“The Rio Ruidoso at Hollywood reached a provisional crest of 20.24 feet this afternoon while significant flash flooding was occurring . If this is confirmed, it would be a record high crest (compared to last year’s crest of 15.86 feet on July 20th),” NWS Albuquerque wrote on X.

Despite initial reports of no fatalities, Ruidoso Mayor Lynn Crawford later confirmed at least three deaths — including two children — after bodies were recovered downstream.

Russia overnight launched an unprecedented 728 Shahed drones as well as decoy drones, accompanied also by 13 cruise and ballistic missiles, Ukraine's air force announced Wednesday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described that the northwestern city of Lutsk, near the borders with Poland and Belarus, suffered the most intense attacks and damage, and ten other regions were also targeted.

Lutsk hosts military airfields frequently used by Ukrainian cargo planes and fighter jets, and has long been a region crucial to military logistics and a hub for foreign military.

Zelensky said that the Kremlin was "making a point" with this fresh attack, especially as it comes so closely on the heels of the Pentagon U-turn concerning weapons shipments to Kiev.

"This is a telling attack — and it comes precisely at a time when so many efforts have been made to achieve peace, to establish a ceasefire, and yet only Russia continues to rebuff them all," he wrote on X.

"Our partners know how to apply pressure in a way that will force Russia to think about ending the war, not launching new strikes," Zelensky added, and called for more Western anti-Moscow sanctions, particularly targeting its energy sector.

Russia's Defense Ministry meanwhile later confirmed it launched "long-range" and "precision" strikes on Ukraine overnight Tuesday, seeking to take out military airfield infrastructure. The statement claimed that "all designated targets were destroyed."

For German suspects across all age groups, the TVBZ is 1,878.

According to the latest statistics available from the federal government, 52 percent of Canada’s copper exports in 2023 went to the United States, followed by 17 percent to China and 12 percent to Japan.

In that year, Canada exported $9.4 billion in copper, representing around 1 percent of its $965.1 billion exports of goods and services. By comparison, in the same year Canada exported over $20 billion of iron and steel, both of which have now come under U.S. tariffs. Canada’s total mineral and metals exports comprised 6 percent of the nation’s GDP in 2023.

A Federal Court judge has temporarily blocked the distribution of an internal ArriveCan investigator’s report after a former Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) manager requested it be sealed.

In his July 7 decision, Justice Henry Brown said former CBSA director general Cameron MacDonald had established he would face “irreparable harm to his professional reputation” if the report was distributed.

“The allegations each side makes against the other are most serious,” wrote Justice Brown in the decision, which was first covered by Blacklock’s Reporter. “They deserve a full hearing.”

Brown granted a temporary injunction against the distributing or disseminating of the final draft of the “Professional Standards Investigation Report.”

Brown noted that the underlying facts in the case are “heavily contested” and that the parties involved “dispute the timeline, purpose, merits and procedural fairness of this investigation and report.”

MacDonald and former CBSA employee Antonio Utano, who both worked on the development of the ArriveCan app while employed by CBSA, were suspended without pay over allegations of misconduct related to the app’s development. A mid-air collision between two Cessna aircraft in Manitoba that claimed the lives of two pilots, including an Indian national, is under investigation by the RCMP and the Transportation Safety Board of Canada.

RCMP, fire crews, and emergency medical services attended the scene located just south of Steinbach, where they found the wreckage of two small, single-engine aircraft, police said.

Both pilots were found dead at the scene and no passengers were aboard either plane, RCMP Cpl. Melanie Roussel said during a July 8 news conference. She declined to provide any information about either of the victims, saying it was still early in the investigation.

The consulate general of India has identified one of the pilots as Sreehari Sukesh, who was described as a “young Indian student pilot.”
