In reality 90% of Americans are the 1% worldwide. We've created the wealthiest society in the known history of the world thanks to freedom. There'll always be a portion of any population that just can't succeed regardless of the economic system. There'll be Low IQ, or disabled people etc. That can't make it on their own, which is why government assistance was originally implemented, it's been abused to death at this point though and desperately needs reform.
