There were two locomotives on each end… the one that struck the truck was in the older livery with the stripes, while the loco that pulled the train away from the scene was the newer Amtrak livery.

That they backed the train away from the scene says a lot… they perceived a threat to the train or else they would have left it there to maintain evidence on scene. If it were a normal train it would have stayed on scene. It worries me that they were in such a hurry to get to Greenbriar.

Here is a diagram of the train accident I threw together… you can even see the signal house that the garbage bin hit as it was being torn free of the truck.
