SOMEBODY GOT FIRED.

this is 10 days after the missile launch.

long article.

During the change of command ceremony at the headquarters for Navy Region Northwest, one point that all three speakers agreed upon was how the unbroken continuity of command, as reflected in ceremonies such as the one at Naval Base Kitsap in Bremerton June 20, are part of what maintain the strength and readiness of America’s fighting fleet.

Vice Adm. Mary Jackson, commander of Navy Installations Command, has served as a friend, mentor and boss to both the outgoing regional commander, Rear Adm. Gary Mayes, and the incoming regional commander, Rear Adm. Christopher “Scotty” Gray.

With the commander of Navy Region Northwest providing consolidated shore operations support for Navy activities in Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, North and South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota and Iowa, Jackson asserted the command’s “great strategic importance to the region.”

Likewise, with Puget Sound alone amounting to the Navy’s third-largest fleet concentration area, and serving as home to more than 190,000 sailors, Marines, military family members, civilian employees and retirees, Jackson praised the members of the Navy Region Northwest team as “the best of the best,” and “directly impacting the fleet’s readiness and quality of life.”

So you thinking this was in the works long before the launch, which i suppose makes sense.

Ceremony was 6/25. hows that for timing anyway?

I just figured I would look at command structure in kitsap/bangor naval…saw whole region change.

It looks like Bangor (where the boomers live) also brought in a new commander in 2017.
