Kremlin Warns Against US Intervention In Iran, Tells Israeli Leaders 'Come To Your Senses'

"We would like to especially warn Washington against military intervention in the situation, which would be an extremely dangerous step with truly unpredictable negative consequences," she said.

TASS also reports that Putin spoke with President Trump on the matter, urging de-escalation before another major war and quagmire engulfs the whole region once again. However, this seems to already be happening. Russia had previously to this current fighting offered to mediate the nuclear issue between Iran and Israel.

Zakharova continued to explain: "Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has also been active, communicating with the foreign ministers of Iran, Turkey, Egypt, and Oman. The current crisis in the Middle East was a topic of discussion in Lavrov's conversations with the Azerbaijani foreign minister, as well as during negotiations with Indonesia’s foreign minister. These dialogues are ongoing."

That's when she laid out more of the Kremlin's position on the matter:

"We hope that all parties recognize that there is no viable alternative to seeking mutually acceptable negotiated solutions to the problems at hand. She backed Iran’s "clear commitment to its obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty" - at a moment the White House has been demanding that Tehran agree to zero enrichment, which so far it has rejected, calling it a violation of its national sovereignty.

US Starts Evacuating Diplomats From Embassy In Israel, As Prospect Of US Entry Into War Lingers

As tensions escalate between Israel and Iran, and the prospect of direct Pentagon involvement against Iran lingers, the US State Department has begun evacuating diplomats and their families from the American embassy in Israel. So far these are diplomats deemed 'nonessential' personnel.

According to American officials cited in The Associated Press, a government aircraft transported several diplomats and family members who requested to leave on Wednesday.

The exact number of individuals on the flight or those who may have exited via land routes to Jordan or Egypt - or sea routes - remains unclear.

The AP notes that the evacuation flight occurred shortly before US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee posted on X that the embassy was preparing evacuation plans by air and sea for private US citizens - including by arranging cruise liners to assist with logistics.

However, just hours later, the State Department’s Bureau of Consular Affairs said on X that there are as yet no official plans (as of Wednesday) to assist private Americans in leaving Israel or the Palestinian territories.

Some 600,000 Americans had lived in Israeli prior to the start of the Gaza war, however, most are residents and have dual citizenship.

Already, going back to the Hamas terror attack of Oct. 7, 2023 - and Israeli military assault on Gaza - there have been a steady stream of Americans and foreigners departing Israel.

Tel Aviv overnight came under heavy Iranian ballistic missile attack, and there have been missile attacks on the north as well. Israel's air defenses have been overwhelmed, and Israel's military has admitted that many warheads have made it through, with a major hospital also having been hit.

Iran has been getting hit hard by Israeli warplanes for nearly a week, but the country's elite IRGC has been touting recent new waves of "complex rocket and drone attacks on military targets" in Haifa and Tel Aviv - in a Thursday statement.

There's no solution on the horizon, and while European countries scramble to also get their citizens out, there are so far unsuccessful efforts to get the Iranians back to the nuclear negotiating table. In terms of escalation, much may depend on what the White House decides in terms of the level of its direct involvement in the aerial war.

US Asked Ukraine Not To Attack Russian Energy, Zelensky Complains

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed that he was told by the US not to attack Russian energy infrastructure shortly after Vladimir Putin spoke with President Donald Trump.

“Today, the Russians launched a stone-cold, combined attack on our energy infrastructure. This is a spit in the face of everything the international community is trying to do to stop this war,” the Ukrainian leader said Sunday. “It happened right after Putin’s conversation with Trump. After the Americans asked us not to strike Russian energy facilities.”

Zelensky went on to attack Putin for offering to play a mediating role to end Israel’s war on Iran. “At the same time as Putin tries to portray himself as a mediator for the Middle East and attempts to somehow assist his accomplices in Tehran. The level of cynicism is staggering,” he added.

The Libertarian Institute reached out to the State Department to confirm Zelensky’s statement. The department’s press office replied, “The United States and Ukraine agreed to develop measures for implementing President Trump’s and President Zelenskyy’s agreement to ban strikes against energy facilities of Russia and Ukraine,” and referred to a March joint statement issued by the US and Ukraine.

Ukraine’s First Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said that Kiev had been told not to attack Russian energy infrastructure, but did not say the message came from Washington. “Some allies have asked us not to strike Russian energy infrastructure – even as Russia wages all-out war on ours: targeting power plants, oil and gas infrastructure, hydroelectric dams – every form of energy we rely upon,” she said.

Throughout the war, Ukraine has stepped up attacks inside of Russia, including hitting energy targets. The Kyiv Insider says Ukrainian forces did halt attacks on Russian energy in the 45 days leading up the the Presidential election last November, but resumed those attacks on election day in the US.

The Turkish president says Israel has surpassed the Nazi dictator in committing crimes of “genocide” in Gaza

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has condemned Israel’s aggression in Gaza and ongoing attacks on Iran, comparing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Adolf Hitler.

Israel began bombing Iran on Friday, claiming Tehran is nearing the completion of a nuclear bomb. Iran dismissed the accusations. The Turkish president said it has the legal right to respond to Israel’s attacks. This is not the first time Erdogan has issued hostile remarks toward West Jerusalem, accusing it of engaging in “banditry and state terrorism.”

Speaking to members of his ruling AK Party in Parliament on Wednesday, Erdogan stated: “The most horrifying photos and videos from World War II pale in comparison to what we’re seeing from Gaza,” claiming that Netanyahu has “long surpassed the tyrant Hitler in the crime of genocide.”

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar shot back at Erdogan. “The sultan, in his own eyes, in yet another inflammatory speech, continues to incite against Israel and against the Israeli prime minister,” he wrote on X.

Erdogan said Türkiye is doing “everything we can” to stop what he called “inhumane aggression” not only against Iran, but also Gaza, Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen, adding that the country is prepared for “every possible negative development and scenario.”

West Jerusalem has justified its ongoing attacks by claiming that Iran is on the brink of obtaining nuclear weapons. Tehran has denied the accusations, maintaining that its nuclear program is entirely peaceful.

The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Mariano Grossi, said on Wednesday that the agency has not found any proof of an effort by Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon.

Russia has condemned the Israeli campaign as illegal and warned that strikes on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure could trigger a “nuclear catastrophe,” calling for a diplomatic resolution.

“We carried out specific activities to help us learn more about them, and then used that information to influence their behavior,” an unnamed Israeli official told Fox News. “We knew this would lead them to meet, but more importantly, we knew how to keep them there.”

With the deaths of the Iranian personnel gathered in the bunker under false pretenses, no one was left in the Iranian chain of command to quickly give the order to launch 1,000 ballistic missiles on June 13 as Iran had previously threatened as retaliation against Israel, according to the JC.

In addition to decapitating the Iranian Air Force leadership, Mossad also reportedly utilized a covert drone base deep within Iranian territory to cripple the Islamic Republic’s air defenses, paving the way for Israeli jets to bombard sites across the nation.

Israel also killed Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps commander Hossein Salami in the opening wave of airstrikes, while killing the Iranian chief of staff, Ali Shadmani. Shadmani was eliminated only a few days after his predecessor, Gholamali Rashid, was killed by airstrikes on June 13.

Mystery Break-In at Home of Slain Minnesota State Rep Melissa Hortman

Police are on scene and investigating a break-in and attempted burglary at the home of slain Minnesota state Rep. Melissa Hortman.

Vance Boelter, 57, shot and killed Minnesota State Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband early Saturday morning.

Boelter also shot and wounded Democrat State Senator John Hoffman and his wife.

Hortman’s home had been boarded up with plywood after investigators moved out all of the evidence of the homicide.

Late Tuesday evening and overnight into Wednesday, an individual pried off the plywood on a back window of the Hortman home.

Investigators are unclear whether the individual stole anything. The Hortman family arrived at the home on Wednesday to see if the individual took anything of value.

Police are investigating a reported overnight break-in at the boarded-up home where Minnesota state Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband were fatally shot over the weekend, authorities said Wednesday.

Officers were alerted at 8 a.m. about the break-in at the residence where Hortman and her husband were killed on Saturday in what officials have described as a “politically motivated” shooting, according to a statement by the Brooklyn Park Police Department.

Investigators had previously processed the home as a crime scene before it was boarded up on Sunday morning, with a police trailer camera left in front, police said in a Wednesday statement.

Hortman’s family had “removed items of value from the home on Tuesday,” police said.

Israel Slaughters 140 Palestinians in Gaza Over 24 Hours

More Palestinians were killed by the IDF while seeking aid

Gaza’s Health Ministry said on Wednesday that Israeli forces killed at least 140 Palestinians and wounded 560 over the previous 24-hour period as the daily US-backed massacres continue while the world is focused on the Israel-Iran war.

The ministry said another four bodies of Palestinians killed in previous attacks were recovered. “There are still a number of victims under the rubble and on the streets, and ambulance and civil defense crews cannot reach them,” the ministry wrote on Telegram.

Among the dead were Palestinians killed by Israeli forces while seeking aid, which has become a daily occurrence in Gaza. According to Al Jazeera, at least 29 Palestinians waiting for aid trucks were gunned down on Wednesday near the Netzarim Corridor, which separates northern Gaza from the rest of the Strip.

“Palestinian lives have been so devalued. It is now the routine to shoot & kill desperate & starving people while they try to collect little food from a company made of mercenaries,” Philippe Lazzarini, the head of the UN’s Palestinian relief agency, UNRWA, wrote on X.

Lazzarini also strongly criticized the US and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which has been operating aid distribution sites near where Palestinians are frequently gunned down by Israeli forces. “Hundreds of people have been reported killed since the ‘Gaza Humiliation Foundation’ started operating just over three weeks ago,” he said. “A lame, medieval, and lethal system that is deliberately harming people under the camouflage of ‘humanitarian aid.'”

The UNWRA chief said it was a “war crime” to “invite starving people to their death.” Palestinians have continued to make the perilous journey to GHF sites despite the risk of coming under IDF attack and being killed, demonstrating their desperation for food.

Heavy Israeli airstrikes and shelling also continued to pound Gaza on Wednesday. According to Al Jazeera, attacks included strikes on tents in the al-Mawasi camp in southern Gaza on the coast, killing eight people, including a woman and two children. A strike in the Maghazi camp in central Gaza killed 10, including a husband and wife and their children.

The Health Ministry said that the latest violence has brought the death toll since October 7, 2023, to 55,637 and the number of wounded to 129,880. Studies have shown that the Health Ministry’s numbers are a significant undercount, and estimates that factor in indirect deaths caused by the Israeli siege and destruction of all of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure bring the death toll into the hundreds of thousands.

Iran holding direct talks with US, says it could bend on nukes if attacks stop

Iranian foreign minister tells Witkoff no return to table on nuclear issue as long as Israeli strikes ongoing, in most substantive contacts yet between Washington and Tehran

US special envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi have spoken by phone several times since Israel began its strikes on Iran last week, in a bid to find a diplomatic end to the crisis, three diplomats told Reuters.

According to the diplomats, who asked not to be identified due to the sensitivity of the matter, Araghchi said Tehran would not return to negotiations over its nuclear program unless Israel stopped the attacks, which began June 13 and triggered deadly Iranian missile attacks across Israel.

The diplomats said the talks between Araghchi and Witkoff included a brief discussion of Washington’s proposal given to Tehran at the end of May. Tehran has so far rejected the offer, which aims to create a regional consortium that would enrich uranium outside of Iran.

US and Iranian officials did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment on the matter.

This week’s phone discussions were the most substantive direct talks since the two began negotiations in April. On those occasions, in Oman and Italy, the two men exchanged brief words when they encountered each other after indirect talks were held.

A European diplomat said: “Araghchi told Witkoff Iran was ready to come back to nuclear talks, but it could not if Israel continued its bombing.”

A second regional diplomat who spoke to Reuters said, “The [first] call was initiated by Washington, which also proposed a new offer” to overcome the deadlock over clashing red lines.

Uranium enrichment

US President Donald Trump wants Tehran to end uranium enrichment on its soil, while Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has said Tehran’s right to enrichment is non-negotiable.

Iran, whose leaders are sworn to destroy Israel, publicly rejects nuclear weapons, but has stockpiled uranium enriched to 60% — far beyond what is needed for civilian use, and a short step from weapons-grade.

Heavy damage, injuries as Iranian missile hits Beersheba hospital; dozens hurt in central cities

30 missiles fired in early-morning barrage, warhead causes extensive damage to Soroka, southern Israel’s main hospital; Israel calls attack a war crime; 6 people seriously injured in Ramat Gan and Holon

Iran fired a barrage of some 30 ballistic missiles early Thursday, scoring a direct hit on Israel’s main southern hospital, the Soroka Medical Center, and two other impacts in the central cities of Holon and Ramat Gan that wounded dozens of people, including six in serious condition.

The Magen David Adom emergency service said that a man, 80, and two women, both in their 70s, were among six people seriously hurt. Two people were moderately injured, and at least 42 others suffered light injuries from shock waves and shrapnel at the various impact sites. In addition, 18 people were lightly injured as they scrambled to bomb shelters when sirens went off.

The barrage was the latest from Iran as it bombards Israel with ballistic missiles. Israel began attacking Iranian nuclear and military sites last week, citing the immediate existential threat they pose.

Soroka Medical Center is the main hospital in Israel’s south.

The hospital’s director general Prof. Shlomi Kodesh told the media, “A missile hit the old surgical ward building at Soroka. It’s a relatively old building that had been evacuated in recent days.”

Eli Bin, head of the Magen David Adom ambulance service, said a floor at Soroka that was hit had been evacuated of patients only the day before amid the war.

“Many lives were saved,” Bin said.

Iran claimed that the ballistic missile that hit Beersheba’s Soroka Hospital was aimed at an adjacent military and intelligence headquarters. Reuters reported that the claim was made by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

There are no Israeli military facilities in the vicinity of Soroka Hospital. The IDF’s Southern Command base is located over two kilometers away, and there is an under-construction army base just over a kilometer away.

The IDF said claims circulated by Iranian media that Soroka Hospital was used as a military facility were “lies.”

“The claim of an attack on an intelligence base or the presence of military equipment under the hospital is another lie. We are not so despicable as to endanger civilians,” the IDF said in a Persian-language statement directed at the Iranian population. “Attacking hospitals is a crime. Fabricating a reason does not justify it,” it adds.

World Trade Center’s Infamous 91st-Floor Israeli ‘Art Student’ Project

In the period leading up to 9/11, a group of Israelis (not dual-U.S. citizens) managed to secure “temporary construction” passes to perform work on the 91st floor of Larry “pull it” Silverstein’s leased WTC 1. These passes gave them access to the entire WTC complex. The pretense was an art project called the “B-Thing,” and the group is called Gelatin. Note that the pass was valid for weekends.

After securing their passes, Gelatin proceeded to remove the heavy WTC windows of an office space on the 91st floor and reportedly constructed a prefab balcony outside of the building. Then they stretched “putty” around the windows and filmed it by helicopter as a stunt shown here.

According to court documents, a group of six people, including Juan Diaz-Rivas (36), were shouting, “F*** the Jews, Free Palestine” as they walked down the 3100 block of Fillmore Street in San Francisco’s Marina District on 14 June.The victims, a 27-year-old male and his friend, Alana Gans, 28, were sitting nearby when the victim asked the group to stop making antisemitic chants because Gans is Jewish. Diaz-Rivas allegedly moved close to Gans to intimidate her, at which point the victim put himself between Gans and Diaz-Rivas, and the two subsequently attempted to walk away.

The group then came after them, and one of them allegedly “sucker-punched” the male victim, who fell to the ground, hit his head, and lost consciousness.

Diaz-Rivas and others in the group allegedly continued to punch and kick the victim while he was unconscious. According to Gans’s interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, the attackers continued to spew antisemitic insults during the continued physical assault, which she estimated lasted under a minute. Gans was also allegedly attacked, though less severely injured.

The numbers don’t lie. Real wages have stagnated for most workers. Since 1979, the bottom 90 percent have seen their income share fall from 70 percent to 60 percent. Meanwhile, the top 1 percent has seen their share balloon. The average CEO now earns 344 times what a typical worker makes. That’s not a gap. That’s a canyon.

Debt is eating what’s left. Credit card balances are at record highs. Interest rates are punishing. Rent, insurance, and utilities are swallowing paychecks. Over 50 percent of income for many households is now going to fixed costs. That’s not budgeting. That’s survival.

The labor market is softening. Weekly jobless claims are hovering near 245,000. The unemployment rate is expected to rise to 4.5 percent by year’s end. That’s not catastrophic. But it’s enough to push vulnerable households over the edge. Especially when inflation is still eating into every dollar.

The illusion of growth is breaking. GDP is up, but living standards are down. The M2 money supply is bloated. The Fed’s balance sheet is still above $6.6 trillion. Liquidity is everywhere. But it’s not reaching the people who need it. It’s sitting in reserves. It’s padding asset prices. It’s not paying rent.
