Consider a case in point - NCMEC. Created and run by pedos to control the information flow, run interference to protect the connected, and eliminate competition.

 

Oh, and they kill people who might get in their way.

Generally speaking, utilities put most of their generators into separate companies for ease of accounting and transferring permits when selling units.

Also, since most utilities are regulated by local entities, they organize legally to be within a given regulated territory.

Similarly, non regulated businesses are kept entirely separate.

 

Add to that, Exelon has been on a buying spree, so they've acquired multiple other utility holding companies, each with their own large portfolio.

 

Thus you end up with tons of little legal entities fast. Its not unusual. You will see the same with Duke or Sempra.

Methinks the public display of the black eye is a sly and humbling way to let others know they are now in the club… that they've both surrendered to it, and can now be trusted as part of it. I don't imagine they send out new member newsletters.
