I once did a dig on Summer camps, one in Georgia for the Jewish elite kids, and found it to be cultish and creepy.

off season it was a destination location for frens of the people at that school shooting where David Hogg showed up and pretended to be at the school when the shooting happened. They held political seminars there. The camp was in a choice place in Georgia. Seemed to be about political indoctrination.
I never posted the dig because I didn't want to kick the hornet's nest and I wasn't sure if my conclusions were correct.
honestly, I'd have to check to see if it were tax free, but I bet it is because it was a foundation that had multiple camps and that crowd always sets up to be tax free.
many times when there are flash floods during heavy rains it's a dam that wasn't maintained on private property that bursts due to the large influx of water. If the dams are maintained or removed such flash floods do not happen.
Ice dams can also burst and cause sudden floods.
Or in the High Desert rain water from hundreds of miles away will rush down a dry river. But people don't camp or dwell in such a place so the risk is less.
however, there are times when such avoidable tragedies happen. I remember one near Page, Arizona where a lot of tourists were drowned in a place like Cork Screw canyon. They were told to leave but they went back in, so said the ticket seller.
and in New Mexico there is the story of the weeping woman who is supposedly a ghost who haunts the river in times of flood, or before the floods, searching for her lost child.
the story seems to be designed to scare people away from the river bed during times when floods might happen. And it's not clear to me if she killed the baby purposefully . . . or was just stupid to leave the kid unattended. (it's a story, so . . . )
And of course there was that flood in New Hampshire where the kids wouldn't stop for the police because the police had been randomly road-blocking people at the midnight hour to check for drug use . . . and the kids must have thought that was what it was. So they just ran through the road block to try to drive over a bridge that wasn't there anymore. After that those types of road blocks seemed to just never happen anymore.
also I was told that the real reason for the flood was a dam burst on private property (by a local who was pissed off at me for being interested in the scene). The news of a dam burst never hit the websites and newspapers. I never was able to verify if that was what it was that caused the flash flood, but I figure it was.
