Ever consider the space underneath a helicopter could be used to house a parachute to lessen impact in cases of emergencies? Most gear is fixed, and something could be retrofitted that could be incorporated with a gyroscope to detect when it hits a threshold angle with pilot overrides. Even if you have to make the landing gear a little taller, it might be the differnce between survivability or not. I have noticed most crashes, the pilot has time to react if there was proper implementations, such as maybe rotor lock or ejections. Consider the angle of most crashes, they are either nose or top firsts, and a deploy might work in many situations. Just a consideration.
