MILITARY OPERATION IN UKRAINE

4 JUL, 06:35

Ex-Ukrainian soldier lets Russian troops hide out in his house for two weeks

According to the soldier, Russian servicemen stayed with him for about 16 days, while the Ukrainians were just a stone's throw away

DONETSK, July 4. /TASS/. A former soldier of the 91st Separate Okhtyrka Brigade of the Ukrainian army, Alexander Postoyenko, told TASS that he sheltered a group of Russian servicemen in his house for two weeks while Ukrainian troops were stationed nearby.

"Our village was bombed with Baba Yaga drones. Ukraine was leveling it. And then these guys [Russian servicemen] came. I live in the suburbs, near the reservoir. They came over here, to our neighbor, to my house, and I took them in. They stayed with me for about 16 days, while the Ukrainians were just a stone's throw away," the man said.

According to him, this happened in a village near Krasnoarmeysk shortly before he was wounded in shelling.Together with his son, he had to evacuate to the Dnepropetrovsk Region, where he was later forced into army service.

Earlier, Postoyenko described to TASS howhe escaped from the Ukrainian army and walked 100 kilometers to surrender to the Russian Armed Forces.

BRYAN DEAN WRIGHT: John Brennan was my boss at the CIA. He belongs in prison 1/2

Five key details emerge about how intelligence was allegedly manipulated to undermine Trump's presidency

July 3, 2025 12:33pm EDT

Former CIA Director John Brennan was once my boss. Given what we just learned in a shocking new report about his role in the Trump Russia hysteria, he should be in prison.

Here’s why.

The CIA released fresh details yesterday about the creation nearly 10 years ago of the agency’s Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) of Russia's influence campaign in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. It found that Russian President Vladimir Putin "aspired" to help then-candidate Donald Trump win the election. That assessment – ordered by then-President Barack Obama and executed by Brennan – ignited the Trump-Russia hoax that would haunt Trump’s presidency for four years.

We’re now learning five key details Brennan used to cook the books to ensure maximum damage to Trump.

1) Brennan lied about his use of the discredited Steele dossier

He told The Wall Street Journal in January of 2017 he never read it and gave it no particular credence.

He was lying.

As hisformer staffers now admit, Brennan specifically pushedfor the inclusion of the dossier in the ICA despite explicit warnings from his top operational and analytical management that the dossier "didn’t meet the most basic [of] tradecraft standards."

Brennan said he didn’t care.

As we’re now learning, he said he wanted it included because it "fit narrative consistency" — aka Trump Russia collusion — and thatthen-FBI Director James Comey was demanding the same.

That’s shocking, because both Comey and Brennan’s agencies had investigated its allegations in the fall of 2016 and found them not to be credible.

But both Comey and Brennan still wanted it in, simply and clearly to destroy President Trump.

2) Brennan manipulated who would write the ICA

As we’re now learning,Brennan demanded that his agency take the lead in drafting the ICA, intentionally blockingout other intel agencies and the National Intelligence Council.

As the new report confirms, that decision "depart[ed] significantly from standard procedures for formal IC assessments."

But why would Brennan do that?

As a former CIA officer, I know why: He wanted to control the authors (his employees), their assessment, any dissent, and their careers if they crossed him.

3) Brennan interfered in the ICA’s drafting

As the new report confirms,"Direct engagement in the ICA's development[by agency head Brennan] was highly unusual in both scope and intensity. This exceptional level of senior involvementlikely influenced participants, altered normal review processes, and ultimately compromised analytic rigor."

In other words, Brennan knew he could make or break the careers of his analysts. And so he did— ensuring that he got the exact ICA he wanted, which included the junk dossier and a single-source intel report on fabricated "Trump-Russia Collusion."

2/2

4) Brennan rushed the completion of the ICA

As we’re now learning,CIA analysts felt "jammed"by Brennan’s timeline to produce the ICA by late December 2016 —despite the fact that "the election had concluded, and the ICA was essentially a post-mortem analysis."

The highly compressed timeline was "atypical" for an ICA, which "ordinarily can take months to prepare, especially for assessments of such length, complexity, and political sensitivity."

But Brennan didn’t care. He wanted this ICA done by the time Trump got into office.

5) Brennan (and Comey) spread the ICA far and wide to leak it

The new report confirms thatBrennan and Comey shared the ICA with "more than 200 U.S. officials. This is unusually high for such a highly compartmented product…"

In other words, they briefed it to leak it — to destroy Trump.

In fact, that’s what The New York Times suspected, too.As they asked their readers in January of 2017, why would Brennan and Comey have briefed and shared the discredited dossier "to multiple people in Congress and the executive branch, virtually assuring it would be leaked?"

The answer: Brennan and Comey spread the ICA (and dossier) far and wideto ensure it all leakedand hobbled Donald Trump — and destroyed his presidency.

Bottom line:John Brennan, James Comey, and their fellow anti-Trumpers in the U.S. intel communityintentionally tried to destroy the presidency of Donald Trump— with a tightly controlled, scripted, rushed, and poorly sourced ICA (and dossier).

In doing so, they tried to destroy not just President Trump, but also the Republic itself. And that’s why this still matters.

These men thought they knew what was best for America, and they didn’t give a damn what voters like you thought. It was their country – not yours – and they were willing to act with their profound powers to destroy a politician they didn’t like.

That’s why these men deserve to rot in prison, along with anyone in the Obama White House or Clinton campaign who colluded with them.

(This brings up the fact when many other IC agents participated, they should be identified and prosecuted now, until the last one is at least out of government.)

Xi Jinping’s surprise no-show at BRICS Summit fuels speculation about China's global standing 1/2

The first-ever absence by Xi from the key emerging economies gathering raises questions about China's dominance in the fractious alliance

July 5, 2025 10:00am EDT

Chinese President Xi Jinping will not attend this week’s BRICS Summit in Brazil, marking the first time the Chinese leader has missed the gathering of major emerging economies. The abrupt decision hastriggered widespread speculation about internal political dynamics within China and the fraying cohesion of BRICS itself.

China’s official explanation — a "scheduling conflict" and the fact that Xi already met with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva earlier this year, according to the South China Morning Post — has been met with skepticism. Premier Li Qiang will attend the summit in Xi’s place, continuing a recent trend of Xi scaling back his appearances on the global stage.

"That doesn’t make sense," said Gordon Chang, an expert on U.S.-China relations. "There are many other countries at the BRICS summit, not just Brazil. To me, it’s extremely significant that Xi Jinping is not going. It suggests turbulence at home— there are signs he’s lost control of the military and that civilian rivals are reasserting power. This is a symptom of that."

Bryan Burack of the Heritage Foundation agrees that Xi’s absence underscores deeper issues:"It’s another indication that BRICS is not going to be China’s vassalization of the Global South." He noted that countries like Brazil and Indonesia have recently imposed tariffs on China over industrial overcapacity and dumping, moves that suggest widening rifts within the group.

"China is actively harming all those countries for the most part, maybe with some exceptions, through its malign trade policies and dumping and overcapacity."

Tensions with India and global trade pressure may also be factors

Some analysts point to rising China-India frictionas a contributing factor in Xi’s decision to skip the summit.

"China has been at war with India for decades, essentially," Burack said. "These are fundamentally opposing interests. It’s difficult to see China changing its behavior in the near term, and that will keep tensions high."

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to take a leading role at the gathering, potentially another deterrent for Xi’s attendance.

Another key leader — Russian President Vladimir Putin — is only expected to address the group by video.

BRICS: United in name, divided in decades-long tensions

Formed by Brazil, Russia, India and China and later joined by South Africa,BRICS was envisioned as a non-Western counterweight to G7 dominance. It has expanded to include Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, the UAE and, most recently, Indonesia, strengthening its economic footprint.

Economist Christian Briggs highlighted BRICS’s massive scale: "BRICS now comprises 12 full members and up to 23 when counting partners. Collectively, they accountfor over 60% of the world’s GDP and around 75% of the global population. They control vast natural resources and a growing share of global trade flows."

Yet despite its scale, the bloc remains ideologically and strategically fragmented. "It’s a group of countries that hate each other," Burack said bluntly. "China is harming many of them through unfair trade practices. There’s not a lot of incentive for real unity."

Currency ambitions and strategic divergences

The alliance’s aspirations to challenge the U.S. dollar through alternative payment systems and apotential BRICS currency have gained media traction — but experts caution against overestimating this threat.

"There’s been a lot of fearmongering about a BRICS currency," said Burack. "But the interests of these countries are completely divergent. There’s more smoke than fire when it comes to a currency challenge to the dollar."

Chang echoed this skepticism: "The only country that can challenge the dollar is the United States. Weakness in the dollar is due to what we are doing domestically, not what the BRICS are doing."

Still, Briggs offered a counterpoint, arguing that BRICS members are already reshaping global currency flows.

"They’re moving away from the dollar into digital yuan, rupees, rubles.China has launched a SWIFT alternative already adopted by the Caribbean banking sector — trillions of dollars are shifting."

Is BRICS still a threat to U.S. influence?

While its cohesion remains questionable, BRICS poses a long-term challenge to U.S. influence —particularly in regions where Washington has retreated diplomatically and economically.

"China filled the void left by the U.S. in places like Africa,"said Briggs. "Now it controls about 38% of the world’s minerals. Meanwhile, Russia’s economy has doubled despite sanctions, because they preemptively reduced reliance on the dollar."

Yet Chang sees India as a brake on any aggressive anti-Western tilt. "BRICS has an ‘I’ in it—and that’s India.Modi doesn’t want to be part of an anti-Western bloc. As long as India’s in BRICS, the rest of the world is safe."

A missed opportunity — or a calculated power move?

To some, Xi's no-show signals instability in Beijing. To others, the opposite: it demonstrates confidence in China's dominance over the other BRICS members.

"He doesn’t have to be there," Briggs contended. "Xi’s power allows him to delegate. China is trading with nearly 80% of the world now. He’s moving the agenda forward even in absentia."

What’s clear is that BRICS continues to evolve— its internal contradictions as visible as its geopolitical ambitions. Whether Xi's absence marks a retreat or a recalibration remains one of the key questions hovering over the summit in Brazil.

Trump White House calls out Smithsonian for pushing 'one-sided, divisive political narratives'

Controversial museum exhibit frames American icons like Mickey Mouse and The Lone Ranger through critical, politically-charged lens

July 5, 2025 4:20am EDT1/2

EXCLUSIVE: The Trump administration is turning its attention to the Smithsonian Institution, accusing the taxpayer-funded museum complex of using federal dollars to promote what it calls "one-sided, divisive political narratives" that fail to honor the greatness of the American story.

White House officialLindsey Halligan blasted contentcurrently on display at the National Museum of American History’s Entertainment Nation exhibit in an exclusive email to Fox News Digital.

The exhibit, which explores American pop culture, has drawn internal and external criticism for what some see as apolitically loaded interpretation of cultural milestones.

"American taxpayers should not be funding institutions that undermine our country or promote one-sided, divisive political narratives," Halligan said. "The Smithsonian Institution should present history in a way that is accurate, balanced, and consistent with the values that make the United States of America exceptional."

The White House statement comes on the heels of several striking examples from the exhibit.

One placard, featured alongside a 1923 circus poster, reads: "Under the big top, circuses expressed the colonial impulse to claim dominion over the world." Another, describing early American entertainment, declares: "One of the earliest defining traits of entertainment in the United States was extraordinary violence."

The exhibit reframes iconic American characters through a critical, politically-charged lens. On The Lone Ranger, the display states: "The White title character’s relationship with Tonto resembled how the U.S. government imagined itself the world’s Lone Ranger."

Mickey Mouse, a beloved American cultural icon, is not spared either. A display for the 1928 cartoon Steamboat Willie states,"Mickey challenged authority, but not everyone was in on the joke."

It continues: "Mickey Mouse debuted as the deckhand ‘Steamboat Willie’ in 1928, amidst a rising anxiety felt by many that modern living and city life were eroding family and community ties and loosening moral codes… But the new character’s outsized facial features, white gloves, and trickster temperamentwere vestiges of longstanding traditions of blackface minstrelsy."

In reference to the Indiana Jones film series, another panel reads: "His character embodied a confident righteousness that, in many ways, captured the essence of the 1980s" above another subhead referencing President Ronald Reagan's famous speech, asking, "Are you better off?"

One panel calls Magnum, P.I. a challenge to the "popular perceptions of Vietnam veterans as damaged misfits." A section on Jon Stewart’s Daily Show refers to it as "the go-to for viewers who mistrusted politicians and the reporting process."

Another panel highlights the late pop star Selena Quintanilla-Pérez and frames her cultural impact through identity politics.

"Selena got us talking about identity," with a quote from the late singer reading, "I feel very proud to be Mexican."

The text goes on to say her work "cast a light on the longstanding cultural and growing political influence of Mexican American and Latinx communities within the United States."

"The examples [Fox News Digital] highlighted from the National Museum of American Historyare part of the problemthe Trump Administration aims to fix," Halligan said. "Framing American culture as inherently violent, imperialist, or racist does not reflect the greatness of our nationor the millions of Americans who have contributed to its progress."

Halligan confirmed that a top-to-bottom content review is already underway, with input from senior Smithsonian leaders and the Board of Regents. "We are working with leadership at the Smithsonian to audit and review all content at the museums," she said, "and we are committed to ensuring that such content honors our country’s founding principles, tells the stories of American heroes, and does not promote fringe or activist ideologies masquerading as history."

She added, "We will provide updates on this audit as our progress unfolds."

The Smithsonian Institution responded to Fox News Digital with the following brief written statement: "The museum is committed to continuous and rigorous scholarship and research and unbiased presentation of facts and history. As such, and as previously announced, we are assessing content in Smithsonian museums and will make any necessary changes to ensure our content meets our standards."

The Institution did not answer specific questions regardingwho authored the Entertainment Nation exhibit, whether outside academic consultants or activist organizations were involved, or who made the decision to present all exhibit text bilingually in English and Spanish.

The controversy comes amid abroader push by President Donald Trump to reshape cultural institutions he says have veered too far left.

In March, Trump issued an executive order directing the Board of Regents to eliminate "improper, divisive or anti-American ideology" from Smithsonian museums. He accused the institution of embracing what he called "a revisionist movement" aimed at "undermining the remarkable achievements of the United Statesby casting its founding principles and historical milestones in a negative light."

The Board of Regents includes the vice president, the chief justice of the United States, six members of Congress, and nine citizen regents.

Vice President J.D. Vance and Congressman Carlos Giménez, both recent appointees, have advocated for an expedited review of Smithsonian content. Giménez, in a prior interview with The Wall Street Journal, confirmed tensions at the board’s June meeting over how quickly to proceed, though ultimately a compromise was reached.

The Smithsonian receives approximately two-thirds of its $1 billion annual budget from federal appropriations.

The Entertainment Nation exhibit opened in December 2022 and was billed as a permanent exhibitionto "celebrate the power of popular culture to shape and reflect history." It is housed in a prime space on the museum’s west wing and features artifacts and media from movies, television, sports, and music.

While the museum’s stated goal is to explore how entertainment intersects with American identity, theTrump administration argues that it instead uses culture to smuggle in ideology often at odds with the values most Americans hold.

"Americans deserve a Smithsonian that inspires national pride, tells the truth, and reflects the greatness of this country," Halligan said."Not one that serves as an agent for social change and cultural subversion."

(Interesting when Trump and Putin spoke, the both spoke about them teaming up to promote our cultures, with films.)

Serial killer fears grip Texas community after dozens of bodies pulled from lake: 'Cannot be ignored'

Forensic psychiatrist questions authorities' dismissal of Lady Bird Lake serial killer theory as another young man is found dead

July 5, 2025 6:00am EDT

The waters of a Texas lake remainshrouded in mystery as dozens of young men’s bodies continue to be pulled from the depths, putting a community on edge as rumors of a serial killer continue to swirl.

Last month, authorities discovered yetanother man’s body in Austin’s Lady Bird Lake, bringing the total count to a whopping 38 individuals recovered from the waters since 2022.

Officials responded to an early-morning 911 call reporting a body in the water and subsequently located the deceased man, the Austin Police Department (APD) said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

There was no trauma to the body, and police do not suspect foul play was involved, the APD said. The department is currently working to determine whether the body recovered is a 17-year-old male reported missing two days earlier.

The teen’s family called police after he got out of his kayak without wearing a life jacketand subsequently disappeared while enjoying a day on the lake, authorities said. Investigators believe he had unknowingly stepped on an underwater shelf and failed to resurface after his kayak was later recovered with his backpack and life jacket still inside.

Police revealed that the individual found in the lake was wearing the same clothing as the missing teenager, but identification is pending.

The discovery comes as fears of a serial killerlurking in the community’s midst continue to loom over the area, with local authorities continuing to downplay the risk.

"The denials by law enforcement and other authorities that these cases are murders or the work of a serial killer are premature," Dr. Carole Lieberman, a forensic psychiatrist and expert trial witness, told Fox News Digital."They don’t want the public to panic about a possible serial killer, so they are making light of all the deaths."

Since 2022, at least 38 bodies have been recovered in or around Lady Bird Lake, according to data obtained by Fox 7.Of the nearly three dozen bodies found, 30 have reportedly been men, with approximately 60 percent between 30 and 49 years old.

Despite local authorities’ insistence that there is no ongoing risk to the public, Lieberman points to the sheer amount of consistencies among the victims’ ages and gender.

"The fact that 30 of the 38 bodies found in and around Lady Bird Lake since 2022 are male does suggest that this could be the work of a serial killer whose preferred target is men," Lieberman said. "If the deaths were simply due to accidental drowning or suicide, there would not be a preponderance of one gender over the other."

One common theory circulating throughout the community suggests the deaths are a result of date-rape drugs slipped into the drinks of victims visiting bars on nearby Rainey Street – a popular hotspot for partying near the water.

WATCH: Austin residents on the possibility of a serial killer on Rainey Street

In February 2023, the body of Jason John, 30, was pulled from the lake one week after he was last seen on Rainey Street. Two months later, Jonathan Honey, 33, was found one day after he was last seen visiting a food truck parked on the popular street.

"[Date-rape drugs] could render them easy prey for a thief and killer," Lieberman said. "Older men could similarly be easy prey."

Throughout the past three years, the primary cause of death of the bodies pulled from Lady Bird Lake has been attributed to accidental drownings, Fox 7 reported. Suicide reportedly remains the second leading cause, as well as natural causes and drug overdoses.

Of the 38 deaths, only one has been ruled a murder – with roughly half a dozen cases remaining unknown.

"Unless law enforcement finds some other explanation for the large number of deaths in and around Lady Bird Lake in recent years," Lieberman said."Then I think that the likelihood of a serial killer cannot be ignored."

(Austin is a deep blue county in TX and ran by leftists, their whole goal is to turn all of TX blue.)
