FDA slammed for letting Big Pharma rubber-stamp their own drugs with $10M pay-to-play loophole

The FDA’s drug approval pipeline is no longer a regulatory gauntlet. It’s a toll booth. In 2025, pharmaceutical giants can pay a $10 million fee to fast-track their own drugs through the approval process. That’s not speculation. It’s baked into the Prescription Drug User Fee Act system. The FDA collects billions annually from industry “user fees” that now fund nearly half of its operating budget. The Center for Drug Evaluation and Research is 83% funded by these payments. That’s not oversight. That’s dependency.

Dr. Bryan Ardis laid it out in plain terms. Drug makers submit their own clinical trial data. They pay the FDA a lump sum. And they get the green light to sell. The agency no longer conducts full independent reviews for every drug. If the company’s internal research looks clean and the check clears, the product hits shelves. That’s the process. That’s the system.

The $10 million figure is the standard fee for a New Drug Application with clinical data under PDUFA VII. The FDA’s own financial report confirms it. These fees are pooled and used to fund staff, rent, and overhead. The agency’s review timelines are now dictated by the volume of fees collected. The more money flows in, the faster the approvals move. That’s not science. That’s throughput.

Meat industry caught juicing products with water for higher margins

This company sells devices to meat manufacturers so they can add water weight to meats so “profitability guaranteed”

They're injected with a plumping solution made of water, salts, phosphates and preservatives. It increases the weight, increase shelf life and increases profits

https://twitter.com/i/status/1945869331528560725

Meat processors are buying machines that inject water into your dinner. It’s not a conspiracy theory. It’s a business model. Industrial emulsifiers and injectors are being sold to manufacturers across the U.S., Europe, and Asia to pump meat with plumping solutions: water, salts, phosphates, and preservatives. The goal is not nutrition. It’s weight. More weight means more profit. That’s the pitch. “Profitability guaranteed,” says one supplier. The practice is legal. The labeling is vague. The consumer pays for water at meat prices.

The process is mechanical. High-pressure needles or rotating blades push the solution deep into muscle tissue. The injected fluid can make up 15% to 30% of the final product weight. That’s not seasoning. That’s inflation. GEA Group, Karl Schnell GmbH, and Pacific Food Machinery are among the top manufacturers of these systems. Their machines are used by processors in over 60 countries. The emulsifiers homogenize the solution. The injectors distribute it. The result is heavier meat, longer shelf life, and higher margins.

Labeling laws require disclosure, but only in fine print. “Enhanced with up to X% solution” is the standard phrasing. Most consumers miss it. The USDA allows it. The FDA doesn’t regulate it. The meat looks fresh. It feels tender. It weighs more. That’s the business. Tyson, Smithfield, Hormel, and JBS all use enhancement systems in select product lines. The American Association of Meat Processors will showcase new injection tech at its July 24 convention in Kansas City. The machines are getting faster. The needles are getting finer. The margins are getting wider.

Phosphates help retain moisture. Salt boosts flavor and shelf stability. Preservatives slow spoilage. The solution is engineered. It’s not random. It’s optimized for yield. The emulsifiers cost between $40,000 and $250,000 depending on capacity. ROI is measured in months. One machine can process 2,000 pounds per hour. That’s throughput. That’s scale.

Consumers are buying water at $5.99 per pound. The industry calls it value-added. The label calls it enhanced. The machine calls it profitable.

Huckabee in letter to interior minister claims Israel is making it difficult for Christian organizations to obtain visas for their employees in Israel

'It would be unfortunate if we were forced to announce that you have a negative attitude toward organizations, that Christian donations are met with hostility - or to issue notices to tourists to reconsider travel'

"This is not the relationship Israel wants to have with its best partner and friend," Huckabee wrote in the letter, which came against the backdrop of what he described as difficulties the Interior Ministry is facing in granting visas to Christian organizations and workers operating in Israel.

"As of the beginning of 2025, the Visa Department has stopped honoring the recommendations and has launched an independent investigation of each of the evangelical organizations to determine whether they should be recognized as religious institutions and whether they should continue to receive visas. This includes organizations such as the Baptist Conference in Israel, the Christian Missionary Alliance and others, some of which have been active here since before 1948. The vast majority of them are located in the United States. All of them were required to fill out huge questionnaires. To my knowledge, none of them have received new A3 visas for religious leaders since the beginning of the year. We simply requested that the visa department return to status quo," Huckabee wrote.

“As the U.S. Ambassador representing President Donald Trump, I am formally demanding that this deteriorating relationship with the Department of State be resolved so that this matter does not escalate further,” Huckabee added. “It would be deeply regrettable if our embassy were to be forced to publicly announce throughout the United States that the State of Israel no longer welcomes Christian organizations and their representatives and that ,instead, it is engaging in harassment and negative treatment of organizations with longstanding ties and positive engagement with Zionism. We will be further obligated to warn Christians in America that their generous donations to organizations in Israel are being met with hostility, and that tourists should reconsider travel until the situation is clearly resolved.”

Gas Empire: how Australians are paying for foreign profiteers

Japan and South Korea have poured tens of billions into the Australian gas industry, keeping domestic supply low and prices high, while greenwashing Australia’s emissions.

A new report by the Jubilee Australia Research Centre has been released at the right time to inform the public and the Government on just how our domestic gas industry is serving other countries more than Australia.

On July 1, Energy Minister Chris Bowen announced a “sweeping review” of gas market regulations to be conducted over the next six months.

A gas reservation policy is paramount to wresting national control of our gas resources away from multinationals and foreign governments. The consumer watchdog (ACCC) has warned of a “deteriorating outlook” for gas supplies for the east coast of Australia this year and next.

The Jubilee report highlights just how previous governments have enabled foreign countries to effectively control gas output, keeping domestic prices high. Labor now has a chance to change it.

Who controls our gas?

Australia is ‘only’ the seventh largest producer of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the world, but the second biggest exporter. In 2023, we produced 142,000 million cubic metres of the stuff, exporting 73% of it; Japan, China, and South Korea imported the majority (78%).

According to the report, Japan and South Korea have also invested more than $ US$20B ($31B) into the Australian gas industry between 2008 and 2024. Japan’s export credit agency (JBIC) is responsible for 64% of this and is “involved in the majority of current LNG projects in Australia.”

Australia not only exports enormous (largely untaxed) quantities of gas – 81 million tonnes, or $91B worth (2023) – but much of the gas is burned elsewhere, thus not counting negatively towards Australia’s emission targets.

Adding insult to injury, according to the reports’ principal author, Suhailah Ali, “The majority of Australian LNG facilities are not paying Royalties, none are paying Petroleum Resource Rent Tax, and pay very minimal company tax.”

Gas empire

The Japanese Government hides behind a narrative that the gas is needed to “keep the lights on in Tokyo.” A bit of a furphy, given that one-third of the gas Japan imports from Australia is re-exported.

For Japan, natural gas is a big, profitable business.

Both Japan and Korea continue to invest heavily in the extraction, processing, transport and deployment of gas, despite making public commitments to transition away from fossil fuels. According to the Jubilee report, these countries are “building out an Asia-wide Gas Empire intended to keep the gas industry operating and profiting for as long as possible.

Is Prime Minister Anthony Albanese putting Australian Jews above all other Australians?

Australia could end up with more victims of the legal warfare being conducted by supporters of Israel then there are victims of antisemitism, and that needs to be looked at and addressed by the federal and state governments.

For example, Justice Darryl Rangiah will hand down his judgment on Friday (18/7/25) for the 9 female lawyers from the “Lawyers for Israel” WhatsApp group and their frivolous and vexatious application for 8 respondents, Larina Alick, Sam White, Calum Jaspan, Michael Bachelard, Bevan Shields, Patrick Elligett, The Age and Fairfax Media Publications, from Nine Entertainment to be charged with contempt of court.

Add the 8 respondents from Nine to journalist Antoinette Lattouf, who was sacked by the ABC because of attacks and lies by the “Lawyers for Israel” WhatsApp group, and journalist Mary Kostakidis, who is being sued by the Zionist Federation of Australia for shining a light on Israel’s genocide and war crimes in Gaza, and that totals 10 media respondents in frivolous lawsuits by supporters of Israel.

And there are other Australians who have felt the rath from supporters of Israel, such as artist Khaled Sabsabi and pianist Jayson Gillham, but is goes unchecked by politicians.

Israel, via their puppets in Australia, is trying to pressure the Australian government to give preferential treatment to Australian Jews and that was made clear when “Antisemitism envoy Jillian Segal released a plan last week with 49 steps to tackle rising discrimination against Jewish Australians.”

“Segal’s report claimed antisemitism is “ingrained and normalised” in academia and cultural spaces, and said young Australians were being “raised on a diet of disinformation and misinformation about Jews”.” (Click here to read more)

To say antisemitism is “ingrained and normalised” in Australia is a lie and it’s a lie to try and justify Jillian Segal’s position as Antisemitism envoy and the propaganda and lies she is pushing on behalf of Israel.

Jillian Segal’s husband John Roth was exposed supporting anti-Palestine group Advance in February 2025 by The Guardian in an article titled “Liberal party investment vehicle donated $500,000 to rightwing group Advance” which starts off:

A Liberal party investment group donated $500,000 to the rightwing advocacy group Advance last financial year, fuelling speculation from the Greens the two are teaming up to take out the minor party’s influence in the upcoming federal election.

Advance, which has pledged to “expose” the Greens as Australia’s “biggest threat to freedom, security and prosperity”, received more than $15.6m in the 2023-24 financial year, up from $5.2m the year before, according to the latest Australian Electoral Commission annual donation disclosure figures.

Just $914,000, or 5.8%, of the donations’ sources are known with the remaining $14.8m not publicly declared, sometimes referred to as “dark money”.

New COVID-19 vaccine protects against several variants, researchers say

Australian scientists say they have created a COVID-19 vaccine that can protect against several variants of the virus.

Researchers from the Centenary Institute and the University of Sydney created the CoVEXS5 vaccine, which protects against five variants of the virus, including the "highly immune-evasive" Omicron XBB.1.5 variant and SARS-CoV-1, a relative of SARS-CoV-2.

Studies showed reduced virus levels in the lungs of vaccinated mice by 99.9 per cent, compared to unvaccinated controls.

It also triggered high levels of virus-blocking antibodies and activated special immune T-cells in the lungs, which are critical for the body to fight the virus.

"By combining parts of multiple coronaviruses, we've created a vaccine that can better prepare the body to fight off both current and future threats," Dr Claudio Counoupas, a researcher at the Centenary Institute's Centre for Infection and Immunity, said.

The CoVEXS5 vaccine features a unique version of the spike protein, fusing protein elements from several different COVID-19 variants into one single structure.

Researchers say this fusion helps the immune system recognise and respond to a broader range of virus types.
