Allow me to take this opportunity to explain my reasoning. By suggesting filtering or by promoting the idea of filtering, many newfags will take it upon themselves to preemptively judge posts that contain information outside of their conform zone. The newfag may even develop their own brand of Chan Culture and no longer be able to identify friend from foe. The filter suggestion develops the habit of censorship and declaration of wrong think. The threads behave as a continuous conversation, the social structure is similar to that of an ongoing circle of personality continuously generating new thoughts and ideas based on the influx of information. By filtering or injecting the idea of censorship into the conversation creates cliques and safe spaces within the normally global mind of the board. Essentially the habit of censorship or filtering creates blocks and inhibits the collective thought process. Not to mention that some graphic content may be advantageous as to desensitize oneself to such excesses.
