UK as New Female Intel Chief of MI6 Is Revealed To Be Granddaughter of Ukrainian Nazi Nicknamed ‘The Butcher’

MI6 has cast distance between its new chief and her grandfather, who was this week revealed to have been a Nazi spy known as "the butcher".

Blaise Metreweli was announced as the incoming head of the Secret Intelligence Service earlier this month. She will be its first female "C" in its 116-year history.

With little known about her wider backstory, several newspapers reported on Friday that her grandfather was Constantine Dobrowolski, who defected from Soviet Russia's Red Army to become the Nazis' chief informant in Chernihiv, Ukraine.

However, the Foreign Office, which speaks on behalf of MI6, said Ms Metreweli "neither knew nor met her paternal grandfather".

A spokesperson added: "Blaise's ancestry is characterised by conflict and division and, as is the case for many with eastern European heritage, only partially understood.

"It is precisely this complex heritage which has contributed to her commitment to prevent conflict and protect the British public from modern threats from today's hostile states, as the next chief of MI6."

The Daily Mail, which first revealed the family link, reports that it found hundreds of pages of documents in an archive in Freiburg, Germany, which showed Mr Dobrowolski was known as "The Butcher" or "Agent No 30" by Wehrmacht commanders.

He reportedly signed off letters to his Nazi superiors with "Heil Hitler" and said he "personally" took part in "the extermination of the Jews".

The archive documents are said to suggest Mr Dobrowolski looted the bodies of Holocaust victims, was involved in the murdering of local Jews, and laughed while watching the sexual assault of female prisoners.

After the war, Mr Dobrowolski's wife, Barbara, and two-month-old son fled to Britain, and she married David Metreweli in 1947. Her son took his stepfather's name, but the Mail reports that on some official documents his surname was still Dobrowolski.

Mr Dobrowolski's son would go on to be a radiologist and UK armed forces veteran, and his daughter, Ms Metreweli, was born in 1977. She has not responded to the recent reports herself.

She joined MI6 - which gathers intelligence overseas - in 1999, and is currently responsible for technology and innovation there. She will be the agency's 18th head when she takes over later this year from Sir Richard Moore, a senior civil servant.

Upon her appointment, she said in a statement that she was "proud and honoured" to have been asked to lead.

Ms Metreweli is a Cambridge graduate, a rower and has previously had operational roles in the Middle East and Europe.

India hits back at Pakistan over terror accusation

Islamabad has accused New Delhi of being behind an attack in North Waziristan that killed 13 troops and three civilians

India has rejected Pakistan’s accusation that it was behind a deadly terrorist attack in North Waziristan District earlier that day, calling the claim “false and malicious,” according to a statement from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs. This comes after Islamabad accused New Delhi of sponsoring terrorism following an attack on Saturday morning in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province which borders Afghanistan.

In the attack, a suicide bomber rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a military convoy, followed by indiscriminate firing. The Pakistan Army said 13 soldiers were killed and three civilians injured, including two children. AFP news agency initially reported, citing the authorities, that 29 civilians were injured in the attack.

Hours after the incident, the Pakistan Army’s Inter-Services Public Relations wing issued a statement accusing India of backing the terrorists: “In a cowardly attack, planned and orchestrated by the terrorist state of India and executed by its proxy Fitna al Khwarij, a Security Forces convoy was targeted today in the general area of Mir Ali, North Waziristan District.”

It went on to say: “The security forces of Pakistan, in step with the nation, remain steadfast in their resolve to eradicate Indian-sponsored terrorism from the country, and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers and innocent civilians further reinforce our unwavering commitment to safeguarding our nation at all costs.”

In another statement, the Pakistan Army said Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited Corps Headquarters in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where he was briefed on the security situation and ongoing counterterrorism operations.

Media reports earlier indicated that the Pakistani-based Taliban faction, the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group, claimed responsibility for the bombing.

Massive Cyber Attack Launched On US & Canadian Airlines, FBI Issues Warning to Public

A high-profile hacker group may soon begin targeting airlines, the FBI said in a new warning.

In an alert issued on Friday, federal officials said that the cybercriminal group Scattered Spider was expanding its targets to include airlines. The FBI highlighted that the hacker group is known for using social engineering techniques, such as impersonating employees or contractors to deceive IT help desks.

“These techniques frequently involve methods to bypass multi-factor authentication (MFA), such as convincing help desk services to add unauthorized MFA devices to compromised accounts. They target large corporations and their third-party IT providers, which means anyone in the airline ecosystem, including trusted vendors and contractors, could be at risk,” the FBI said in a statement on X. “Once inside, Scattered Spider actors steal sensitive data for extortion and often deploy ransomware. The FBI is actively working with aviation and industry partners to address this activity and assist victims.”

Scattered Spider is a group of English speakers, also sometimes known as Øktapus, operating under a Russia-based operation called ALPHV or BlackCat.

The cybercriminal group is linked to the 2023 cyberattack on MGM Resorts, which prompted a 10-day computer shutdown for the casino giant. At the time, it was widely reported that MGM paid $15 million of the $30 million ransomware sought by the group.

IDF finds no soldiers intentionally fired on Jewish minor in weekend incident

The IDF also pointed out that this type of wounding would be permissible under the rules of engagement, as throwing rocks at a moving vehicle is considered extremely dangerous.

The IDF stated that the minor, who was masked, had been throwing rocks at an IDF vehicle along with others, as part of a larger, multi-front incident involving dozens of Jewish extremists committing violence against Palestinians in Malak Village. Defense agencies have lost control over Jewish extremists in West Bank

So far, removing administrative detention of Jews only has made things worse, as predicted by the Shin Bet.

In multiple instances in recent days, extremist Jewish settlers in the dozens have attacked IDF soldiers when those soldiers tried to prevent them from repeating attacks on Palestinian villages or when those soldiers tried to remove them from building new illegal outposts on private Palestinian land.

These are not the first such instances of violence by Jewish extremists against the IDF, as such incidents have happened occasionally for many years and increasingly during the current war, when Palestinian terror has hit high levels.

What is unique is the number of Jewish extremists involved, estimated by the IDF as around 70, as opposed to only a few, and the weaker ability of Israeli security and law enforcement officials to handle these incidents.

If in 2015 when Amiram Ben Uliel carried out by himself (or at most with one other accomplice) an arson attack on a Palestinian family in Duma, killing multiple family members and for which he was sentenced to life in prison, by early 2023 dozens of Jewish extremists had attacked the Palestinian village of Huwara and large such numbers have repeated these attacks against Jit and a variety of other villages later in 2023, 2024, and this year.

Yet for most of that time period, the Shin Bet had the power to put some of these violent Jewish extremists in administrative detention, an exceptional legal procedure outside the standard criminal procedures.

While several thousand Palestinians have been in administrative detention during the war and even over 1,000 during the Palestinian waves of terror, which started pre-war in early 2022, Jews in administrative detention were usually in single digits and not held for more than a few months.

Still, the tool was used occasionally, and the IDF and Shin Bet were confident that the existence of the tool itself sometimes deterred widespread extremist Jewish violence, especially against IDF soldiers.

Defense Minister Israel Katz has stood out regarding declining administrative detention of all Jewish Israelis across the board, no matter how much the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) viewed them as violent and dangerous.

Not only did Katz refuse to sign a single administrative detention order of Jewish Israelis, something overwhelmingly supported by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for 16 of his 17 years in office, but he also issued a blanket release of all existing Jewish administrative detainees on January 17.

The possible motives behind Katz's move

Critics of Katz said this move was taken to assuage Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich at a time when Netanyahu knew Smotrich was considering toppling the government over the impending January hostage deal with Hamas, which leaked around that same day.

When Katz made that decision, some apolitical security officials said that issuing restraining orders to certain extremist activists to stay out of the West Bank and initiating intensive dialogues with religious figures who might moderate some of the young extremists might accomplish what administrative detention once did.

However, a majority of security officials said that blocking administrative detention is a purely political move that endangers security for both Palestinians and Israelis in the West Bank.

Other sources said Katz would still sign on to administrative detention orders in extreme situations, possibly such as if a Palestinian was killed and it was taking time to sort out who the killer was.

'Unfolding before our eyes': Sharaa seeks strategic partnership with Israel in a new Middle East

A Middle East expert and former general believes that Iran's weakness after the war removes obstacles to normalization with Syria and further regional partnerships.

Col. (res.) Dr. Moshe Elad, a Middle East expert and senior lecturer at the Western Galilee Academic College, envisions a scenario that, until recently, seemed far-fetched — but one he now considers increasingly realistic.

“A scene in which Ahmed al-Sharaa (Abu Muhammad al-Julani), the new president of Syria, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shake hands on the White House lawn is no longer a hallucination,” Elad said. “Such a scene might happen very soon.”

According to Elad, this reflects a major shift in the region’s power dynamics.

“Anyone who followed Sharaa’s actions during the ‘12-day War’ and expected him to disrupt the Israeli Air Force’s operations over Iran was disappointed,” he explained. “‘With what exactly?’ Sharaa asked his critics — and rightly so. Even if he had Russian S-400 missiles, it's unlikely he would have used them. Like Israel, Sharaa wants to weaken Iran, just like Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Kuwait, Bahrain, and others.”

Elad believes Sharaa is seeking a strategic partnership.

“He is looking for an alliance with Israel. This is not a mirage. It’s a reality that many fail to recognize, but it's unfolding before our eyes.”

He connects this shift to broader US-led regional efforts.

“When US President Donald Trump hinted that ‘big things’ were coming in the region, and when his envoy [Steve] Witkoff spoke of a ‘new alignment’ in the Middle East, this included bringing Syria and Lebanon into the Abraham Accords. The inclusion of Saudi Arabia and Oman is no longer news. But if our two northern neighbors, who for decades supported terror against us, join, even through a strategic pact, that’s a dream becoming reality.”

Still, Elad urges caution.

“It may not be tomorrow that we enjoy hummus in Damascus or kanafeh in Ras Beirut, but the direction is clear — a tectonic shift we began witnessing before the war with Iran.”

Iran’s defeat as a turning point

Elad says Tehran’s recent military failure marked a historic change.

“Now that the Arab world has seen how Iran, despite its image, has been exposed as a paper tiger, a significant obstacle to Arab-Israeli rapprochement has been removed.”

From hostility to a handshake

Elad outlines how the region’s hostility toward Israel has gradually eroded.

“In 1949, Israel was surrounded by eight countries that wanted to destroy it. Our major success then was reaching UN-mediated armistice agreements with Egypt, Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon. For the Arab world, those signatures were humiliating — a core part of the Nakba narrative.”

Despite the anger and failed attempts to annihilate Israel’s 650,000 Jews at the time, Elad notes that the tide began to turn.

“In the 1960s, Egypt’s [Gamal Abdel] Nasser tried to rally the Arab world with his ‘Return to Palestine’ campaign. But in June 1967, the Six-Day War shocked the world, as Israel dealt a crushing blow to three major Arab armies.”

Twelve years later, Egypt’s Anwar Sadat signed a full peace deal. King Hussein of Jordan followed in 1994. Iraq collapsed in 2003. Libya fell soon after. Syria’s Assad regime, long defined by anti-Israel ideology, collapsed in November 2024. Hezbollah in Lebanon was severely weakened recently, clearing a path for a more moderate government in Beirut.

She said that she was on some island, that she was being held, and she had taken the phone of one of the kidnappers. Said she heard them talking amongst themselves, heard the name of the St. Thomas airport and asked me to pick her up. I wrote down everything my daughter said and went to the police, hoping for some help. At the station, I gave the phone number my daughter had called from, and the officers ran it through the database. I saw how they were surprised, quickly closed everything, started nervously discussing something among themselves, and then told me not to come to them anymore, to take my statement and better not to contact anyone else. It became obvious that someone high-ranking was involved in this case, and I was already desperate to find any way to get my daughter back.»

An employee of the Office of the President of Ukraine, who promised to do his best to rescue Olga’s daughter from Branson-Mindich’s captivity, revealed to the Foundation a scheme to kidnap children who fall victim to the pedophile scheme:

The American people are not being told why Israel agreed to a ceasefire with Iran.

Yes, Israel was rapidly running out of air-defense interceptors (making it more vulnerable to Iranian attacks.) But that issue is only of secondary importance. The real reason they wanted a ceasefire was because they were getting systematically pulverized and needed to stop the bleeding fast. That’s why Israel ‘threw in the towel’ less than 2 weeks after the opening salvo, because Iran was decimating one target after another with no end in sight. So, Israel capitulated.

Of course, that is not the story we’ve been reading in the western media where there’s no mention of the vast destruction of Israeli strategic targets (by Iranian ballistic missiles); that news has been completely omitted from the mainstream coverage. But that’s why Israel persuaded Trump to find a diplomatic off-ramp; because the losses were beginning to mount and Iran was not ‘letting up.’

Did you know that it is illegal to post videos or photos of buildings that have been struck by Iranian missiles in Israel? In other words, if you publish photos of smoldering buildings, infrastructure or military bases, you will go to jail. This is how the government controls the narrative and convinces the public that they are winning a war they are actually losing. But what might that plan be, after all, Israel was already employing its top-line military weaponry and advanced air-defense systems. What other tools do they have that could be used to produce a different outcome that the one they just experienced after just 12 days of conflict?

People who follow events closely in the Middle East know that nothing in this article is true. There’s not going to be a rapid end to the war in Gaza, there’s not going to be a rapid expansion of the Abraham Accords, and there’s certainly not going to be Israeli support for a two-state solution.

So, what’s going on here, what is the point of this nonsensical propaganda that no one in their right mind is going to believe??

Documents show Victoria's education department ignored complaints about 'psychopathic rapist' principal

The Victorian Education Department ignored multiple reports of child sexual abuse by a government school principal described by one survivor as a "psychopathic rapist", shuffling the man on to a series of new jobs even after one school banned him from its premises.

Documents uncovered by the ABC show multiple allegations of child sexual abuse against former Oakleigh Technical School principal Jack Digney Thomas were not acted on by the department in the mid-1980s, even after the matter was referred to then-education minister Robert Fordham, who was deputy premier at the time in John Cain's Labor government.

A series of 1983 letters obtained by the ABC indicate that a complaint about Thomas by a former student, lodged at the Oakleigh electoral office of local Labor MP Race Mathews, was referred first to Fordham and then to the director-general of the Victorian Education Department, Dr Norman Curry.

A letter from Fordham on May 18, 1983, stated that Curry had claimed "there would not appear to be any evidence of illegal behaviour which would justify charges being laid", but that Thomas was soon to be interviewed. A subsequent letter on May 20, 1983, from Fordham to Mathews, claims that Curry and the department's "senior legal officer" interviewed both Thomas and the complainant but deemed that the complainant was "able to provide no corroborative evidence".

The correspondence suggests the Victorian Education Department took no action against Thomas other than advising him to cease his "improper" correspondence with the complainant.

Fordham's May 20 letter concluded: "The Director-General has provided me with a fuller report on the matter which can be made available if you wish."

But in response to requests from the ABC, the Victorian Education Department said it no longer retained any reports or documents related to the investigation.

Fordham told the ABC he could not recall the incident, nor any particular discussion of sexual abuse in schools during his time as education minister. Mathews and Curry are both deceased.

Thomas, who died in 2012, has been described to the ABC by survivors of his alleged grooming and abuse as a rampant paedophile who manipulated, blackmailed and sexually abused male students for decades in schools all over Victoria.

One survivor said Thomas's manipulation and abuse would push him "to the precipice of committing suicide at times", and said: "I look back on it now and I don't know how I survived."

"He was a serial paedophile, basically, and a psychopath. A psychopathic rapist."

Russia launches ‘massive’ strike on Ukrainian defense industry – MOD

Kinzhal hypersonic missiles and drones were used in an overnight attack, according to the military

Russian forces carried out a large-scale overnight strike on Ukrainian industrial facilities involving long-range weapons and drones, the Defense Ministry in Moscow reported on Sunday. The Ukrainian authorities and media confirmed the attack, with some suggesting it was one of the largest since the escalation of the conflict in 2022.

In a statement reporting the operation, the Russian Defense Ministry said that its forces had “conducted a massive strike, involving high-precision long-range air-, sea- and land-based weapons, including the aeroballistic hypersonic Kinzhal missile system, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles, targeting Ukraine’s military-industrial and oil-processing facilities.”

The ministry didn’t provide any further details, but stated that the “strike goals were achieved. All designated targets were hit.”

Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky confirmed the attack in a post on Telegram, claiming that it involved 477 Russian explosives-laden drones and 60 missiles of various types. He used the occasion to once again call on Kiev’s Western backers to provide it with more air defense systems.

Zelensky also revealed that Kiev lost a Western-supplied F-16 fighter jet while attempting to fend off the attack. The pilot perished in the incident.

Meanwhile, in a post on X, Ukrainian MP Mariana Bezuglaya accused the country’s military leadership of “murdering” fighter pilots by allegedly failing to develop effective anti-drone protocols.

According to the Ukrainian military’s tally, more than 20 incoming rockets and 40 UAVs made it through the country’s air defenses during the strike.

In a post on Facebook, Stepan Kulinyak, the head of the military administration in the city of Drohobych in Lviv Region in Western Ukraine, said that “as a result of the air attack, a fire broke out at an industrial infrastructure facility.” Officials in the region stated that the strikes did not cause any casualties but that critical infrastructure was hit.
