Could be unrelated, but the SEC just denied a Bitcoin ETF because of unassurance of manipulation in the underlying asset rather than just their mandate as regulators of the ETF product.

Not a lawfag, but I wonder if this could translate into a precedent to break up the SEC if by correlation, they're now essentially saying they are responsible for manipulation in underlying assets rather than just the traded products.

It depends how it works. Resolving rights and responsibility over commons is important, but I am much more for putting something more closely tied to energy rather than necessary for life as a monetary basis…
