I figured out the pray for your enemy thing. We're in a modern day situation where you can't just massacre your enemies easily like in the olden days. So lets say you have a guy at work that keeps bothering you and trying to out perform you. Aside from being aggressively competitive, he's a cool guy, married, loves his wife and kids.

So how am I gunna deal with this guy? You love your job, but just irritated by this guy. So you can pray to God for this guy to get a better job somewhere else closer to his family, or something better for him in general.

You keep your job and it's more enjoyable without a stone in your shoe, and the other guy is happy too.

There's nothing else you can do tho, he is your superior, and good at his job. You can either let the anger consume you and hope he dies, or pray something better happens to him where he goes somewhere else.

You never had a job where you're in this situation?

I had this one job I really liked. Gained a lot of favor in my boss's eyes because I worked crazy hours and could handle multiple roles. Was basically a swiss army knife. Worked for the guy through college and was hoping to venture into my own franchise of his IP, or get priority for contract work with his other businesses.

After all this time, being the cherry on top of his business, this one guy shows up who is his friend, has way more experience and credentials than me, and was 10 years older and wiser.

After working with this new guy for a while, we got along really well, was a really good guy and knew his stuff, could tell over time he gained my boss's favor over mine, and my boss would brush off any future prospect with me because Superman just showed up and he'd rather take the risk with him.

Anyways I ended up leaving that job for other reasons but I was still stuck with Superman for a few months before I did.

I guess I was on the reverse end of the prayer because if I ended up there I wouldn't be here.
