On June 9th, he drove his truck downtown with an unidentified woman, to have out large quantities of faceshields to individuals who appear to be engaged in violence and vandalism…these faceshields are designed to protect from chemical splashes and flying debris, which helps protect violent agitators from less than lethal weapons deployed by law enforcement…he has been charged with a violation of 18 United States Code Section 371, Conspiracy To Commit Civil Disorder, and 18 United States Code Sections 231a3, and [a]2, Aiding And Abetting In Civil Disorders. Each of those charges carries a five year statutory maximum sentence.

U.S. Attorney Essayli: On June 8th, our Highway Patrol Officers were violently, viciously attacked, by individuals from an overpass above the 101 Freeway, throwing rocks and explosive devices, and lighting CHP cars on fire. On Friday, federal agents and the CHP arrested Mr. Adam Charles Palermo…charged with a violation of 18 United States Code Section 844i, Attempted Arson Of A Vehicle Used In Interstate Or Foreign Commerce. He faces a mandatory minimum penalty of five years, and a statutory maximum penalty of twenty years.

Reporter: There's some thirty or forty different organizations that claim they are in, "solidarity with the protests". Are you looking to see if these people are providing the people who were arrested, or others, with funding to actually promote these protests, or actually commit these criminal acts?
