I bypass any school that has teachers above undergraduate degrees through 5tth grade. 6th-8th, maybe, but only when it comes to STEM. I'm more flexible for high school.

We were onboarded at a presbyterian preschool when they changed their vax policy. not accepting religious exemptions at a religious school. fucking kek. they were the P branch that's woke AF. options are limited in my area. last acceptable option was an episcopal school…with 2 women with master's degrees. one might have had a phd. anyway, i already knew what they were going to say, but asked anyway.

bottom line: that was another year at home for my kid to be a kid. nothing wrong with that. got her on the list for the conservative school the next year. fuck, who knew you had to apply a year in advance for a preschool??? there would be more preschools if women were more feminine and werent drowning in school debt, amiright?

I think it's an option when there are none, but there are theoretical benefits to people who are specialized in an economy. Not even mother can or should be a teacher. We don't need to be icarus, but if everyone was homeschooled, our society would never get off the ground. I certainly think a classical curriculum, university model (2-3 days/week), and with supplemental online delivery, etc. can mitigate a metric F-ton of the problems, and for a lot less money. The big missing pieces of homeschooling are socialization, and extracurriculars. Kids don't always have the interests or talents their parents have. Schools have offered an avenue for those, to a degree.
