so what if…
US, Iran, and Russia (maybe China) see there is no way forward as long as Iran has a public nuke program and understand the situation as it is will inevitably lead to a Nuclear confrontation. So the Iranians agree to allow the public destruction of their nuclear facilities, which they don't really need anymore as they already have the material and know how they needed from them. We get to say we destroyed their program. After a suitable performative counter strike Iran gets to keep their existing stockpile and knowledge base as long as they follow the Israeli model and don't talk about it. Then over time they can roll back the rhetoric and we all move forward.
Can I prove any of it? Nope. But it does fit the facts and historical precedent. Trumps not lying, we did blow up Fordo et. al. The Iranians aren't lying we didn't destroy their program. The Israelis get to puff up their chests and tell their people the Iran threat is ended. Russia gets to keep their vassal state and possibly Ukraine to sweeten the pot. The straits stay open and everyone goes back to their corner until the next round.
