with Kamala Harris last year.
Newsom’s eight-minute, technical-glitch-ridden speech could have been about his administration’s efforts to quell the violent and destructive riotsrocking his state since Friday, or it could have been about measures to cooperate with the White House to make illegal alien deportations more orderly, but that would have been productive. Instead, the governor —perpetually in vocal fry — titled his speech “Democracy at a Crossroads” and bemoaned the federal agents engaged in law enforcement and President Trump for, as Newsom put it, “traumatizing our communities.” And, of course, he said it was all a threat to democracy.
“Democracy is under assault right before our eyes,” Newsom said. “The moment we’ve feared has arrived. He’s taking a wrecking ball to our founding fathers’ historic project.”
Other nauseating lines from Newsom’s speech:
— “He’s delegitimizing news organizations and assaulting the First Amendment.”
— “At the threat of defunding them, he’s dictating what universities can teach.”
— “Targeting law firms and the judicial branch that are the foundation of an orderly, civil society.”
— “The rule of law has increasingly given way to the rule of Don.”

If I told you any of Newsom’s remarks were from some Kamala 2024 campaign speech, you’d have no doubt.It’s the exact type of corny, delusional, patronizing rot she regurgitated for months. Thinking it was over turned out to be a mistake. Democrats and the media are ready to microwave the same strategy in 2028 — except with a white man instead of a somewhat black woman.
The New York Times said it was “hard to watch the speech … and not wonder if the 2028 campaign had already begun.” Meidas Touch, the popular “resistance” account on X, called Newsom’s remarks “powerful and urgent” (the account’s post of the speech garnered half a million views).Fire-breathing Democrat Ana Navarro nearly collapsed into a wet mess over Newsom’s display. “I have been so thirsty,” she said on CNN, “for somebody that is not cowardly, bending the knee and selling out to Donald Trump as he does all of this to America.”
I know an effective speech when I see one. And I mean genuinely effective, as in with nonpartisan voters, and not just whatever quenches Ana Navarro’s thirst. Democrat Sen. Elissa Slotkin from Michigan delivered a very good rebuttal speech to President Trump’s address to Congress in March (though it was good precisely because she largely stayed away from the mind-numbing content Newsom was blurting).What Newsom did was not that, and I’m not convinced even partisan Democrats outside of the media cared for it.
They heard all of it in the last election. And they lost. True, Newsom is white and he’s a man and that distinguishes him from Kamala Harris,but he’s otherwise essentially the same person.
Kamala didn’t believe anything, which is why she took the opposite side of all of her major positions three months ahead of the election. Newsom doesn’t believe anything, which is why he’ll attempt to do the same if he’s able to secure the Democrat nomination.
Newsom is 2024 all over again.

CA Judge Stops Trump Admin From Firing Internet Speech Police

Secretary of State Marco Rubio declared in April that the Counter Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference hub (R-FIMI) was dead.But, because of legal interference, it turns out that for now, R-FIMI, formerly called the Global Engagement Center (GEC), is only mostly dead.
Through the miraculous powers of an activist judge, San Francisco’s Senior District Judge Susan Illston ordered Friday that theTrump Administration must not dismantle R-FIMI, the creepy censorship arm within the Department of State that curtails free speech.
The argument continues over whether the president has the authority to reorganize the federal workplaceand trim excess employees or if only unelected local judges have that authority for the entire nation.
In her June 13 order, Illston said the State Department’s planned employee separations from R-FIMI are prohibited by a previous injunction,and if the State Department plans any other similar actions, it better check with Judge Illston first.
“If the State Department has any question about whether planned actions fall within the scope of the Court’s injunction, the Court ORDERS the Department to first raise those questions with the Court before taking action,” Illston wrote.
President Donald Trump issued Executive Order 14210 in February, announcing large-scale reductions in force (RIFs) across the administration and directed agency heads to prepare for the RIFs in the Office of Personnel Management, Office of Management and Budget, plus the departments of Agriculture, Energy, Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, Interior, Labor, Treasury, Transportation, Veterans Affairs, AmeriCorps, Environmental Protection Agency, General Services Administration, National Labor Relations Board, National Science Foundation, Small Business Administration, Social Security Administration, and the Department of State.
In May, Illston issued a preliminary injunction preventing the administration from reorganizingand cutting staff at these government agencies. That was in response to a lawsuit brought by federal union employees connected to the American Federation of Government Employees and the AFL-CIO.
Rubio made the case that the State Department is not subject to the injunction and planned to move forward with cutting employees and sunsetting R-FIMI, until Illston’s order put that on pause.
Funded at $50 million a year, R-FIMI is a 2016 creation of former President Barack Obama, who convinced the public it was needed to find and stop foreign, especially Russian, disinformation.It helped grease the wheels of the Russian election interference hoax that marred Trump’ first term.The agency was used instead to pressure tech companies to meddle in the 2020 election, as The Federalist’s Shawn Fleetwood previously reported.
