A rumor that circulated online in July 2025 claimed Donald Trump Jr., the U.S. president's eldest son, once tweeted a message supporting the release of a "client list" associated with the illicit activities of deceased convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The tweet, dated in an alleged image screenshot as July 8, 2023, read, "Show us all the Epstein client list now!!! Why would anyone protect those scum bags? Ask yourselves this question daily and the answer becomes very apparent!!" (At the time, U.S. President Joe Biden was in the White House.)

On social media, a Reddit user sharing (archived) the purportedly genuine screenshot on r/agedlikemilk — a subreddit for content that aged poorly — captioned the tweet as, "Don Jr. with one for the history books from July '23." Usersalso shared the alleged tweet image on 9GAG(archived), Bluesky (archived), Facebook(archived), Instagram (archived), Reddit(archived), Threads (archived), X (archived) and YouTube (archived). Snopes received searches and reader email asking about this matter, as well.

Trump truly did post this tweet on Twitter, shortly before the platform's name changed to X, in July 2023, including demanding the U.S. government reveal an undisclosed "Epstein client list," and requesting users ask daily why someone would protect those associated with Epstein's alleged crimes. The post (archived), remarking about a video mentioning the sentencing of Epstein associate and convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell, still appeared on his X account in July 2025.

Snopes contacted Trump by email via the Trump Organization to ask if he wished to comment about the resurfacing of his post, and whether he still shares the same views now that he held in 2023 about demanding the release of undisclosed Epstein-related files. We will update this story if we receive more information.

Past remarks about Epstein from Trump

Trump previously posted numerous times about Epstein on his X account. For example, on June 15, 2024, he shared (archived), "You know who's not on the Epstein list? My father… because if he was, it would have leaked in about half a second!!!! That's a fact!"

Also in 2024, during a speaking engagement for the conservative Turning Point Action organization, Trump claimed (archived) to the gathered crowd of the federal government not releasing the "Epstein list" that, "It's almost like they're trying to protect those pedphles for some reason. I can't imagine why."

Epstein in the news

The July 2023 post from Trump demanding the release of the "Epstein client list" circulated at a time of high tensions in summer 2025 involving Epstein's past, in the weeks after tech billionaire Elon Musk, former adviser to President Donald Trump, alleged, without providing evidence, that the president appears in damning, undisclosed files associated with Epstein's acts. "That is the real reason why they have not been made public," he added, before deleting the post.

Then, in early July 2025, the U.S. Department of Justice and FBI announced in a memorandumthat no Epstein "client list" existed, despite Attorney General Pam Bondi answering a question about the supposed list on Fox News in February 2025, saying it was on her desk for review. After the memo's release, Bondi sought to clarify her remarks from months earlier, claiming her "on my desk" comment simply referenced a general file related to Epstein, and not a "client list."

For further reading, a previous fact check examined whether a video showed Donald Trump Jr. using cocaine at his father's second inauguration.

==Jordan talking to White House on reviving partisan immigration bill=

The Ohio Republican was at one point sayinghe was open to including changes to high-skilled visa rules favored by Elon Musk.

House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan is in touch with the White House about bringing his sweeping immigration overhaul bill up for a vote — in exactly the same form as in the previous Congress.

In an interview this week, the Ohio Republican said he wants to revive consideration of legislation that passed the House in May 2023 without any Democratic votes.

“What I’d like to do in our committee, and we’re talking to the White House about when it makes sense to do this, is look at … the language that we had last Congress,” said Jordan.

Jordan had previously signaled an openness to tweaking the bill text to include some changes to high-skilled visa rules — a policy change championed by Elon Musk, tech mogul and former head of the Department of Department Efficiency initiative.

Since that time, however, Musk left his administration posting on bad terms with Donald Trump over for the GOP’s sweeping domestic policy package, railing against the megabill and burning bridges with the president along the way.

And while Musk and Jordan had at one point been close allies, Jordan was recently one of the several high-profile Republicans who Musk unfollowed on his social media platform, X, following passage of Trump’s “big, beautiful bill.”

Jordan’s immigration overhaul bill would significantly crack down on legal immigration in the United States through limits on asylum and parole eligibility. It also would require employers to use E-Verify, an online system where they can ascertain an individual’s eligibility to work in the U.S., while setting a new minimum of 22,000 active-duty agents for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency.

A 2023 report from the Congressional Budget Office found that the bill would lower population estimates by 2033 by 600,000 “mostly by reducing the number of unaccompanied alien children present in the country.” The nonpartisan scorekeeper also estimated that 4.4 million people would also no longer be eligible for parole or asylum.

It would come on the heels of the megabill’s allocations of tens of billions of dollars for completing the border wall and implementing new fees for applicants seeking entry into the country. (These people will further harm Trump after the Epstein BS)

>>23335001 James Watkins reposted: I've been a loyal Trump supporter since 2016…PN

Jim, Trump didn’t do this it’s Bondi. Trump told her to release what is acceptable. She created this chaos and everyone knows it. Very few patriots respect her. She should have kept her fucking mouth shut.

He’s between a rock and a hard place. Congress is passing a law to release the documents. So I can’t and won’t not supporting him, he’s gone through living hell, and he of all Presidents deserve the support even with this fuck up.

We all know how you feel for your and our sacrifices. But if he’s not supported they will go full blown crazy to destroy him and use Patriots as their excuse.

Please don’t dump him in his last four years.

You might want to listen to Megan Kelly’s interview with an influencer and what she says how dishonest Bondi, it gave me a better perspective on her.
