US Army appoints Palantir, Meta, OpenAI execs as Lt. Colonels 1/2

Four senior executives at Palantir, Meta, and OpenAI have been formally appointed lieutenant colonels in the US Army following the creation of a “special” unit created for rich Big Tech mavens seeking military leadership roles.

On June 13, the Army announced the creation ofDetachment 201, otherwise known as the “Executive Innovation Corps,” which itdescribes as “a new initiative designed to fuse cutting-edge tech expertise with military innovation.”

Four ultra-wealthy executives from top tech companies were sworn in to the unit ahead of President Trump’s heavily promoted military parade, which was itself sponsored by Palantir. The Army’s top spokesman declaredthatDetachment 201 was “being created to bring in tech innovation executives leaders to help the Army” with the recruitment and the subsequent training of “tech focused people.”

“By bringing private-sector know-how into uniform, Det. 201 is supercharging efforts like the Army Transformation Initiative, which aims to make the force leaner, smarter, and more lethal,” the Army wrote in an official statement.

Palantir is by far the S&P 500’s top performing stock of the year, thanks in large part to the gargantuan contracts it has raked in from the Trump administration. According to the company’s founder, Alex Karp, Palantir “is here to disrupt… and when it’s necessary, to scare enemies, and on occasion, kill them.”

Shares of the dystopian data firm, which is named after the all-seeing orb used by the evil wizard Saruman to surveil Middle Earth in the Lord of the Rings, skyrocketed to an all-time high following Israel’s unprovoked assault on Iran.

Elsewhere, Karp has eagerly embraced the model of disaster capitalism, remarking, “bad times are very good for Palantir because we build products… that are built for danger.”

In recent years, Palantir has come to dominate the Western information sphere,and now enjoys unfettered access to the sensitive data of citizens in countriesfrom the US to the UK. With customers including the Department of Defense, CIA, NSA, FBI, ICE, and the Special Operations Command, Palantir has become a one-stop shop for weaponized AI-based data analysis.Amid the ruins of the national security state’s obsessive search for enemies overseas, Palantir built a reputation for being both user-friendly and slavishly obedient to the military establishment.

“If you do not feel comfortable supporting the legitimate efforts of America and its allies in the context of war, don’t join Palantir,” Karp declared.

In an article published on the day that military officials revealed the creation of Detachment 201,Mumbai-born Palantir CTO Shyam Sankar revealed he was among the four membersof the “nation’s business elite” selected for a “special corps” meant to “deploy their technical talents in service of the [US] government.”

“Later today, on the eve of the U.S. Army’s 250th birthday, I will raise my right hand, take an oath to support and defend the Constitution, and commission as a lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserve’s newly formed Detachment 201: Executive Innovation Corps,” he boasted.

Sankar was joined by what he described as “some of the most impressive minds from the world of technology: Kevin Weil, the chief product officer of OpenAI; Andrew “Boz” Bosworth, the chief technology officer of Meta; and Bob McGrew, formerly the chief research officer of OpenAI and engineering director of Palantir Technologies, where I work as chief technology officer.”

The creation of the techie Poindexter Patrol was necessary, Sankar suggested,due to a geopolitical “sea change” in which “Wars in Europe and the Middle East and, above all, the threat of a war in the Pacific” have “focused the national mind and initiated a scramble for mobilization.”

Despite his obvious glee at being fast tracked to military leadership, Sankaracknowledged it was an unusual arrangement.

“A decade ago, it would’ve been unthinkable for so many tech heavyweights to openly align with the U.S. military. Equally, it would’ve been out of character for the military to enlist the support of the nation’s business elite— much less to create a special corps so they could deploy their technical talents in service of the government.”

The Palantir executive pointed to “exploding pagers and long-distance drone strikes from shipping containers” as attacks which “prove that technology has once again changed the battlefield,” and that “our military has to change with it.”

With their newly-minted lieutenant colonels a world away, Palantir’s corporate officer corps will not be rallying the troops for the next war. But safely ensconced behind their digital curtain, they’ll be watching — and talking the next generation of nerds into signing up, too.

When the Drones are Coming, They Turn Off the Internet 1/2

Some thoughts on what I would call ‘modern warfare’ for citizen preppers. Some of this experience may pertain to urban areas, some perhaps pertinent overall.

Dimitri’s wife is grabbing her purse to go to the grocery store, when he casually says “it’s 5:45.” She just as ordinarily replies, “I’ve got cash.” Dimitri sees the slightly puzzled look on my face and flippantly notes,“they turn off the internet at six thirty now,”shrugs, and goes back to reading his paper.

Perhaps similar to London life during the blitz. Various municipal govts coordinated the shut down of lights and people wait. Others got about doing what they needed to do, sirens notwithstanding.

There is a familiar life amid modern drone warfare, and with the similar control of electricity comes the need to add internet.

When the drones are coming they turn off the internet.

As I contemplate the contrasts in social resilience, my most familiar reference point is life after a hurricane. In Florida when we aredealing with the aftermath of a hurricane, no power, no water, no internet, etc., you adapt to life without modern technological conveniences.

If you’ve ever lived amid the aftermath of natural disasters,you understand the need for a plan and quick adaptation. Do it a few times and adaption becomes ordinary. Horrible in ways, yes; awkward, certainly. But you take things in stride; overcome, figure out the optimal solution and keep moving.However, not everyone is prepared to consider a disruption an ‘inconvenience’ and many people who need consistency to retain stability end up in panic. I think long term readers well understand the reference.

As Dimitri goes back to the paper my mind shifts to stuff I’ve heard in bits and pieces but never given context before.

I think about this U.S. ‘Space Force’ thing, and now realize there are people who have gamed out modern warfaremore than we discuss as a western technological society.

My mind also thinks about those reports I read a few years ago about various western govt offices concerned about the ability of Russia to target U.S. satellites.Suddenly I realize cell phone and telecommunication is not their concern.

There’s no internet; the problem is bigger than a temporary outage of Uber. I wonder how the commercial air traffic between Kazan, Moscow and St Petersburg is not disrupted. Old school stuff applies. Meanwhile, the kids, lots of them are playing outside as kids do – apparently life amid modern drone warfare is resilient. No one is staring at the sky.

It is very odd to see how quickly a non-technology driven society can adapt to no electricity and no internet as an ordinary part of daily life. An entire nation just figures out the optimal solution, in part because their time between analog and digital has been short. Russians have a totally different context of dependency.

I’m also starting to realize how the flexibility within a non-technological society is an asset in modern warfare. Turn off the internet in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles or any major metropolitan area – how would life be impacted?

I can only imagine the reactions from a generation who has never known life without wi-fi.

It would be a very good intellectual exercise to think carefully about what your life would be like without cell phone coverage or internet services. There are more than a few people who have never learned to read a clock with hands.

In Russia when the drones are coming they turn off the internet and sometimes the electricity. Stores stay open; people do the ordinary things people do, the trains still run, the busses stay on schedule and you can still get a hot coffee and a sandwich just about anywhere, albeit sans Starbucks. Private taxis, Uber equivalents, switch seamlessly to line up at pick-up points without issue. Try to duplicate that rapid on/off precision in Boston, Miami or St Louis… see my point?

Then extend those thoughts to Paris, Frankfurt, Warsaw or Helsinki. Dimitri is thinking about ordering a pizza, while I’m starting to realize why NATO countries are going bananas.

Can Russia beat Europe in modern warfare?

Well, turn off the electricity, turn off the internet and see what happens to social society in Prague, Rome or any region in Europe when the sirens start.Yeah, NATO is going bananas as Putin’s best non-discussed weapon just looms quietly.

Putin’s strongest weapon is essentially a social infrastructure akin to a nation full of people who can live in the aftermath of a hurricane without needing a digital screen to provide directions to the next six hours of their life.

Again, somewhere, in some office complex deep in the bowels of some agency or bureaucracy, someone has ran models of this and yet I cannot find a reference anywhere to ordinary people talking about it.

In the glovebox of every taxi in Russia you will find a paper map; when was the last time you saw one in the USA?

When the drones come, they always turn off the internet and sometimes the electricity.

How would we deal with that…

Palestinian Sheikhs in Hebron Ask Israel for Separate Emirates, Not StateJuly 6, 2025

A group of Palestinian sheikhs in the holy city of Hebron has written to the Israeli government formally asking to be given sovereignty over the area as an emirate, and not as part of a larger Palestinian state.

The new emirate, they say, would join the Abraham Accords, the regional agreement establishing peace between Israel and participating Arab and Muslim states. Abraham himself is said by tradition to be buried in Hebron, in the Tomb of the Patriarch, holy to Muslims and Jews.==

The initiative places a new option on the table for the resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and an alternative to the corrupt and antisemitic Palestinian Authority, which currently administers the area.

The Wall Street Journal reported Saturday:

“We want cooperation with Israel,” says Sheikh Wadee’ al-Jaabari, also known as Abu Sanad, from his ceremonial tent in Hebron, the West Bank’s largest city located south of Jerusalem. “We want coexistence.”The leader of Hebron’s most influential clan has said such things before, as did his father. But this time is different. Sheikh Jaabari and four other leading Hebron sheikhs have signed a letter pledging peace and full recognition of Israel as a Jewish state. Their plan is for Hebron to break out of the Palestinian Authority, establish an emirate of its own, and join the Abraham Accords.

The letter is addressed to Israeli Economy Minister Nir Barkat, a former mayor of Jerusalem, who has brought Mr. Jaabari and other sheikhs to his home and met with them more than a dozen times since February. They ask him to present it to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and await his reply.

“The Emirate of Hebron shall recognize the State of Israel as the nation state of the Jewish people,” the sheikhs write, “and theState of Israel shall recognize the Emirate of Hebron as the Representative of the Arab residents in the Hebron District.”Accepting Israel as a Jewish state goes further than the Palestinian Authority ever has, and sweeps aside decades of rejectionism.

The suggestion is timely: the U.S. and Israel are said to be preparing a formal peace plan that encompasses the region. The plan must make room for Palestinian aspirations in some form to win the support of Arab leaders.

By recognizing emirates, Israel could avoid the perception of rewarding Palestinian terror with statehood — and could actually achieve peace with a more credible and stable neighboring governing partner.

Hebron, located in Judea (the southern West Bank) is divided between a Jewish and Arab portion, the latter run by the Palestinian Authority, under an agreement signed in 1997.The holy Tomb of the Patriarchs is jointly run by Jewish and Muslim authorities.

Report: Federal Officials Arrest More than 200 Criminals in Joint Operation

Federal officials arrested more than 200 criminals as part of a joint operation in New Jersey called “Operation Apex Hammer,” according to a New York Post report.

The operation, which involved federal, state, and local law enforcement officials, saw 264 wanted criminals, such as illegal aliens “wanted for sex crimes” and criminals wanted for murder or sexual offenses, arrested, according to the outlet. Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey Alina Habba and United States Marshal Juan Mattos Jr. led the operation.

Per the outlet, out of thecriminals arrested, there were “17 homicide suspects, 95 gang members,” and others who were “wanted for serious violent and sexual offenses.”

The New York Post reported that law enforcement officials revealed that one Guatemalan illegal alien facing “multiple counts of sexual assault” had been arrested at the beginning of June, while a Honduran illegal alien, “wanted in Baltimore County, Md., for burglary and attempted sexual assault” had also been arrested:

Illegal Guatemalan immigrant Lorenzo Benitez, 54, was arrested on June 4 in Plainfield, NJ, and faces multiple counts of sexual assault in Keansburg, NJ, law enforcement officials said.

Darlin Franco-Guzman, 25, an illegal immigrant from Honduras, was wanted in Baltimore County, Md., for burglary and attempted sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl, and was arrested on June 10 in Trenton, the officials said.

Operation Apex Hammer was described as being a “one-month statewide violent crime reduction initiative with federal, state, and local partners” working together to “identify and apprehend” MS-13 and Tren de Aragua gang members, Fox News reported in June.

“That should concern everyone. I mean, the jury undeniably said, emphatically, we don’t believe this woman hit a guy, hit him with a car. He wasn’t by any car,which means that he was killed inside the house. It’s either one or the other,” he said. “There’s no other solution.”

“Like MS-13 didn’t just beat him up on the side of the road and kill him. Like it didn’t happen, right? So if he was inside the house, that means the people inside the house killed him. And you should probably find out exactly what happened,because these people are not only capable of murdering a police officer, but they’re also capable of covering it up after the fact,” Kearney said, asking, “Like, what happens if they kill again?”

“This should concern all of us. These people couldn’t possibly be shadier,but no investigation will take place in the district attorney’s office because the whole purpose of this was never to convict Karen Read.

I don’t think they really care if Karen Read was convicted, but they probably sleep better at night if she’s not,” he said, explaining that theentire purpose was to “cover up and not investigate the actual people who killed John O’Keefe.”

“And so, you know, the more the story blew up, I suppose, the more they did want a conviction of Karen Read, because, you know, it would vindicate and validate everything that they’ve done,but now that she’s been acquitted, it vindicates her and validates her and validates my journalism,” he said.

“Like I was asking these people who — the jury clearly agrees with me that these people were the ones responsible, in some way, shape or form, forwhatever happened to John O’Keefe, and we need answers,”he stressed.

“And I go around asking for answers, and I’m charged with felony witness intimidation,” he added.

Aidan Kearney — citizen journalist “Turtleboy” — best known now for uncovering the shocking coverup in the murder of Boston Police Officer John O’Keefe — said during an appearance on Breitbart News Saturday that he faces 105 years in jail, explaining that,in his case, you “criticize the government, and then the government comes and arrests you and puts you in jail for doing journalism and doing activism and speaking out about corruption.”

While Karen Read has been acquitted of the murder of her boyfriend despite a massive coverup, Kearney revealed, “I’m facing 105 years in jail right now.”

“I was charged. I was arrested by the State Police Fugitive Unit on October 11, 2023, right when my kids —I got my kids on the bus in the morning so that it made sure that they saw it, and I was told that I was under arrest for felony witness intimidation and picketing, which I didn’t know was a crime,” he said. “I mean, this is Massachusetts, home of the Boston Tea Party, like finally, it’s a crime to picket in this state, which was news to me.”

“I mean, I’ve seen all, you know, Black Lives Matter and stuff on TV, blocking highways, and I must have missed the picketing charges that they all got, but I guess it’s a little bit selective anyway. So I was, you know, arraigned, I was charged. I got indicted for it two months later, which basically means they just bring it to a bigger court,” he began.

“I ended up getting arrested again on the day after Christmas. The warrant was out for my arrest on December 24 and that’s a whole other story,” he said, noting he was dating a woman who turned on him after he ended things with her after she lied about being pregnant.

“She immediately got in contact with people who don’t like me, connected with the state police and the special prosecutor in my case, and they plotted with her. And we learned this through her cell phone extraction, which was given to us in discovery that they sent her a fake grand jury summons to be a witness against me —a completely fake grand jury summons for a grand jury that did not exist,” he said. “And she — they had her send it to me, and told me that, you know, she wanted to talk about it.”

“And so I reluctantly went over to her apartment, I agreed to meet with her in like a common area, and we talked. She confessed everything to me that she had been talking to the state police and she was so sorry, and blah, blah, blah,” he said, explaining that police were eavesdropping on their conversation.

“And they were urging her to get me in her apartment, because once I, you know, there’s too many cameras around in the common area. And she got me back to her apartment at 11:00. I stayed there for a couple more hours. She showed me, you know, all of this evidence that the state police were, you know, collaborating with her, and she said she was so sorry and asked for forgiveness and blah, blah, blah,” he said.

When he wanted to leave, she took an abortion pill in front of him even though she was not pregnant and caused a scene with her children, waking them up and telling them that she would have an abortion in his driveway. He said he felt sorry for the traumatized children and waited until she fell asleep and left.

“I left at 5:00 a.m. and I actually fell asleep on the way home on the highway. I crashed my car, and luckily, I made it home in one piece, and then a few hours later, I was contacted by the police, and there was a warrant out for my address for an assault and battery,” he said, noting that he realized then that the entire thing was a setup and he was sentenced to jail for 60 days.

“On the day that I got out, they actually dropped the charges against me. So they had no intention of, you know, they knew it was not true. They had no intention of prosecuting me. They just wanted to put me in jail for 60 days. And it worked. So that’s why I went to jail,” he said. Host Matthew Boyle noted, “They did this whole thing to layer the two cases.”

“It’s evil, and that’s how it shows how diabolical these people are, and it’s just par for the course,” Kearney said.

“I knew that they were setting this woman up, and it was undeniable that they planted [a broken] taillight, that they were fully aware that she didn’t do it, that there are other suspects out there they were choosing not to investigate, and you know, those are the same cops who showed up in my house and put me in handcuffs. The same exact cops,” he said.

“So you criticize the government, and then the government comes and arrests you and puts you in jail for doing journalism and doing activism and speaking out about corruption,” he added.“That’s how it works in Massachusetts.”

Human rights activist Craig Murray has claimed a US hedge fund is the real owner of the aircraft and that they are routinely leased out to Israel

The Royal Air Force warplanes defaced by pro-Palestinian activists last monthare owned not by the British government but a US hedge fund, prominent human-rights activist Craig Murray has alleged. He added that at least some of the planes appear to be routinely leased out to the Israeli military.

In June, several activists from the group Palestine Action broke into Brize Norton, the UK’s largest airbase, and sprayed red paint into the turbines of two Voyager aircraft before fleeing the scene undetected.

The group said the stunt was a protest against the supposed involvement of the Royal Air Force in Israel’s military operation in Gaza.The British authorities vowed to prosecute those responsible.

Speaking to RT on Sunday, Murray, who served as British ambassador to Uzbekistan from 2002 till 2004 and is an associate of WikiLeaks’ co-founder Julian Assange, said that he had discovered that the planes in questionwere owned by Airtanker Ltd, which, in turn, is supposedly “owned by a string of seven fake companies.”

According to Murray, behind the cutout entities stands a US hedge fundnamed Polygon Global Partners LLP, which is the real owner of the planes.

He claimed that the entity “has joint interests with the Trump organization and BlackRock,”which has stakes in several military industrial giants.

The former British diplomat told RT that of the 14 planes in question “nine are permanently with the RAF, and five of them are sometimes with the RAF, andsometimes can be leased out to other foreign militaries, including the Israeli military.”

“It seems to be fairly definite that the Israelis are using these planes. These planes have been frequently flying to [the RAF Akrotiri airbase in Cyprus] which has been the main military support base for Israeli activities into Gaza,”Murray claimed.

He added that officials in London refuse to either confirm or deny that such military missions are carried out in support of Israel.

On top of that, according to Murray,the British “taxpayer is being ripped off” as under the contract with Polygon Global, the UK governmentis “paying five times the value of these planes.” He said the agreement expires in 2049.

In the wake of the vandalism, UK Home Secretary Yvette Cooper announced plans to designate the activist group as a terrorist organization and ban it.
