Capital of Texas: AUSTIN.
Maybe something went down last night in Austin…
Well, lookie here:
The traffic congestion lasted about 5 hours and stretched from MLK Blvd. to Texas 45 near Buda.
The incident led authorities to shut down both the north and southbound lanes of the highway between Slaughter Lane and William Cannon Drive, directing drivers to the frontage roads and creating a major traffic backup.
TxDOT spokesman Chris Bishop urged people to always consider alternative routes in case of a crash.
“Don’t always think of the closest option; other people thought of that too,” he said. “You may have to go further out of the way to avoid being stuck in traffic. And keep a map. Sometimes you just have to pull over and look at the big picture.”
