That's EXACTLY how it works. Unless they have reason to believe the child is in imminent danger, they need to get a warrant, but as usual cops and CPS will lie to the public in order to violate rights. When a citizen denies entry, continuing to hound them is harassing them in order to violate rights. People shouldn't have to argue with cops, who swear an oath to uphold our rights, in order for cops to uphold and respect those rights.
"You're trespassing, I order you to leave my property/curtilage immediately".
Then when they don't, inform they're criminally trespassing and have been ordered off the property.
