i'm not advocating for war. just pointing out some old facts….that there is a context to our actions.
Are we innocent in the global game of geo-politics? no….but we have motivations (as does everyone else - Israel included).
So, everyone said, "Go forth young Israel, fight your own battles"
And so it did. Israel has proven that it could knock Iran down. Israel (believably) says it can go and rip the head off the snake. Pretend Israel does that. From the Israeli perspective, this is in it's own best interest - a failed incompetent state nearby is better than a successful and threatening state nearby.
So, now we have a power vacuum.
What's your approach?
Give the power vacuum to who? China? Russia? Iraq?
China needs the cheap fuel….they'll be happy rebuild the infrastructure for a 10 or 20 year at cost deal, no? Do you want China controlling the Straight of Hormuz? Do you want to keep the Mullah's in place? China would be happy to do that….ensuring control.
You wanna give it to Russia? I'm sure they will manage it wonderfully without expansionist plans
Iraq? mmmm yea…that's a good one.
