Secretary Marco Rubio -vs- Margaret Brennan

June 22, 2025 | Sundance |

In this interview, the insufferable Margaret Brennan attempts to match intellect with Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Ms. Brennan fails miserably. The outcome is an epic broadcast of media bias, dramatic acting by Brennan and a very visible smackdown from a highly competent Rubio.

Margaret Brennan attempts to tell Marco Rubio what intelligence assessments are and how they are used. Now keep in mind as a U.S. Senator Marco Rubio was the Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and a member of the Gang of Eight conducting intelligence oversight for years. Brennan thought she could match wits with Rubio, she failed miserably; embarrassingly so. WATCH:

Full length interview, not the shortened one this am:

I love watching this because it’s obvious Marco has been under an extreme amount of decision making and pressure, and usually he’s patient with Magpie and others. Then she asked the stupidest “proxy for Iran questions” and he just goes off when she says “have you seen it in the intelligence?,” and he asked“how do you know what’s in the intelligence?” Like is someone showing you the intelligence, who was it?… that freaked her out, because someone might have showed them intelligence. Guaranteed Rubio is going to run an investigation on who is releasing intelligence to the news, Margaret just blew up “their mole that’s leaking”.! She was so freaked out by his response she started to complement the Trump admin and right away turned into the aggressor again.

Margaret just learned her lesson, FAFO!

Sunday Talks – Secretary of State Marco Rubio Discusses U.S. Strike on Iran

June 22, 2025 | Sundance |

There are many critical interviews today that will be highlighted. We are at an important geopolitical inflection point with multiple consequences amid each chosen path.

The bombing of Iran has united the neocon pro-war groups within the Senate and legislative branch (pro-Ukraine, Pro-Israel) which may assist President Trump’s primary objective to get the Big Beautiful Bill over the finish line. That can be a big short-term strategic benefit, if the operational strikes on Iran do not escalate into a regional conflict.

That said, Secretary of State/National Security Advisor Marco Rubio is the principal person to watch as President Trump’s geopolitical agenda is carried out.

Here he istalking to CFR Maria Bartiromoin his first comments after the strike took place. “No regime change” but the era of “playing games” is over. WATCH:

WHAT? Out-Of-Touch Zelensky Asks ALL Allies To Devote 0.25% of Their GDP to Finance Ukrainian War Effort

by Paul Serran Jun. 22, 2025 1:00 pm

Zelensky wants a bite out of your GDP.

After more than 3 years having his regime be the focus of the Globalist establishment, Ukrainian leader VolodymyrZelensky now sees the world’s attention turning to the dangerous escalation in the Middle East– and is afraid funds for his war effort will become even harder to come by than they’ve already become.

So, Zelensky came up with a ‘brilliant’ idea:he is calling on Ukraine’s Western partners to allocate 0.25% of their GDPto help Kiev ramp up weapons production.

He also saidUkraine will start exporting weapon production technologies.

Reuters reported:

“In remarks released for publication by his office on Saturday, Zelensky saidUkraine was in talks with Denmark, Norway, Germany, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Lithuaniato launch joint weapon production.

‘Ukraine is part of Europe’s security and we want 0.25% of the GDP of a particular partner countryto be allocated for our defense industry and domestic production,” Zelensky said’.”

The lack of support from US’ Donald J. Trump is patent, so Zelensky will need more from the Europeans.

The Ukrainian defenses are out-manned, out-equipped and out-maneuveredby the Russian forces, and they are totally reliant on outside help to maintain some fighting capabilities.

“This year Kiev had secured $43 billion to finance its domestic weapon production, Zelensky said.”

Ukraine is only able to produce 40% of its defense equipment domestically, and it’s planning to launch joint weapon production outside of the country.

“’We have launched a program ‘Build with Ukraine’ and in summer we will sign relevant agreementsto start exporting our technologies abroad in the format of opening production lines in European countries’, Zelensky said.”

In addition he just asked (demanded) the G7 countries to give Ukraine $40 Billion annually each, for all time to support the country

Zelensky makes new threats against Russia

The Ukrainian leader has vowed to “reduce” Moscow’s military potential with new strikes, with his army chief echoing the remark

Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky has suggested that Kiev’s forces will conduct more long-range strikes targeting facilities deep inside Russian territory.

Ukraine has significantly escalated drone attacks deep into Russia in recent weeks, despite ongoing diplomatic efforts to end the conflict. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has described the actions as an attempt to derail the peace process.

In a post on his Telegram channel on Sunday, Zelensky wrote that he had held a meeting with the head of Ukraine’s military intelligence, Kirill Budanov, claiming that Kiev was keeping tabs on Russia’s “main pain points.”He pledged to “strike appropriate blows” with a view to “significantly reducing” Moscow’s military potential.

Zelensky also stated that Kiev wassharing its intelligence on Russia with its Western backers, with which it is “preparing joint defense solutions.”

Speaking to reporters also on Sunday, Ukraine’s commander-in-chief, AleksandrSyrsky, similarly said that Kiev “will increase the scale and depth”of its strikes on Russian military facilities deep inside the country.

On June 1, Ukrainian intelligence conducted a coordinated attack on several Russian airbases across five regions, from Murmansk in the Arctic, to Irkutsk in Siberia.

Ukrainian media later reported that the operation codenamed ‘Spiderweb’ involved dozens of first-person view (PFV) kamikaze drones. At least some of them were reportedly launched in close proximity to the targets, from commercial trucks that had been covertly brought into Russia.

The strikes were said to have been prepared for more than a year and a half and focused on Russia’s “strategic aviation.”

The Defense Ministry in Moscow said that a number of aircraft in Murmansk and Irkutsk regions had caught fire as a result of the attack.

Kiev claimed that the strikes had damaged or destroyed approximately 40 Russian military aircraft, including Tu-95 and Tu-22 long-range bombers. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov later dismissed these estimates as incorrect.

”The equipment in question… was not destroyed, but damaged. It will be restored,” the diplomat told TASS in early June.

Around the same time, Keith Kellogg, US President Donald Trump’s special envoy, cautioned that “when you attack an opponent’s part of their national survival system, which is their nuclear triad… that means your risk level goes up because you don’t know what the other side’s going to do.”

NATO summit to ditch Ukraine meeting – Politico

An upcoming gathering of the US-led military bloc’s members will reportedly have a reduced agenda

An upcoming NATO leaders summit in the Netherlands will have a shortened schedule, with the focus on Ukraine drastically reduced, Politico reported on Saturday, citing five people familiar with the matter.

The summit, set to be held in the World Forum in The Hague from June 24 to 25,will only feature two main events– a welcome dinner at the Dutch royal family’s castle and a single meeting of the North Atlantic Council instead of the usual two or three, according to Politico.

There alsowill not be a meeting of NATO’s Ukraine Council.

Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky has been only invited to attend the welcome dinner, and it still remains unclear whether he will come, the outlet noted. The sources suggested the abbreviated schedule was a concession to the US and President Donald Trump in particular, who has repeatedly shown impatience with and shunned multilateral gatherings of a ceremonial nature.

NATO officials reportedly pared down the agenda after the G7 debacle, when Trump abruptly left the summit in Canadahalfway through the two-day program. He also reportedly opposed a draft joint statement on the Ukraine conflict, and the summit ultimately ended without one.

The upcoming gathering is expected to yield no lengthy joint communique, with the bloc likely to produce only short statements on new commitments. Cuts to the agenda have also beenattributed to a need to minimize the risk of derailing the main event of the summit, where members are expected to pledge to hike defense spending to 5% GDP.

Trump has long demanded that NATO countries spend more on defense, and the new commitment will be regarded as a big “win” by the US president, the sources suggested.

“He has to get credit for the 5% – that’s why we’re having the summit,” a European defense official told Politico. “Everything else is being streamlined to minimize risk.”

The Night Chancellor Merz Changed His Mind About Donald Trump

The incoming German chancellor campaigned as a debt hawk. Then a source told him about Trump’s plans for NATO. June 22, 2025

Following the Munich Security Conference, Merz discreetly asked former Constitutional Court judge Udo Di Fabio to explore whether it would be possible to amend Germany’s Basic Law with the votes of the outgoing Bundestag. The “Basic Law” is Germany’s equivalent of a constitution. It can only be changed by a two-thirds majority in parliament. That also applies to the debt brake. Getting a two-thirds vote would be possible with the old Bundestag, but not the new Bundestag that was expected to have a higher representation of AfD and other fringe parties.

Shortly afterwards, Di Fabio sent him his expert opinion. Amendments to the Basic Law with the votes of MPs who had already been voted out of office were possible up to 30 days after the election. That would be March 25, the same day the new Bundestag would be seated. Merz would have less than a month to execute an about-face.

On the day of the election, Merz gave the first public signal that his thinking was changing when he appeared with other candidates on the Berliner Runde, a television program in which party leaders comment on the election as soon as the polls close.“For me, it will therefore be an absolute priority to strengthen Europe as quickly as possible so that, step by step, we can really achieve independence from the USA,”he said.

Independence from the USA? Scholz, sitting right next to Merz on TV, could hardly believe it.Until now, European politicians had carefully avoided suggesting that Europe could manage its defense without the Americans. Germany, which has neither its own nuclear weapons nor a robust army, needs American troops and their nuclear umbrella more than anyone.

Merz, considered a staunch transatlanticist, was giving up on the USA? “Since U.S. President Donald Trump’s statements last week,it has been clear to me that this administration is largely indifferent to the fate of Europe,” Merz continued. A summit of the transatlantic military alliance is scheduled for the end of June. “Will we even be talking about NATO in its current form then?” he asked.“Or will we then have to establish an independent European defense capability much more quickly?”

The Conversation

The next day, when the election results had been tallied, Merz praised the outcome in a press conference: 29 percent was much less than the Christian Democrats had hoped for, but Merz argued it was a success if you look at the number of votes rather than percentage points. The Christian Democrats gained 2.5 million votes compared to the previous Bundestag election, and the Christian Socialists gained 500,000, he noted.

What he failed to mention is that the AfD gained over 6 million votes. After an election campaign more polarizing than any in decades, more people turned out to vote than in previous years, and the AfD was the beneficiary.

Merz was genuinely outraged by the scene in the Oval Office. But he also knew he could use this indignation to his advantage. After all,he would need a credible narrative to justify the political turnaround, the astronomical increase in defense spending, that will take place under his leadership.
