There are a number of possibilities.

[They] planted 'evidence' of Trump involved with Epstein and they want to use it to attack him.

[They] know that the Epstein evidence was mostly destroyed and they are not afraid of talking about it.
But they know that Trump's refusal to release it can be used to slander him and Bondi.
Remember it is against the law to release evidence collected. So it's not going to be released unless at a trial.

[They] are jerking MAGAs chain to try to turn Trump's base against him.

[They] are trying to goad Trump/Bondi into jumping the gun so the DS can see into the investigation.
They don't know just how much evidence is there and they are desperate for a peek.

Trump's people leaked something (fake) which is making [them] panic and this is their knee jerk reaction.
Truth is we really don't know.
So hold the line and try to enjoy the show.
