The long paper I read...the key point is basically a claim that a disclosure is in the works soon and that the story will be complex.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honne_and_tatemae

There are some names for sure. Last year or the year before there was really no one...

I don't really care or know about the groupies, but I know a little something about SOLID and SAFE. Speculative tech for sure, but honest projects with absolutely HUGE implication. Makes all the shitcoins and even bitcoin look like child's play.

It's a bit of a different beast because it not really about digital currency but a decentralized internet and dapps, but IMO, it's the most honest project in tech innovation at the moment.

there are some really "coincidental" things about SAFE as well...

I won't go into the whole list but being about 5 mins away from Trump Golf in Scotland is just the beginning...

I'm open to that possibility. I've been thinking about these things hard for a long time. It could be a CIA thing just as easily. All that said, the tech still speaks for itself. Perhaps the clowns were using it but they don't have control over it.

The bigger question for me is asking about the viability of a decentralized internet...not just money. Does real privacy of data protected by sharding, encryption, etc. just create new conditions for old schemes? Or does it also create new conditions and direct lines of communications for anonymous whistleblowers also...

The philosophical ideas to think about with respect to SAFE and SOLID are much broader than BTC.

On the last point, if the cabal is held together by blackmail, a decentralized internet would be a pretty massive tool for those wanting to get out to coordinate between each other and with people in positions of knowledge and power willing to help.

The argument will be made about regulation, blaa blaa…but it's unstoppable, it's autonomous. short of turning off electricity, it's happening one way or another and smart government people should agree. Not only that, but governance itself will decentralize…The move from agricultural monarchies to industrial democratic republics is now moving to something else altogether in the informational economy and decentralization has to be "central" to that.

Easy. Because "these people are stupid." and greedy.

I don't think it was them though. The cypherpunks have been working on this for decades and their a mishmash group…

SOLID is MIT and Sir Tim's project for dapps. I think you can find it in MIT media lab…no currency at all. They're working with Maidsafe to integrate SAFE as the base routing and storage layer.

All the info would be on the pages. Basic idea is that the internet got centralized through servers and ISPs. There is way more spare memory in all our personal computers than in all the servers, NSA, AWS, etc. combined. We can co-opt them. We just need a language which creates the mesh network. You get paid in a token when encrypted shards of other people's data is stored on the partition that you donate to the network. Obviously, the resource you provide gets ranked, etc. They've mapped out the attack vectors and the game theory vectors well. It's still in development, but unlike cryptoscams, they don't put out a live network and then try to evolve it. That's ass-backwards.

The currency will likely be very valuable if the network is adopted, but it's a distant second to what they're trying really reaching for: privacy, security, freedom. They've been working since before Bitcoin, but with bitcoin, they realized that the network effect of crypto is essential to adoption and security through incentives in a decentralized network.

Yea, look into it. Particularly, PARSEC, a new algorithm they've developed.

I share your skepticism with cryptos. 99% is garbage and I imagine those people learn about karma soon.

Certainly not giving speculative investing advice for MAID or the SAFE Network, but it's way more than bitcoin. Still in development, but if they pull it off…and they are very close, it will be a YUGE deal. It can scale…as you'll see, it's not a blockchain. It's a datachain. Adoption actually positively feedback upon scaling.

There's a lot to read out there on it, but here are 2 interesting pieces:

I don't know, but I don't agree with that sequence of events or those individuals.

Could be.

But verification is needed. The code was written or at the end of development when the paper was published. That's my understanding at least.

It's all speculation until something finally drops.
