NATO Limits Zelensky’s Participation at Next Week’s The Hague Summit To Avoid Him Running Into Trump – Kiev Sources Suggest Ukrainian Leader May Decide Not To Attend

by Paul Serran Jun. 19, 2025 1:00 pm

After US President Donald J. Trump left the G7 meeting in Canada early and ditched his meeting with Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky in the process, the world could see clearly what was widely suspected:the Kiev regime leader will have much less access to Trump, and the military support for his war effort is now all but over.

Now, the next ‘golden opportunity’ for Zelensky to try to meet with Trump would be next week’s 2025 NATO Summit in The Hague (Netherlands). The event is scheduled for June 24–25.

But several reports, notably by UK’s The Times(behind a paywall),suggest that the Summit has been ‘tailored to accommodate Trump’s preferences’, including a shortened duration of about two and a half hours and a concise one-page communiqué.

Also, while Zelensky has been invited to the summit, his participation has been deliberately limited to avoid ‘awkward meetings’ with Trump.

He is not expected to be included in key working events or the main opening dinner, and interactions with Trump are being restricted ‘due to the risk of a public dispute’.

Also, the summit’s communiqué will likely avoid mentioning ‘Ukraine’s irreversible path to NATO membership’.

So, now, it’s been reported – with the usual ‘off-the-record’ Kiev sources – that the man Trump once branded as ‘a dictator without elections’may not even go to the event.

The Guardian reported:

“Some Ukrainian officials said they were not sure now if it will be worth Zelenskyy attending the Nato summit in The Hague next weeksince there was no guarantee that Trump would attend.”

Kyiv Independent reported:

“Some in Kyiv are unsure if Zelensky’s presence at the June 24-25 summit would be worthwhile without a confirmed meeting with Trump, whom they had hoped to engage directly in efforts to pressure Russian President Vladimir Putin into accepting a ceasefire.

{…}One official told the Guardian that Ukraine is in a ‘permanent hazard’ of becoming a victim of ‘Trump’s short attention span’, adding that Russia has exploited this uncertainty by fresh aerial attacks. The source added that there had been ‘all sorts of promises for this summit’, including U.S. arms.”

Ukrainians Fuming After Trump Abruptly Leaves G7 Conference and Ditches Meeting With Zelensky

by Paul Serran Jun. 18, 2025 3:40 pm

The worried eyes of the world are focused on the deteriorating scenario in the Middle East, with the possibility of a nuclear crisis looming ever closer.

In the meantime, Ukraine finds itself relegated to a very secondary plane both by the US Donald J. Trump administration, but also by the media’s fleeting attention.

In every possible metric we can use,the situation for the Kiev regime is getting worse by the day.

There’s a massive Russian missile superiority, and the abundant and relatively inexpensive Geranium (Shaheed) drones are becoming increasingly difficult to intercept.

The German paper Die Welt well summed the events on the ground: ‘Russia advances 15-20 km [roughly 10-12 miles] daily, Ukrainian defenses are exhausted’.

At this critical juncture, Ukrainian leader VolodymyrZelensky was counting on having some personal time with Trump during the G7 conference in Canada, to advance his requests and pleadings.

But that was not to happen.

The Guardian reported:

“Ukrainian diplomats have been left frustrated – and in some cases embittered – at Donald Trump’s refusal to make Ukraine a priority after Volodymyr Zelensky flew 5,000 miles to the G7 conference in Canada only for the US president to return home the nightbefore the two leaders were due to meet. Trump said he needed to focus on the Israel-Iran conflict.

In a further blow for Kiev the US vetoed a joint statement on Ukraine from the summit, on the grounds that the wording was too anti-Russian and could compromise negotiations with Vladimir Putin.”

It is now unclear if Zelensky will attend NATO Summit in the Hague next week.

“With the US chair at the G7 summit removed, Zelensky instead sat down with the other members of the group at a special sessiondedicated to Ukraine, but the central purpose of the session – to try to enlist Trump’s support to put pressure on Putin to agree a ceasefire – had been nullified by the US president’s abrupt departure announced to fellow G7 leaders in the afternoon. Zelensky was also due to have a one-to-one meeting with Trump.

[…]Zelensky had billed that the G7 summit as one of two golden chances to apply collective western pressure on Trump, and to discuss Ukraine’s plans to buy as much as $30bn to $50bn worth of air defense systems and weapons from the United States as a form of security guarantees.”

On the way to the G7, Zelensky visited Austria and was involved in a bad controversy for standing beneath an umbrella and leaving his wife in the rain.

Macron was also shunned because he’s the asshole that trapped Trump by Macron dragging the dog Zelensky to Trump meeting, that why Trump called him arrogant. Zelensky was always afraid Israel would steal the Admins attention from Ukraine. Z has basically cancelled himself for his lack of respect.

First, he got out of the car and did not help his wife. Instead, he quickly went to greet the host, Sputnik Near Abroad notes . Then Zelensky stood under an umbrella while his wife was in the rain.

Americans irritated by Zelensky’s top aide – Politico

The second-most powerful figure in Kiev has reportedly drawn bipartisan ire in Washington

A growing number of US officials – from Capitol Hill to the administration of President Donald Trump –are expressing deep frustration with Vladimir Zelensky’s powerful chief of staff, Andrey Yermak, according to a Politico report.

Yermak’s repeated visits to Washington since the escalation of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in 2022have been seen as increasingly unproductive and even counterproductive, according to ten people familiar with his interactions, the publication reported on Thursday.

US officials describe Yermak as “abrasive,”prone to pressing unclear demands, and “uninformed” about the realities of US politics. His most recent trip to DC earlier this month included poorly attended briefings, last-minute meeting cancelations – including with Secretary of State Marco Rubio – and confusion among aides about his purpose in town.

“We don’t know why he’s here,” one of the sources said. Another Trump administration source called him a “bipartisan irritator.”

The Biden White House reportedly tolerated Yermak as an acceptable source of friction during wartime. But with President Donald Trump pressuring Kiev toward diplomacy,he now appears to have become an “existential liability” for Ukraine, according to another source.

Yermak dismissed the criticism, telling Politico through a spokesperson: “If that means being considered ‘challenging’ by others – so be it,”stressing that he is focused on promoting Ukraine’s objectives regardless of political niceties.

However, Yermak is reportedly “extremely frustrated” with the results of his visit, according to another Politico source. One person described the trip as “a disaster from the Ukrainian perspective.”

Yermak is a former film producer who Zelensky – an actor-turned-politician – brought into government in 2019. The 53-year-old has been described as “Zelensky’s right-hand man” and “Ukraine’s real power broker,” with some officials even claiming that he de facto runs the country.

https://www.rt.com/russia/619905-americans-irritated-yermak/

Finally the door has been closed on Ukraine getting involved in U.S. decisions and leaders. That was obvious when Trump left Canada and didn’t meet with Zelensky. The idiots dont understand Zelensky’s disrespect to Trump in the Oval Office, was way worse than they thought and it shut off the contact with him.

KEK the whole scam is falling apart

Minister tasked with repatriating Ukrainians accused of fleeing country

Ukraine’s National Unity Minister Aleksey Chernyshov is abroad while a corruption case involving his former aides unfolds

The minister charged with repatriating Ukrainians living in the West has been accused of fleeing the country.

Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and National Unity Minister Aleksey Chernyshovleads a government department created in late 2024 to encourage citizens to return home.

MP Artyom Dmitruk and journalist Anatoly Shariy, both critics of the current Ukrainian government, claimed Chernyshov “escaped” the country after several known associates of his were arrested on charges of fraud and embezzlement.

Dmitruk, who himself left Ukraine earlier this year citing persecution by authorities, said Thursday on social mediathat the minister’s departure is “particularly comical,” adding “However they are trying to conceal this and whatever happens to this case now the fact remains that the regime is crumbling before our eyes.”

Chernyshov’s office has denied his departure is linked to a criminal case launched by Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) against five individuals over alleged offences committed when Chernyshov served as urban development minister.

Among the suspects is a former Ukrainian deputy minister who also held a position at state-run energy firm Naftogaz, and a former ministerial aide.

According to investigators, the group illegally transferred state-owned land to a private developer, who provided discounted luxury apartments in return. Authorities executed search warrants related to the case last year at an elite residential complex in Kiev.

Ukrainian news outlets have identified the accused as longtime associates of Chernyshov. Media reports from 2024 linked one of the searched properties to his former head of security and claimed Chernyshov himself owns an apartment in the same building.

Shariy, an EU-based reporter who was recently sentenced in Ukraine to 15 years in prison for state treason, claimed the minister is now hiding in the EU while awaiting protection from Vladimir Zelensky.

On Thursday, Ukraine’s parliament, which is dominated by Zelensky’s supporters, approved the formation of a special commission to examine corruption allegations involving law enforcement and the judiciary. Critics claim the body is meant to target NABU investigators.

The Ukrainian government has faced repeated corruption scandals in recent years. In 2023, former Defense Minister Aleksey Reznikov stepped down following revelations that his ministry had paid inflated prices for military rations. His successor, Rustem Umerov, is reportedly under investigation by anti-corruption authorities for alleged abuse of power related to the defense procurement system.

Iran blames IAEA chief’s ‘betrayal’ for strikes on nuclear sites

Tehran says Rafael Grossi’s “biased report” has helped justify Israel’s attack

Iran has accused International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) chief Rafael Grossi of distorting facts in a past report that led to Israel’s military strike on Tehran’s nuclear facilities, calling it a betrayal of the agency’s mandate.

In a statement posted on X on Thursday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei accused Grossi of issuing a “biased report” that was used by the US and three European countries to pass a resolution with “baseless allegations of non-compliance.”

In a report earlier this month,Grossi stated that “Iran is the only non-nuclear-weapon state in the world that is producing and accumulating uranium enriched to 60%.”

However, in an interview with CNN on Tuesday, the IAEA chief said UN inspectors have not found any evidence that Iran was undertaking “a systematic effort to move into a nuclear weapon.”

This is too late, Mr. Grossi,” Baqaei said, referring to Grossi’s comments to CNN. Baqaei said the report “obscured this truth” and was “instrumentalized… to craft a resolution” that was later used by a “genocidal warmongering regime” to justify “an unlawful attack” on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Grossi’s report last week prompted the UN nuclear watchdog’s board to declare Iran in breach of its non-proliferation duties for the first time in 20 years. Nineteen of 35 IAEA member states backed the motion, including the US, UK, France, and Germany, citing Iran’s failure to explain undeclared nuclear material and growing uranium stockpiles.

Iran rejected the decision as “political” and said it will build a new enrichment site.

Russia has argued that the “biased, anti-Iranian”resolution paved the way for Israel’s attacks against the Islamic Republic.

Baqaei said Grossi “betrayed the non-proliferation regime,” demanding accountability and warning that “misleading narratives have dire consequences.”

West Jerusalem has justified its ongoing attacks by claiming that Iran is on the brink of obtaining nuclear weapons. Tehran has denied the accusations, maintaining that its nuclear program is entirely peaceful.

Earlier this week, US Senator Mark Warner, the vice chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said US intelligence agencies have not seen any evidence that Iran is pursuing nuclear weapons – a position unchanged since their last report in March.

(Grossi has been dishonest about many things, the UN is all political, they are paid to change their story all the time.)

Hungary offers to host Ukraine peace talks

Budapest could also arrange a Putin-Trump summit if asked, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto has said

Hungary’s offer to host peace talks aimed at ending the Ukraine conflict remains valid, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on Thursday.

Hungary has maintained a dissenting position within the EU since the conflict escalated in February 2022, advocating for dialogue while most other member states have pledged only to continue military support to Kiev.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), Szijjarto reaffirmed Budapest’s commitment to a peaceful resolution and said Hungary is prepared to host negotiations. He said he communicated the proposal to senior Russian and Ukrainian officials days after the outbreak of the hostilities, adding,“This offer is there, is valid, we have not withdrawn that.”

Hungary would be willing to organize a summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart, Donald Trump if such a meeting were requested, Szijjarto claimed. He praised the recent improvement in relations between Moscow and Washington, following the change in the US administration.

”Our clear historic experience is that whenever the US and Russia are able to maintain a civilized relationship, it’s always better for Central Europe,”he said.

Trump has declined to continue US military aid to Ukraineand has suggested that both Washington and Moscow could benefit from restoring bilateral ties. His efforts to mediate a truce between Russia and Ukraine contributed to the countries restarting direct negotiations in Türkiye, talks that Kiev abandoned in 2022 to focus on its military campaign.

Szijjarto noted that European nations that once called for Ukraine’s victory are now urging an unconditional ceasefire. He said that many of those countries previously criticized Budapest for promoting diplomacy, arguing that the shift highlights their loss of credibility.

At a recent round of talks in Istanbul, Russia proposed two options for a conditional ceasefire, asserting that either would prevent Ukraine from regrouping and resuming hostilities, unlike an unconditional truce.

The proposals involved either a Ukrainian withdrawal from territories claimed by Russia or a halt to military mobilization and Western arms deliveries.Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky has rejected both and demanded direct talks with Putin.

The Russian president said this week that he is open to such a meeting to finalize a peace agreement, but cautioned that Zelensky is not legally authorized to sign any treaty. Zelensky’s presidential term expired last year and no successor has been elected, raising Moscow’s concerns about any agreement the Ukrainian politician might sign.

The EU is withdrawing because Zelensky is now demanding $40 Billion for Ukraine’s resilience! KEK he never stops.

UN watchdog report ‘hardly’ justification for attack on Iran – IAEA chief

Rafael Grossi stressed that his agency found no evidence that Iran was building a nuclear bomb

Israel’s attack on Iran is not justified by the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) latest report, which states there is no evidence that Tehran is developing a nuclear bomb, according to the agency’s chief, Rafael Grossi.

Israel launched airstrikes against Iran last week, claiming it was on the brink of developing a nuclear bomb. Tehran denied the accusation and responded with retaliatory strikes.

Israel’s attack came several days after the IAEA Board of Governors declared Iran in breach of its nonproliferation obligations. The resolution cited Grossi’s recent report that Iran had enriched uranium to 60% purity, albeit short of the 90% required for weapons-grade material, and was not cooperating with inspectors.

Speaking to CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Thursday,Grossi stressed that the IAEA’s report “could hardly be a basis for military action.”

“Military action, whomever it comes [from], is a political decision that has nothing to do with what we are saying,” he said.

Grossi acknowledged that Iran had failed to provide adequate answers to the agency’s inquiries, but emphasized that the IAEA “do not have any indication that there is a systematic program in Iran to manufacture, to produce a nuclear weapon.”

He also noted that enriched uranium alone does not equal a bomb. “We do not have any evidence that this is ongoing in Iran,” he said.

Tehran had previously accused the IAEA chief of betrayal, saying his “biased report” was used to “craft” the resolution used by Israel to justify its “unlawful attack.”

US intelligence agencies have also maintained there is no evidence Iran is building a nuclear weapon. Nevertheless, US President Donald Trump has dismissed those findings, insisting Iran was “very close” to getting a bomb when Israel attacked. He has called for Iran’s “unconditional surrender” and warned of possible US involvement if American targets are attacked.

Since launching its assault, Israel has hit several Iranian nuclear sites, including in Natanz, Isfahan, and near Tehran. However, the Israeli military reportedly lacks the capability to breach Iran’s fortified Fordow facility – built deep within a mountain – and has allegedly asked the US to use its GBU-57 bunker-buster bombs, according to Axios.

The White House has insisted that Trump had ruled out direct US participation in the strikes. The Wall Street Journal, however, recently claimed the president has already approved a US attack plan but is yet to give the order.

Israel’s campaign has drawn widespread condemnation. Moscow has accused West Jerusalem of violating international law and warned that US intervention would escalate the crisis.

(The UN started this war, now they are backtracking. How much did Israel pay the UN?)

Iran not prepared for talks with anyone while Israeli attacks continue: Iranian FM

20 June ,2025: 10:47 AM GST

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi rejected any negotiations with the United States while Israel continues its attacks on Iran, in an interview with state TV broadcast on Friday.

“The Americans have repeatedly sent messages calling seriously for negotiations. But we have made clear that as long as the aggression does not stop, there will be no place for diplomacy and dialogue,” said the chief diplomat, who was due in Geneva for talks with his European counterparts.

European top diplomats are meeting with Araghchi in Geneva on Friday to discuss Iran’s nuclear program.

“I’ve received several phone calls reassuring me that the Zionist regime would not target” Araghchi en route to Geneva, his adviser Mohammad Reza Ranjbaran said on X.

Foreign ministers from France, Germany, Britain and the EU are urging de-escalation, with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy saying the next two weeks are “a window… to achieve a diplomatic solution.”

Separately, the UN Security Council is also due to convene on Friday for a second session on the conflict, at Iran’s request with support from Russia, China and Pakistan, a diplomat told AFP on Wednesday.

Trump’s fear of Iran becoming ‘another Libya’ stalls decision on nuke site strikes for two weeks: sourcesJune 19, 2025

WASHINGTON — President Trump’s wariness over bombing Iran is due in part to concerns about creating “another Libya” if Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei is toppled, administration insiders told The Post — as Trump shelves his decision for up to two weeks.

The president in recent days has specifically mentioned the oil-rich North African country’s decade-long plunge into anarchy in 2011 — after the US joined a NATO bombing campaign to oust dictator Muammar Gaddafi — three sources close to the administration said.

Trump “doesn’t want it to turn into Libya,” said one insider familiar with the administration’s deliberations on potentially joining Israel’s airstrikes against Iran’s nuclear program.

On Thursday afternoon, White House press secretary KarolineLeavitt announced that the president was also biding his time before deciding whether to join Israel’s strikes “based on the fact that there’s a substantial chance of negotiations that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future.”

Iran’s Foreign Minister Araghchi is expected to meet his UK, French, German, and EU counterparts in Geneva, Switzerland on Friday for talks. Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff is not set to attend, Leavitt said, but noted that he’s continued his own conversations with the Iranians.

One of The Post’s sources said they directlyheard the president say in private he was worried about Iran becoming like Libya before Israel began its aerial assault on Iran.

Other sources were briefed by those who had heard him say so following the start of the conflict last week, with one source close to the administration saying he also mentioned Afghanistan and Iraq.

A fifth source lacked direct knowledge of the Libya remarks, but was briefed onTrump’s considerations, said the president seems most inclinedto order limited airstrikes to finish off Iran’s nuclear facilities at Fordow and Natanz with 30,000-pound “bunker buster” bombs that can’t be carried on Israeli jets.

“Libya was a much more extended kind of bombing commitment, and it ended up being regime change,” the fifth source noted.

“If the regime falls [in Iran], then it’s not on Trump, because that’s not the goal of his very limited strike.”

That sourcementioned concern that “we get somebody worse than Khamenei.”

Miranda Devine: FBI emails revealed to The Post expose Biden DOJ’s obsession with piling on Trump charges 1/2==

By Miranda Devine

Published June 18, 2025, 10:32 p.m. ET

Internal FBI emails reveal that rogue agents and prosecutors in the Biden DOJ were looking for ways to pile on new criminal charges against Donald Trump over the Jan. 6 Capitol riot — this time over his involvement with the J6 prisoner choir, based on a single partisan news article.

The 2023 emails obtained by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) andrevealed exclusively to The Post are an example of the nitpicking malice of anti-Trump lawfare that tainted special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation, during Joe Biden’s presidency.

“Can we do some work to nail down Trump’s role in this,” writes prosecutor JP Cooney to DOJ colleagues on March 8, 2023, in an email with the subject line “J6 Prisoner Choir/DJT” and an attached Forbes.com article titled “Trump Collaborates On Song With Jan. 6 Defendants.” Cooney was a deputy special counsel who worked on both the Robert Mueller and Smith get-Trump special counsel investigations.

‘Agent Zero’

“According to this Forbes article, Trump recorded the Pledge of Allegiance at MAL [Mar a Lago] and Kash Patel [now FBI director] and Ed Henry [a former Fox News host] were also involved,” Cooney wrote in the email chain.

“The profits are routed to an LLC run by Henry, and proceeds are intended for families of incarcerated J6 defendants — but there is apparently a vetting process that excludes families of defendants who assaulted police officers.

“I asked Ahmed [likely prosecutor Ahmed Baset, who was fired earlier this month] to preserve this last night.I’ll talk to Maria/Erin and Julia about doing some follow up here to nail down Trump’s role.”

Cooney also instructedcolleagues to look at starting “some process on Ed Henry’s LLC,”presumably a legal process such as a subpoena, search warrant or other court-authorized actions to gather evidence.

His email was forwarded to eight agents and DOJ staff, including notorious anti-Trump FBI Special Agent Walter Giardina, who responded two days later to say he was investigating the claims in the Forbes article about Trump and the J6 prisoner choir: “Esther and I are working on this today. We’re going to put together our findings at 2 and get something to you shortly after that.”

Giardina was “Agent Zero” in a lot of overzealous FBI actions involving Trump and his allies, including the investigation of Trump White Houseadviser Dr. Peter Navarroon contempt of Congress charges for refusing to appear before the House committee investigating the J6 riot.

It was Giardina’s FBI team that arrested Navarro as he was about to board a plane at Reagan National Airport in 2022, put him in leg irons and threw him in jail instead of simply issuing a summons for him to come to court, as the federal judge overseeing the case later said while criticizing the heavy-handedness.

Giardina was also significantly involved in Operation Crossfire Hurricane(the debunked Russia collusion investigation against Trump), Mueller’s investigation and cases involving Trump allies Dan Scavino and Roger Stone, as well as the Hillary Clinton emails case.

According to Grassley, Giardina was an “initial recipient of the Steele Dossier” and falsely claimed that the bogus Clinton campaign smear sheet against Trump was corroborated as “true.”

Giardina also “electronically wiped the laptop he was assigned while working for Special Counsel Muelleroutside of established protocol for record preservation, raising the possibility that he destroyed government records.”

Whistleblown away

Whistleblowers have told Grassley that Giardina “openly stated his desire to investigate Trump, even if it meant false predication,” because of his hostility to the past and future president.

Grassley believes this email chain is another “clear example” of how thefederal law enforcement apparatus was weaponized to try to “get Trump” at all costs.

“Instead of focusing on DOJ and FBI’s core law enforcement responsibilities,” Grassley told The Post, “partisan prosecutors and agents were surfing the web to find any shred of information they could use to spin another baseless case against Trump. Their actions are a disservice to Americans, who pay their salaries and depend on DOJ and FBI to keep them safe.”

Grassley, known as the “patron saint of whistleblowers,”is working with Patel and his deputy Dan Bongino to ferret out the lawfare correspondence hidden at FBI headquartersand finger the culprits behind the anti-Trump lawfare of the past eight years.

Patel also this week gave Grassley an FBI intelligence report alleging Chinese involvement in forging American driver’s licenses intended to be used for fake mail-in ballots supporting Biden in the 2020 election.

Whistleblowers had told Grassley that theFBI memo had been recalled after it was issued and no further action was taken, despite the fact that Customs and Border Protection seized almost 20,000 fake licenses three months before the election.

“Thanks to the oversight work and partnership of Chairman Grassley, the FBI continues to provide unprecedented transparency,” Patel told Just the News, which first reported on the CCP election plot.

“To that end, we have located documents Chairman Grassley requested.”

“My investigative work won’t rest,” Grassley told the Senate on Wednesday. “There’ll be much more coming from this senator.”

Among the charges that Smith, Cooney, Giardina and pals were trying to drum up against Trump over his conduct on Jan. 6, 2021,were conspiracy to defraud the US, obstruction of an official proceeding and potential violations of the Insurrection Act.

Ultimately, they failed.

Trump comprehensively won the 2024 election, Smith was forced to drop the Jan. 6 and Mar-a-Lago cases against him — andTrump fired his team, targeted their law firms and pardoned every Jan. 6 defendant.

Fmr Democrat Strategist Dan Turrentine Shares Real Reason Why People In His Party Are ‘Very Quiet’ About Iran

Former Democrat strategist Dan Turrentine shared Wednesday on Fox News the reason why members of his party are “very quiet” about Iran.

Israel launched hundreds of airstrikes on Iran, targeting critical areas and eliminating top figures in Iran’s military leadership, along with several nuclear scientists. During an appearance on “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Turrentine shed light on the silence within his party.

Our party is almost as divided to some extent as the Republican Party is right now. And I think they’d rather, unfortunately, be talking about kings than talking about Iran right now,” Turrentine told host Jesse Watters.

Turrentine referred to the “No Kings” protests that took place Saturday. In Washington, D.C., the military parade celebrating the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, coinciding with Trump’s 79th birthday, was met with over 1,800 protests under the “No Kings” banner, opposing Trump’s policies on deportations and government cuts while challenging the celebration of America’s history.

Turrentine said the Democratic Party remains split on foreign policy. He cited two historical moments that define the party’s modern internal conflicts, the 2004 presidential primaries and former President Barack Obama’s campaign against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

“This is a great issue. I mean, if you remember, we’ve had two big moments in our party in the last 20 years. 2004, what was Howard Dean fueled on? Being against the Iraq War. John Kerry, Dick Gephardt, all kind of, you know, bit their tongues and voted for authorizing force. Barack Obama against Hillary Clinton. What did he hang around her neck?” Turrentine asked. “You voted for the Iraq War. I’m watching all those people thinking about 2028, those Senate candidates in swing states. They’re very quiet.”

Turrentine said the current situation presents a moment for Democrats to no longer remain silent.

“Israel is our ally. I know this issue has divided us for years here, the last couple of cycles between the Palestinians and the Israelis,” Turrentine said.

Turrentine discussed the longstanding opposition to Iran.

“But, fundamentally, we have been opposed to Iran as a country now, going back to when they bombed the Marine barracks in the 70s or the early 80s,” Turrentine added. “Absolutely, our country should say, we are with President Trump on this. If we’re going to go against the Iranians and try to knock out their nuclear program, it is to protect America.”

Instead of addressing the conflict, the Democrats were aiming to restrict President Donald Trump’s authority, with Democratic Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine introducing a war powers resolutionto prevent military action against Iran without congressional approval. Similarly, Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders criticized Israel’s preemptive strikes and proposed legislation to limit U.S. involvement in the conflict without formal authorization.

Since Israel began its strikes, the U.S. is said to be deliberating whether to participate and target Iran’s nuclear sites. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has also hinted that eliminating the ayatollah could be considered. On April 12, Trump imposed a 60-day ultimatum on Iran to reach an agreement on its nuclear program, which lapsed just before Israel’s strikes commenced.
