my argument?
I made no such argument. I merely pointed out that the land WAS NOT Mexico.
Mexico is a vally down where Mexico City is and a volcano and the ruins of an ancient civilization.
they were trying to claim a lot of land.
their leaders were despots and pissed off the wrong people.
they were easily vanquished because, well, they just didn't have the muster to fight off the Americans.
THEN they SOLD that part to the United States.
They sold it. You forget that part.
then in 1853 they sold even more to the United States.
so you're wrong.
As far as the natives go: some of them still have their towns and nations.
others do not.
We all come from the Earth.
how far back would you go?
I'm of the mind that if you live somewhere and are making due and living OK then you ought to be able to stay.
reparations and all that, or herding 'indiginous' to a 'reservation' isn't my bag.
I'm glad that the Apache and the Navaho and other groups are able to still be distinct.
but I would be unhappy if they turned into hateful divisionist marxists and didn't let anyone else go there.
the "California is really Mexico" crowd are division marxists.
They never owned the places that they want to claim as their own. The people who lived there in 1848 were not told to leave.
