ICYMI

looks like indictment this Fri……

Here’s an update on the latest developments regarding Karmelo Anthony’s indictment and the glaring double standards we’re observing in the media’s coverage.

Karmelo Anthony’s Indictment Looms: Justice at Stake?

We’ve got new information on Karmelo Anthony’s indictment, a critical stage where the legal process truly begins. While many are aware he’s facing charges, the grand jury indictment is what he will ultimately confront in court. Frankly, we’re not optimistic that he’ll receive the appropriate charge; all signs point to him getting off easy, and we’re preparing ourselves for the worst.

The most significant update we received late yesterday is that Karmelo Anthony will be indicted next week. We highly suspect this will occur next week Friday, as authorities often choose this day to minimize press coverage. If it were announced on a Monday or Tuesday, it might suggest he would face the appropriate charge, but a Friday announcement typically indicates a move towards a lighter charge.

For those not entirely familiar, it’s crucial to understand the difference between a “charge” and an “indictment”. A charge is a formal accusation from a local prosecutor, whereas an indictment is a formal accusation issued by a grand jury after they’ve reviewed all the evidence. Both are accusations, but an indictment specifically reflects a grand jury’s determination of probable cause, which doesn’t require judicial oversight even when prosecuting minors as adults under Texas’s concurrent jurisdiction laws, as is the case here.

Karmelo Anthony is accused of taking Austin Metcalf’s life, an act he has admitted to. He was initially held in jail but has since been released to house arrest, complete with an ankle monitor and restrictions on his social media and contact with the victim’s family. His lawyer intends to plead not guilty and argue self-defense. However, we believe there’s no evidence whatsoever to support a self-defense claim, and if there were any, it would have surfaced weeks ago. Notably, journalists and local reporters who have viewed the security footage state that there was absolutely no fight that led to this incident.
