Report: Trump Relays to Mid-East Allies, U.S Will Not Engage Iran Unless They Target Americans

June 16, 2025 | Sundance |

Sometimes a media report from “sources familiar with the matter”does actually track with the way President Trump’s doctrineis seen. This is one of those times.

According to Axios,White House officials have directly relayed to mid-east friends that President Trumphas no intention of using U.S. military resources to target Iran, unless the Iranian regime does something stupid like target Americans.

It is easy to imagine this type of relay was made by President Trump to Saudi Arabia (MbS), Qatar (Muslim Brotherhood) and/or Jordan (King Abdullah II),with the full intention of the message reaching Iranian govt officials.

[AXIOS] The big picture: The U.S. has helped Israel intercept missiles, but made clear Israel is acting alone in attacking Iran. The U.S. message is that if Iran attacks Americans in response, it will be crossing a red line.

The intrigue:The U.S. sent a similar message to the same countries aboutan hour between Israel launchedthe war last Thursday, telling them the U.S. would not participate.

In both cases, the U.S.seemed to expect the countries to pass that message to Iranto discourage any retaliation against U.S. forces or interests in the region.

The White House didn’t respond to a request for comment.

Between the lines: While Iranian leaders have accused the U.S. of complicity in Israel’s war effort, and threatened for weeks to respond to any Israeli attack by targeting U.S. bases in the region,no such attacks have taken place. (more)

Overall this type ofmessage from President Trump tracks exactly with the careful geopolitical efforthe and Secretary Rubio are working throughout this conflict.

Indeed, if you read the statement from President Trump about his hour-long conversation with Russian President Putin after the Israeli strikes began, you can see a similar pattern.

You don’t really have to analyze President Trump very much to understand where his thinking is at any moment. The Trump Doctrine is not complicated. We only need to read, listen and accept things as they are.

Scoop: U.S. tells allies it won't join war unless Iran targets Americans 1/2

Barak Ravid

The Trump administration told several Middle Eastern allies on Sunday that it doesn't plan to get actively involved in the war between Israel-and Iran unless Iran targets Americans, two sources from countries that received that U.S. message tell Axios.

The big picture:The U.S. has helped Israel intercept missiles, but made clear Israel is acting alone in attacking Iran. The U.S. message is that if Iran attacks Americans in response, it will be crossing a red line.

The intrigue: The U.S. sent a similar message to the same countries about an hour before Israel launched the war last Thursday, telling them the U.S. would not participate.

In both cases, the U.S. seemed to expect the countries to pass that message to Iran to discourage any retaliation against U.S. forcesor interests in the region.

• The White House didn't respond to a request for comment.

Between the lines:While Iranian leaders have accused the U.S. of complicity in Israel's war effort, and threatened for weeks to respond to any Israeli attack by targeting U.S. bases in the region, no such attacks have taken place.

• "TheIranians are very careful so far not to do anything that can push the U.S. to get involved," an Arab diplomat with direct knowledge of the thinking in Tehran said.

Friction point: Israel has asked the Trump administration to join the war in order to eliminate Iran's nuclear program. A U.S. official told Axios on Saturday that the Trump administration was not actively considering it.

•U.S. officials also claimed that over the weekend, Israel had an operational window to assassinate Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, but President Trump made clear to Israel that he opposed that step.

• A U.S. official saidthat was because the Iranians haven't killed Americans— a statement Israeli officials saw as a threat to Iran that if Americans are targeted, the Trump administration could support killing Khamenei.

• Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told ABC News on Monday that killing Khamenei would "end the war," and was still a possibility.

(Netanyahu did everything he could to drag Trump and America into his new endless war==

2/2

State of play:Trump demurred Monday when asked whether the U.S. could join the war. But while the U.S. is stating in public and in private that it's not getting involved, the U.S. military is taking steps to prepare for such a contingency.

• The Nimitz aircraft carrier strike group is moving to the Middle East, and 28 strategic refueling planes left the U.S. on Sunday for the region.

• Netanyahu said in a press conference on Monday that he speaks to Trump almost every day, including on Sunday.

• He said he appreciates U.S. assistance in defeating Iranian attacks but stressed that President Trump will do what he thinks is best for America. "We will welcome any U.S. contribution," he said.

• In the ABC interview, Netanyahu said that Trump and the American people understand the need to "take a stand against evil." He said: "Look, I understand 'America First.' I don't understand 'America Dead.' That's what these people want."(still an evil statement)

What to watch: Trump said on Monday during a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney at the G7 summit that the Iranians want to talk to the U.S. about the situation.

• "They should have done that before. They had 60 days and on the 61st day I said, 'We don't have a deal.' Iran is not winning this war they should talk immediately before it is too late," Trump said.

An Arab diplomat said the Iranians have communicated to the U.S. that they will be willing to discuss a ceasefire and resume nuclear talks after they conclude their retaliation and after Israel stops its strikes.

• Israeli officials say they've received no indications Iran wants a ceasefire and stressed that Israel isn't interested in a ceasefire at the moment because it hasn't achieved the aims of destroying Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile programs.

I suspect after this Bibi will be on his own, trying in every snaky way to drag the U.S. into his vendetta. Bibi provided NO PROOF that Iran had weapons and plans for the next 20 years. Since when do you go to war without providing proof. He tried hard to drag the world into his private war.

U.S. President Trump and U.K Prime Minister Starmer finished signing the details of the U.S-U.K trade agreement on heavy industry, aerospace, car tariffs and automobile trade. Both Trump and Starmer delivered remarks to the assembled press pool prior to answering questions.

The media were full of questions for President Trump about the latest developments in the Israel-Iran conflict. President Trump noted he needs to conclude the commitments on his schedule before he can engage in Iranian negotiations.

The British media, maintaining their longstanding history against the Russian Federation, are worried that President Trump might like Russia and or even agree with Russian perspectives. To the British press this possibility gives them the vapors.President Trump tries to intercept the U.K fainting by reminding the Brits the goal is to “stop death” at a rate of 5,000 young lives per week. President Trump Delivers Remarks With Prime Minister Mark Carney at Beginning of G7 Assembly

June 16, 2025 | Sundance |

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney welcomes President Donald Trump at the beginning of the working sessions for the G7 assembly in Canada.

During the press availability President Trump notes the G7 used to be the G8, however following the Crimea referendum and President Putin’s response to accept the outcome of the vote, the NATO alliance led by President Barack Obama took Russia out of the group. President Trump says he “agreed” with Putin’s reaction to the decision.

The G7 speak about Russia consistently at almost every meeting, without a willingness to listen to the voice or opinion of Russia in context to their protestations. Quite simply it is easier for Italy, Canada, the U.K, France, Germany, Japan and the USA to exist inside an echo-chamber without having their multilateral arguments challenged.President Trump does not fear the debate of ideas with Russia present in the room, another point of distinction between Trump and the assembly.

Wrong is wrong even if everybody does it; and right is right even if nobody does it.It takes strong confidence to assert a position counter to popular opinion, this is what makes President Donald Trump a transformative political influence.

In the background, President Vladimir Putin is undoubtedly paying attention.

Also, read carefully what President of the European Council António Costa said today:

CANADA – […] European Commission boss Ursula von der Leyen and President of the European Council António Costa on Sundayboth urged Trump to stop hurting the global economy with tariffs.

“Let’s keep trade between us fair, predictable and open. All of us need to avoid protectionist measures — this is an important message that the G7 can send to the markets and to the world,” von der Leyen told reporters, speaking alongside Costa at the first press conference of the G7 leaders’ meeting in Canada.

Calling for “a frank discussion among the G7 partners, restoring a sense of stability and predictability among ourselves,” von der Leyen stressed Brussels was still negotiating a trade truce with Washington.

Costa said the EU can’t increase defense spending, as Trump wants it to, if it has to fight a trade war at the same time.” (link)

A parasitic statement if there ever was one.

Put another way, the EU threatens that President Trump will not be able to lessen USA military spending from NATO, if he simultaneously demands reciprocal trade rules from NATO countries.

Insufferable is an understatement.

(They really underestimate who and Why Trump is the Beloved President he is; he ignores their arrogance and lets them be stupid by threatening him and the U.S. they basically dug their grave by saying they can’t contribute to NATO if the have more tariffs. Thats fine they made their choice. My guess is U.S. NATO troops will be withdrawn at a rapid pace from Europe. Maybe they will find the money now and not give Kiev the $83 billion they promised. These people do not understand Trump is never embarrassed! But they are.)
