Mysterious Drones Attacked Radar Systems In Iraq
Mysterious drones attacked on June 24 several military sites in Iraq, significantly damaging at least two of the country’s radar systems.
In a statement, Sabah al-Numan, a spokesman for the Iraqi military, said that the two targeted radars were deployed at Camp Taji, to the north of the capital, Baghdad, and at Imam Ali Base in the southern province of Dhi Qar province, in southern Iraq.
Iraqi forces successfully repelled other attempted attacks on four additional sites in different locations before the drones could reach their targets, the spokesman added, noting that there were no casualties.
The statement said all the targeted sites were fully operated and managed by Iraqi troops. Iraq’s prime minister ordered an immediate investigation into the circumstances of the attack, according to a spokesman.
Notably, the drone attacks took place on the same day a ceasefire ended the Israeli war on Iran, which started 12 days earlier.
Two Iraqi security sources told Reuters the drones used in the attacks were small and had been flown to the targeted sites from nearby locations.
Similar small drones were sighted over Ali Air Base and the nearby Nasiriyah Central Prison on June 27, according to Iraqi media.
The attacks appear to be particularly similar to the ones carried out by Israel’s Mossad spy agency against Iranian radars and air defenses during the war. Thus, it is very possible that the attacks on the Iraqi radars were also carried out by Israel with the aim of gaining operational freedom in the country’s airspace.
The Iraqi air defense network is very weak and relies only on short-range air defense systems. The country made no effort to close its airspace as it was being used by Israel to attack Iran, but it may have shared radar information with Tehran giving it advanced warning of incoming attacks.
Israel is now preparing for a new military campaign against Iran. Defense Minister Israel Katz said on June 27 that he had instructed the military to “prepare an enforcement plan against Iran that includes maintaining Israel’s air superiority, preventing nuclear advancement and missile production, and responding to Iran for supporting terror activity against Israel.”
After the fall of the regime of president Bashar al-Assad in Syria last December, Israel gained complete control over the airspace of the war-torn country. Now, it may be looking to achieve the same with Iraq to facilitate its upcoming campaign against Iran.

He warned Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his regime, whom he labeled "the toothless serpent's head in Tehran," that this operation was only a "preview of a new Israeli policy: After October 7, immunity is over.
Blow to Iran may advance IDF's goals in Gaza
IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir said in Gaza that Iran has faced severe setbacks since the war, and that the blow to Iran may advance the IDF's goals in Gaza.
“In the near future, we will reach the lines we defined for the current phase of the Gaza operation,” Zamir said, adding that at that point, political leadership will be presented with options for moving forward.

Israel Suspends Aid Deliveries in Gaza
Israel announced that no aid would enter Gaza for at least two days, claiming that Hamas had seized some shipments. While Palestinians deny the aid was diverted, some Israeli ministers are calling for shipments to be ended entirely.
On Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that aid would stop entering Gaza until the Israeli Defense Ministry can work on a plan to keep aid from falling into the hands of Hamas. However, Tel Aviv did not provide evidence that Palestinian militants were seizing the shipments.
One Palestinian official said armed men have escorted the aid shipments to prevent looting. Tel Aviv has backed a Palestinian group with ties to ISIS that has stolen some aid shipments.
Currently, a limited amount of aid is entering the Strip to be distributed by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF). The GHF has been met with intense scrutiny from other aid agencies, as obtaining aid at the GHF site has become deadly for Palestinian aid seekers. In the one month the GHF was in operation, 549 Palestinians were killed by the IDF attempting to reach aid sites.
Israel’s National Security Minister, Itamar Ben Gvir, is calling for Tel Aviv to end all aid shipments to the Strip. He claimed that any aid reaching the starving people of Gaza is “an absolute disgrace.” Ben Gvir added he wanted “not a temporary halt to ‘humanitarian’ aid, but a complete stop.”
The minister went on to say, “Halting aid will expedite reaching victory. I will demand that the prime minister bring the issue of introducing aid to the sector to a vote again in the next cabinet session.”

Priest warns: Christian town in Holy Land no longer safe amid settler attacks
In a disturbing and increasingly frequent pattern, the Palestinian town of Taybeh, located east of Ramallah and known as the last remaining town in the West Bank inhabited entirely by Christians, faces ongoing attacks by Israeli settlers targeting residents, their property, and farmlands.
According to ACI MENA, CNA’s Arabic-language news partner, in recent weeks settlers have established a new outpost on the eastern edge of Taybeh atop the ruins of a farmhouse whose owners were displaced roughly a year ago.
The outpost was erected in a vital agricultural zone, spanning around 17,000 dunums (roughly 4,200 acres), which serves as a key economic lifeline for the town. The area hosts thousands of olive trees, poultry and sheep farms, and wide fields used for seasonal crops. It forms the bulk of Taybeh’s total land area of about 24,000 dunums (about 5,900 acres).
Attacks and infringements are not new. In 2019 and 2020, settlers set up similar illegal outposts around the town, often accompanied by arson attacks on crops, theft of equipment, and deliberately releasing cattle into the fields to destroy harvests.
During the latest olive harvest season, for the second year in a row, farmers were barred from accessing their land near the Rimmonim settlement — which was built on confiscated Taybeh land — resulting in either theft or complete spoilage of the olive crop. Approximately 20 families were physically assaulted while trying to reach their land.
Father Bashar Fawadleh, parish priest of the Church of Christ the Redeemer in Taybeh, told ACI MENA: “The town, which the Gospel of John (11:54) refers to as ‘Ephraim’ — the place Jesus withdrew to before his passion — is no longer safe for its people today… We do not live in peace but in daily fear and siege.”
He added: “Since last October, more than 10 families have left Taybeh due to fear from ongoing violence and harassment.”
Fawadleh also described further Israeli-imposed restrictions: “Alongside these attacks, Israeli authorities have installed iron gates at the town’s entrances, severely disrupting residents’ access to work and essential services. These limitations, combined with mounting agricultural restrictions, have worsened unemployment and deepened the economic crisis, leading many to consider emigration.”

Newsom Files $787M Lawsuit Against Fox News Alleging It Lied About His Call With Trump
California Gov. Gavin Newsom has filed a $787 million lawsuit against Fox News claiming the company defamed him through its coverage of a phone call between the governor and President Donald Trump.
“No more lies,” Newsom wrote on social media platform X on June 27, confirming news of the lawsuit. “I’m suing Fox News for $787 million.”
The governor seeks damages for what he claims were lies about a phone call with the president. He has also asked the court for an order to stop Fox News from broadcasting or posting segments that say Newsom lied about the call.
Newsom also sent a letter to Fox News, demanding that it issue a retraction and that host Jesse Walters issue an on-air apology about the call.
If the news company and Walters meet those conditions, Newsom will drop the lawsuit.
Newsom’s latest legal action against Trump was done in a personal capacity, one of his official spokespersons, Brandon Richards, told The Epoch Times.
Rumors of a possible presidential run for Newsom have swirled in recent years, though he has denied any intention of entering the 2028 race. However, the governor hinted at the possibility in an interview with the Wall Street Journal for a profile published on June 10.
“I’m not thinking about running, but it’s a path that I could see unfold,” he said.
Fox News reported earlier this month that Newsom had lied when he claimed he did not get a call from Trump.
Trump shared with Fox News an alleged screenshot of a call the president said he had with the governor about the Los Angeles riots, dated 1:23 a.m. on June 7, that lasted 16 minutes.
“There was no call. Not even a voicemail,” Newson wrote in a June 10 post on X.
Fox News did not immediately return a request for comment.

WASHINGTON – Thomas Pham LeGro, 48, made his first appearance today in U.S. District Court for allegedly possessing child pornography. LeGro, a journalist at the Washington Post and resident of the District of Columbia, was arrested yesterday and taken into custody following a search of his home.
The charges were announced by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro. Pirro thanks FBI Assistant Director in Charge Steven J. Jensen and Chief Pamela Smith of the Metropolitan Police Department for their ongoing efforts in this investigation.
On June 26, 2025, FBI agents executed a search warrant at LeGro’s residence and seized several electronic devices. A review of LeGro’s work laptop revealed a folder that contained 11 videos depicting child sexual abuse material.
During the execution of the search warrant agents observed what appeared to be fractured pieces of a hard drive in the hallway outside the room where LeGro’s work laptop was found.
This case is being investigated by the FBI Washington Field Office’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, which is composed of FBI agents, along with other federal agents and detectives from northern Virginia and the District of Columbia. The task force is charged with investigating and bringing federal charges against individuals engaged in the exploitation of children and those engaged in human trafficking.
This matter is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Caroline Burrell and Janani Iyengar for the District of Columbia.

It's another resounding success for the MAHA movement that has left us thinking why on Earth were these steps not taken any sooner. And of course, we know the answer: the food lobby that RFK and his administration has been hell bent on not taking their cues from.
Nestlé announced Wednesday it will remove artificial colors from its U.S. food and beverage products by mid-2026, according to CBS.
“We are always looking for different ways to offer great tasting, compelling choices for our consumers. As their diverse dietary preferences and nutritional needs evolve, we evolve with them,” said Nestlé U.S. CEO Marty Thompson. “Serving and delighting people is at the heart of everything we do and every decision that we make,” he added.
The company said it has gradually eliminated synthetic dyes over the past decade, with 90% of its U.S. portfolio already dye-free. However, some products like Nesquik Banana Strawberry milk still contain Red 3.
Nestlé previously pledged to remove artificial dyes in 2015 but did not fully follow through.
CBS writes that other major food companies are making similar moves. Kraft Heinz and General Mills both announced plans last week to eliminate artificial dyes from U.S. products by 2027. General Mills also aims to remove them from cereals and all K–12 school foods by mid-2026.
Public and regulatory pressure is growing. A recent AP-NORC poll shows about two-thirds of Americans support removing dyes and added sugars from processed foods. California and West Virginia have banned artificial dyes in school meals, and Texas will require a new warning label starting in 2027 for foods with ingredients "not recommended for human consumption" in Australia, Canada, the EU, or the U.K.
Federal oversight is increasing as well. In January, just before President Trump took office, Red 3 was banned from food due to cancer concerns. In April, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and FDA Commissioner Marty Makary said the agency would seek to phase out synthetic dyes by the end of 2026, relying largely on voluntary action from the food industry.
