Dutchsense has a theory about 'drill points' and that the 'waves' of techtonic activity follow along fault lines and that the drill points thus get the activity that old volcanoes used to get. It would be interesting to see if there is a coorelation between where these sudden cloud forming events are somehow related to the earthquake activity and the drill points.
