Update (11:37ET): Following President Trump's new foreign entanglement - bombing Iranian nuclear facilities (which may or may not have taken them out while causing a deep divide amongst MAGA), Vice President JD Vance says he believes their nuclear program has been set back "many years," and that he feels "very confident that we’ve substantially delayed [Iran’s] development of a nuclear weapon," adding that it was US intelligence, not Israeli intelligence assessments, that led to Trump's decision.

When asked if the United States is at war with Iran, he claimed "No, Kristen, we’re not at war with Iran. We’re at war with Iran’s nuclear program," and called on Iranians to "give peace a chance.

"They can go down the path of peace, or they can go down the path of this ridiculous brinksmanship of funding terrorism, of trying to build a nuclear weapon - and that's just not something the United States can accept."

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, meanwhile insisted to Fox News that "This is not a war against Iran," adding "Not a shot was fired against us. They didn't even know what had happened. By the time we left, the planes were out of their airspace before they finally started realizing they'd been hit. So it would be a terrible mistake if Iran retaliates. So but that's not our goal."

The Mar Elias Church in Damascus has reportedly been hit by a suicide bomber during services

An explosion has occurred at Mar Elias Church in the Syrian capital of Damascus, multiple media outlets reported on Sunday. The Orthodox Christian church was reportedly struck by a suicide bomber during mass.

At least ten people were killed in the attack and 20 others wounded, reports suggested, citing a preliminary evaluation.

Graphic footage circulating online shows the church interior sustained considerable damage, with mangled bodies and large puddles of blood inside.

The blast was followed by gunshots, eyewitnesses told the UAE-based English-language newspaper The National. The origin of the weapons fire was not immediately clear.

“I was in my car driving when I heard an explosion just as I passed the church. People started screaming and I heard gunshots,” an eyewitness told the newspaper. “Cars and ambulances started arriving. I saw many people injured and others may have been killed.”

Satellite Imagery Flags "Unusual Activity" At Iran's Fordow Nuclear Site Days Before U.S. Strike

On Saturday evening, President Donald Trump made a surprise announcement that the United States had conducted targetted ariel bombings of three nuclear sites in Iran.

In an address to the nation, President Trump said that the facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan had been “completely and totally obliterated.” Trump added that “Iran, the bully of the Middle East, must now make peace.”

The president went on to say that his government had “worked as a team” with the government of Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem. It “We worked as a team, like perhaps no team has ever worked before.”

While British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer had previously advocated for continued negotiations, the UK leader nonetheless expressed his backing of the Trump administration’s strikes on Iran.

“Iran’s nuclear programme is a grave threat to international security. Iran can never be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon and the US has taken action to alleviate that threat,” Starmer wrote on Sunday morning.

“The situation in the Middle East remains volatile and stability in the region is a priority. We call on Iran to return to the negotiating table and reach a diplomatic solution to end this crisis,” he added.

British government minister Jonathan Reynolds said on Sunday that London was given warning of the impending strikes on Iran from Washington, but claimed that the UK played no part in the bombings.

European leaders were a bit more cautious in their public statements, appearing less willing to definitively condone America’s strikes on Iran.

Report: U.S. Gave Iran Advance Notice of 'One-Off' Strike on Nuclear Sites

The Trump administration tipped off Iran ahead of America's strikes on three nuclear sites and told them it would be a "one-off" attack, according to a report from Amwaj Media.

The story: US President Donald Trump says three key nuclear facilities in Iran have been "obliterated," while threatening more strikes "if peace does not come quickly." This comes as Amwaj.media has learned that Washington notified Tehran of the strikes. Speaking on condition of anonymity, a high-ranking Iranian political source confirmed that the Trump administration on June 21 conveyed that it did not seek an all-out confrontation, and only intended to strike the Fordow, Isfahan and Natanz nuclear sites. Importantly, the senior source also confirmed that the targeted sites were evacuated, with "most" of Iran's stockpile of enriched uranium kept in secure locations.

Earlier this week, multiple U.S. officials told CBS News that Mr. Trump opposed an Israeli plan to kill Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran's supreme leader.

I said earlier this month when it became clear the US was about to attack that "We can only hope this will be some tit for tat exchange of symbolic strikes and not the start of World War III."

If these reports are accurate, that may actually be the case.

The great Alastair Crooke floated such a scenario on Judge Napolitano's show a few weeks back and it seemed plausible.

"A senior Iranian source told Reuters that most of the highly enriched uranium stored at the Fordow nuclear facility was moved to an undisclosed location ahead of the US strikes," the Middle East Eye reports. "The source added that the number of personnel at the site had also been reduced to a minimum in anticipation of a potential attack."
