re: CIA vs NSA for Bitcoin, all I can wonder is why the CIA would build something that subverts everything they worked so hard to build.

are they trying to become valuable cryptocurrencies or just straight ahead new technologies? And can you send me the link to either of their webpages? I found maidsafe for SAFE but SOLID on search pulls nothing up.

Yeah, decentralization is potentially a very powerful thing. It's all still in the experimental phases, but hopefully good will come from it.

 

Remember that Julian Assange came from out of the cypherpunk groups.

 

Thanks for the info on SOLID and SAFE, I will look into them. It feels like to me though, in order to make their system robust, and have to it actually work at scale, that they'd just be reinventing bitcoin.
