Mexico City: Rioters Opposing Americans in Mexico Become Violent and Chant “Gringo Go Home”
Demonstrators marched in Mexico City on the Fourth of July to protest against the city’s high influx of American ex-pats and remote workers that are causing inflation and a housing shortage. A man commented that rents have increased by 47%. Many demonstrators turned violent, with some of them accosting Americans and smashing the restaurants, banks and other businesses that cater to them. Video captured protesters screaming at American-looking tourists and a man spray-painting KILL A GRINGO on a the wall of a building. The anarchists in the streets look similar to American Antifa leftists as many wore masks, black clothing, umbrellas to block cameras, and carried anti-Trump signs. A source told Cash Jordan that the rioters are in the minority.
There were no police.
The Americans in Mexico City entered the country legally, unlike many Mexican migrants in the US.
The Mexican government won’t crack down on immigration because the country depends on remittances that Mexican migrants send to their families across the border that totaled $65 billion last year. In addition, impoverished and elderly Mexicans are encouraged to cross the border for Americans to support, especially in Sanctuary Cities.
