Trump eyeing intervention in conflict against Iran – media

Earlier in the day, the president boasted that US jets had unchallenged primacy in Iranian airspace

President Donald Trump is seriously considering getting the US directly involved in Israel’s conflict with Iran as he meets with his national security team on Tuesday, multiple media outlets have reported.

The president has lauded the Israeli bombing campaign against Iran’s nuclear facilitiesbut has so far held off on joining offensive operations, opting instead to use US military assets to help West Jerusalem shoot down Iranian missiles and drones.

Ahead of a national security meeting in the White House Situation Room to discuss the escalating Middle East conflict,Trump was considering entering the US into the fray, Axios and CBS News wrote on Tuesday.

“Trump was seriously considering joining the war and launching a US strike against Iran's nuclear facilities, especially its underground uranium enrichment facility in Fordow,” Axios wrote, citing three anonymous officials.

West Jerusalem believes the US will “enter the war in the coming days,” the outlet said, citing Israeli officials.

The decision will be discussed at Tuesday’s meeting, but there is no full agreement among Trump’s closes advisers, CBS News wrote, citing fire sources familiar with the matter.

Fordow, a heavily fortified uranium enrichment plant built deep inside a mountain, has been hit with Israeli airstrikes, but there is no indication that its underground section sustained significant damage, according to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director-General Rafael Grossi.

The Jewish state lacks the bunker-buster bombs needed to fully destroy the entrenched facility, but US forces deployed in the region both carry the weapons and have the capability to field them, Axios wrote on Sunday.

According to National Security Adviser Tzachi Hanegbi, the Israeli campaign against Iran “will not end without damaging the Fordow nuclear facility.

While it is unclear “if the US will join,” Israel is in constant communication with Washington on the matter, he said in an interview on Tuesday.

A few hours prior to Tuesday’s security meeting, Trump delivered a chain of militant posts on Truth Social, claiming that the US now had unobstructed primacy in Iranian airspace, boasting that he could assassinate Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and demanding that Tehran capitulate.

Israel accuses France of anti-Semitism

Israeli firms have been blocked from displaying offensive weapons used in Gaza at the Paris Air Show

Israel has claimed a French decision to block Israeli weapons manufacturers from displaying their weapons at the Paris Air Showis anti-Semitic, discriminatory and politically driven.

French officials on Monday found that theIsraeli firms had violated an agreement not to showcase “offensive weapons,” including those being used on the people of Gaza, and ordered black partitions to be placed around their stands at the air show exhibition hall.

The Israeli Defense Ministry denounced the decision as “bluntly anti-Semitic,” accusing France of trying to block competition from Israeli firms.

“The French are hiding behind supposedly political considerations to exclude Israeli offensive weapons from an international exhibition – weapons that compete with French industries,” the ministry claimed.

The French Foreign Ministry defended the move, saying its position had been “clear and consistent.” While supporting Israel’s defense – including contributing to the Iron Dome – Paris said it “cannot accept the promotion of such [offensive] weapons on our national soil.”

Acting on government instructions, organizers at the Paris Air Show covered the stands of Israel Aerospace Industries, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, Elbit Systems, UVision, and Aeronautics.

A French government source told media the firms had gone back on an earlier deal restricting such displays.

Among the hidden items were reportedlyair-to-surface munitions, drone mock-ups by Elbit and Bluebird Aero Systems. Three smaller Israeli stands without visible hardware, along with an Israeli Ministry of Defense booth, remained open.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog also condemned the move, calling it “outrageous” and urging that it be “immediately corrected.” Speaking on French television channel LCI, he said:“It’s like creating an Israeli ghetto.”

The show’s organizer said it was working to help “find a favorable outcome.” The week-long expo at Le Bourget reportedly features over 2,400 companies from 48 countries.

The dispute comes as Israel’s missile exchanges with Iran continue for a fourth day and global concern over its operations in Gaza grows. On Friday, Israel launched strikes on sites it said were linked to Iran’s nuclear program, killing several senior military officials. Tehran claims 224 people have been killed in the attacks since then, and that “over 90%” were civilians. At least 21 Israelis have died in Iranian retaliatory strikes.

(Is there anytime they won’t use that old guilt shit, even saying it’s anti-Semitic to sell offensive weapons, how on earth is that racism?)

17 Jun, 2025 21:01 (Why is Ukraine bombing very poor areas in that area)

Two civilians dead in Ukrainian strikes on Russian border region – governorAleksandr Khinshtein has condemned the attackers as “cruel and merciless”

Two elderly people have been killed in Ukrainian shelling of the village of Zvannoe in Kursk Region, western Russia, Governor Aleksandr Khinshtein said on Tuesday.

The victims were identified as a woman, 59, and a man, 69, Khinshtein said on Telegram, expressing condolences to their families. At least four homes and a local school were damaged in the attack, he added.

The governor denounced the strike as “barbarian” and branded the Ukrainian military behind it “cruel and merciless.” He also urged the region’s residents to avoid travelling to areas bordering Ukraine because of “very high” security risks. Zvannoe is located less than 20 kilometers from Ukraine.

Ukraine launched a large-scale incursion into the region last August, in what Kiev officials hyped as a blow to Russia. However, Russian forces quickly turned the tide, and by the time the Ukrainians were fully expelled in late April, the Defense Ministry in Moscow estimated that Kiev had sustained more than 76,000 casualties in the operation.

Ukraine has regularly launched cross-border drone, artillery, and missile strikes targeting Belgorod, Kursk, and Bryansk regions, since the escalation of the conflict in February 2022.

In recent weeks, Ukraine has significantly ramped up drone attacks targeting Russian territory, both border regions and more distant targets, including Moscow. Russia has accused Kiev of “terrorist” attacks on the country’s railway infrastructure, which have led to civilian fatalities. According to the Kremlin, the indiscriminate raids are intended to derail direct bilateral talks that resumed between Moscow and Kiev in Istanbul in May.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Russian Defense Ministry reported intercepting almost 150 Ukrainian drones overnight that targeted a dozen Russian regions. Rodion Miroshnik, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s ambassador-at-large, reported on the same day that nearly 70 civilians, including 14 children, were casualties of Kiev’s FPV drone strikes over the past week.

Ambulances had evacuated ten people who were injured in the shelling, Kulemzin stated, noting “preliminary information about fatalities.” Kulemzin had previously warned residents about loud blasts in the city, urging caution. The TASS news agency later reported at least ten powerful explosions in the capital of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR).

Ukrainian forces have regularly targeted residential neighborhoods in Donetsk throughout the ongoing conflict. Just days earlier, a unmanned aerial vehicles injured six teenagers and two adults, according to the DPR’s war crimes documentation department.

The incident occurred during a series of drone attacks that also damaged homes and vehicles in the area. City officials report dozens of civilian injuries in Donetsk each month as a result of shelling attributed to Ukrainian forces.
