Bihar Paras Hospital Shootout Caught on CCTV

Yesterday, patna witnessed one of the shocking shootouts right inside Paras Hospital. As seen in the viral CCTV footage, a group of armed men walked into the ICU and gunned down Chandan Mishra in cold blood.

Who Was Chandan Mishra?

Chandan Mishra was a notorious gangster from Buxar district. He was serving a life sentence in connection with the murder of businessman Rajendra Keshri. Due to medical reasons, he had been granted temporary parole and was undergoing treatment at Paras Hospital.

Who Was Rajendra Keshri?

Rajendra Keshri was a prominent cloth merchant from Buxar. In 2014, he was brutally shot dead in broad daylight, sparking outrage across the region. His murder was believed to be linked to extortion threats he had received. Chandan Mishra was later convicted as one of the key conspirators in that case.

This hospital shootout has once again raised serious questions about law and order in Bihar.

If such a murder can happen inside a top hospital’s ICU, what does it say about public safety?

In the last 15-20 days this is the 3rd shoot out, as we are nearing the election, murders are happening like daily chores

What happened to Heather Turner? Paulding County officials promise future updates 1/2

Written by: A. Smith

(Timeliness is not a priority in GA)

PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. – Eight years after 35-year-old Heather Nicole Turner was found dead in her home, the Paulding County District Attorney’s Office says the case remains open as investigators await critical forensic results.

Heather Nicole Turner was found dead from a gunshot wound in the bathroom of her home on Buck Trail in Dallas, Georgia, in the early morning hours of May 4, 2017. Her husband, Andy Turner, told authorities she had taken her own life shortly after stepping out of the shower around 5:30 a.m.He claimed he performed CPR, then called his parents before contacting 911 just before 6 a.m. According to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office incident report, deputies responded to the scene for a reported suicide. Upon arrival, they found Heather’s in-laws inside the home, followed by Andy Turner, who was holding Heather’s body in his arms.

“It’s still undetermined as to whether this is a homicide or a suicide,”Paulding County Sheriff Ashley Henson said.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation labeled the circumstances surrounding her death as “questionable,” and the manner of death has never been officially determined. According to the coroner’s report, Heather was found nude with a gunshot wound to the right side of her head.

Family members and friends have long disputed the suicide narrative. They describe Heather as a dedicated mother who would not have taken her own life.Rumors of missing evidence, reporting inconsistencies, allegations of domestic abuse, and claims that Andy Turner received preferential treatment from the former sheriffdue to local connections have fueled widespread skepticism both in the community and online.

The case has gained national attention in recent years, including a 2022 episode of It Couldn’t Happen Here hosted by actress Hilarie Burton and coverage in a podcast produced by the Agatha Mae Detective Agency.

In a Facebook statement issued June 24, Paulding County District Attorney Robert Lane reaffirmed that the case remains active. He said the investigation is being conducted in partnership with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, the GBI, and South Carolina’s State Law Enforcement Division. According to Lane, several forensic tests are still pending, and no further public updates will be issued until those results are in.

Lane emphasized that all investigative efforts are based strictly on facts and evidence, not rumors. He cited professional guidelines that restrict public commentary on ongoing cases that could influence future legal proceedings.

Sheriff Ashley Henson also addressed the case in a separate Facebook post, stating that investigating Heather Turner’s death has been a top priority since he assumed office at the start of the year. “Since taking office less than six months ago, we have accomplished a lot,” Henson said. “Our team is working diligently to give this family a resolution in this case sooner rather than later.”

• On June 17, 2025, a representative of Ms. Turner’s family responded to the email from DA Lane.

• Despite the attention, many supporters have voiced frustration over what they view as the slow progress and lack of transparency. Some have inquired about filing formal complaints regarding the DA’s and sheriff’s offices. Others claim the family was warned not to speak publicly about meetings with officials under threat of losing future access.

• One post on the Facebook page alleged that the family was silenced by the DA’s office in February and that officials discouraged public discussion. The same post claimed Gov. Brian Kemp and Attorney General Chris Carr blocked her from accessing an email she sent about the case. However, the poster also acknowledged that Sheriff Henson has remained active in the investigation, which may have prompted the DA’s latest public statement.

While Andy Turner has not been charged and continues to assert his innocence, the investigation is far from over. Officials say the results of remaining forensic tests will help clarify what happened in the early morning hours of Heather Turner’s death. The DA’s office has pledged to share new information with the public and Heather’s family as soon as it becomes available.

Nonprofit finalizes purchase to add 21.46 acres to Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park

Written by: E. George

Published June 26, 2025 @ 3:50 PM ET

COBB COUNTY, Ga. – A recent land acquisition at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park is set to enhance preservation efforts and safeguard historically significant landscapes from future development.

The Trust for Public Land finalized the purchase of a 21.46-acre property north of Burnt Hickory Road, adding to the protected expanse of the Civil War-era battlefield in Cobb County. The newly acquired site, now under the management of the National Park Service, brings additional natural and historical value to the more than 2,900-acre national park.

Once at risk of being converted into residential housing, the property will instead be integrated into the park’s broader goals of conservation, education, and public recreation. The parcel includes forested land and a small pond, which can serve as an essential water source in regional wildfire response efforts. In past incidents, helicopters have utilized the pond and ones similar for firefighting operations, underscoring the site’s strategic importance.

The land is also believed to contain undiscovered Civil War-era archaeological features, making its protection vital to preserving potential historical artifacts beneath the surface. By connecting previously fragmented portions of the park, the acquisition helps maintain the integrity of the landscape and improves accessibility for visitors.

The purchase was supported by the Land and Water Conservation Fund and the National Park Foundation, continuing a multi-decade collaboration to expand and protect the park’s footprint. This transaction marks the fourth time The Trust for Public Land has contributed to the park’s growth, with earlier acquisitions having occurred in the early 2000s, 2008, and 2013. Past additions have included forests, open fields, lakes, and documented military fortifications such as rifle pits and cannon placements.

The expanded boundaries represent ongoing efforts to preserve both the ecological richness and historical relevance of the region, which played a pivotal role in the Atlanta Campaign during the Civil War.

Big money floods Georgia campaigns ahead of 2026 midterm battle

An AJC review shows tens of millions flowing into Georgia campaigns from Senate to governor.1/2

Greg Bluestein July 18, 2025

A tidal wave of campaign cash is already inundating Georgia politics — long before most voters are paying attention to next year’s high-stakes midterm elections.

An Atlanta Journal-Constitution analysis of newly filed state and federal disclosures shows tens of millions of dollars in contributions and loans are rapidly restocking campaign accounts — the grist for the waves of TV ads, digital messaging and staffers that will soon blanket Georgia.

The early surge is only a taste of the massive spending expected to define Georgia’s 2026 election cycle, when Democrats aim to retake the Governor’s Mansion for the first time in nearly three decades and defend U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff’s seat.

But the cash infusion is already reshaping the playing field. With millions pouring in, candidates are building out their infrastructure months ahead of the traditional campaign season.

The race for campaign cash is also supercharged by a 2021 state law that allows nominees for governor, lieutenant governor and other legislative leaders raise unlimited funds through leadership committees — a tool that helped Gov. Brian Kemp and Democrat Stacey Abrams shatter fundraising records in their 2022 rematch.

The law is under fire by a top candidate for governor. Attorney General Chris Carr filed an ethics complaint on Thursday arguing it gives his GOP rival, Lt. Gov. Burt Jones, an unfair advantage by allowing Jones to stockpile millions while Carr and others can only raise a maximum of $26,400 from each donor.

Senate

Ossoff is a fundraising juggernaut. And so far, there’s no runaway Republican favorite to challenge him.

A review of second-quarter disclosures covering April to June shows he didn’t just close the quarter with more than $15 million in his campaign account. Federal records show the Democratic incumbent has raised more money since 2021 than any other member of Congress facing voters in 2026.

His total haul: nearly $42 million since his 2021 runoff victory — about $15 million more than the next closest U.S. senator on the list, Democrat Cory Booker of New Jersey, who built a national fundraising base during his 2020 presidential campaign.

The two most prominent Republicans in the race, by contrast, raised a fraction of Ossoff’s haul. U.S. Rep. Buddy Carter reported $4 million on hand, aided by a $2 million personal loan. Insurance Commissioner John King disclosed about $450,000 in the bank.

That financial gap could encourage other Republicans to jump in. Former football coach Derek Dooley has met with key donors in Atlanta and Washington as he readies a potential bid. And U.S. Rep. Mike Collins of Jackson has repeatedly teased a run..

Governor

Jones is one of the wealthiest politicians in Georgia — and he’s willing to put his money where his mouth is.

Jones, who confirmed the worst kept secret in state politics by officially entering the race for governor this month, reported roughly $14.3 million cash on hand — including a $10 million personal loan.

That ratchets up the pressure on Carr, who jumped into the race in November to get a fundraising head start. He has stockpiledabout $2.7 million in the bank, with former U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss and ex-U. S. Rep. Tom Graves among his donors.

Also looming are two other Republicans who could marshal giant donor networks: Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Rome.

The two most prominent Democratic contenders were on roughly equal financial footing, with both reporting about $1 million in the bank.

Democratic state Sen. Jason Esteves is drawing a chunk of his seven-figure haul from state party heavyweights, including former Gov. Roy Barnes, former Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin and Jason Carter, the party’s 2014 nominee for governor.

Former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms’ donor list underscores her reach into national political and entertainment circles. The former Biden administration official reported contributions from Delaware Gov. Matt Meyer, U.S. Sen. Lisa Blunt Rochester, rapper Clifford “T.I.” Harris and media mogul Tyler Perry. Bottoms raised $900,000 and lent herself an additional $200,000.

Congress

In races for Congress, some embattled incumbents are already facing financial pressure from would-be opponents.

Gainesville Mayor Sam Couvillon ended the quarter with nearly $300,000 in his campaign account — almost double the $170,000 raised by U.S. Rep. Andrew Clyde, the Republican incumbent he’s challenging in next year’s GOP primary.

And Democratic U.S. Rep. David Scott, who is facing several prominent primary challengers, ended the quarter with roughly $212,000 on hand, including a $45,000 loan to his own campaign. Much of his haul came from PACs; he raised just $141 from individual donors.

As for Carter’s open Savannah-area seat, Republican Jim Kingston emerged as the early fundraising leader with more than $850,000 in the bank. Activist Kandiss Taylor, who ran for governor in 2022 on a far-right “Jesus, Guns and Babies” platform, reported only $3,000 on hand.

Alabama State Auditor duped by Georgia Republican’s Ponzi scheme 1/2

By Kyle Whitmire | kwhitmire@al.com

Updated: Jul. 18, 2025, 7:35 a.m.

Shakespeare warned us, neither a borrower nor a lender be, but in a Georgia Ponzi scheme, Alabama State Auditor Andrew Sorrell is somehow … both?

And also, a victim?

Sorrell says he was duped by a pyramid scam that has triggered headlines throughout the South and sent tremors through Republican circles. And, while he raked in campaign donations from the folks running that con game, he says he’s giving that money back so victims — like him? — might recoup their losses.

Also, he doesn’t want his opponents in next year’s race for Alabama Secretary of State giving him guff about it.

It’s a lot. And it’s messy. But let’s unpack it.

Last week, the Securities and Exchange Commission accused Edwin Brandt Frost IV and one of his companies,First Liberty Building and Loan, of running a scam on hundreds of investors. This week, Frost said in a public statement that he took full responsibility and would work to repay those who trusted him with their money.

The pretense of the scheme was to give short-term bridge loans to small businesses until they could secure longer-term credit through the Small Business Administration or other commercial lenders. Frost and his company would connect borrowers with investors, who could get up to 18 percent interest on their investments.

According to the SEC, only a few businesses took part in the program and most of those loans soured quickly. When that happened, Frost and his company began using money from new investors to pay off old ones.

A classic pyramid scheme, a la Bernie Madoff, to the tune of at least $140 million.

After Frost exhausted his social network of “friends and family,” hebegan soliciting investments through advertisements on talk radio programs such as the Erick Erickson Show and Hugh Hewitt, according to the SEC. Through these programs, the scheme targeted listeners and pitched the offer as a Christian investment opportunity.

Meanwhile, according to the SEC, Frost spent investor money on personal expenses, including $335,000 for rare coins, $20,800 for a watch, $140,000 for jewelry, $2.4 million for credit card payments — and $570,000 on campaign donations.

Most of those were in Georgia, where Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has called on politicians to give the money back to a federal receiver.

But state and federal records show Frost, his family and businesses made donations in Alabama, too.

Alabama state Rep. Benjamin Harrison, R-Elkmont, received $22,500. Alabama State School Board member Allen Long, R-Florence, took in $40,000. Federal campaign records show Mo Brooks received $4,575 for his failed U.S. Senate campaign and Rep. Barry Moore received $3,300.

But none in Alabama appear to have received as much as Sorrell.

Together, Sorrell and a political action committee he runs called Alabama Christian Citizens accepted $71,000 from the Frost family and their companies.

Sorrell is running for Alabama Secretary of State. In that campaign, Frost has been his largest campaign contributor.

Sorrell says he plans to return the donations so Frost’s investors can recoup some of what they lost.

“One of the individuals responsible for the scheme donated personally andthrough his company to dozens of conservative Republican campaigns and political action committees across the southeast, including mine, and I will return the contributions to a court-appointed receiver as soon as the process is available,” Sorrell said in a prepared statement first reported by Alabama Reflector.

But here’s where Sorrell’s part in this story gets interesting — and how he now also says he’s a victim. He didn’t only accept campaign contributions from Frost and his companies, as the others did.Sorrell also invested money from his political action committee with Frost.

According to Alabama campaign finance records, Alabama Christian Citizens loaned First Liberty Building and Loan $29,000 in April 2024.

I have spent a lot of time looking at campaign finance records over the last 20 years, and I’ve seen some weird things. I once caught a lawmaker buying himself a golf cart — two, actually — and calling it a transportation expense. But this was the first time I had seen where a candidate or PAC loaned money to a bank. Usually, it works the other way around.

In his prepared statement, Sorrell had called such investments commonplace. In a follow-up, I asked him why.

“Survey the reports of most major PACs in Alabama and you will see that many participate in some form of interest-bearing return,” Sorrell said in a follow-up question. “That is what was meant by that comment.”

I have seen where PACs and campaigns might draw a smidgen of interest from a savings account or something similar, but I haven’t found anyone recording a loan made to a bank before. (And technically, First Liberty Building and Loan wasn’t a bank, but an uninsured commercial lender with a name that sounded kind of bank-like. Not that that makes things any better.)

However, there was a time when he wasn’t sure this was something he could do. I know this because, last year, he asked the Alabama Ethics Commission whether it was legal.

According to Commission records, Sorrell submitted six questions to them in 2024. Those questions make an interesting progression — the kind that, if your teenager asked them, you might want to know what exactly they were up to.

• First, Sorrell asked whether he could invest in a certificate of deposit.

• From there, he asked whether it must be FDIC-insured.

• And then, what if it wasn’t a bank, but some other kind of something he could loan money to?

• And finally, were there any restrictions at all?

In a formal opinion issued last April, the Commission told Sorrell that, as long as he didn’t mingle personal and political money, the law was silent.

“There are no restrictions on the types of investments a PAC or PCC could participate in beyond buying a bank CD or loaning money to earn interest,” the Commission wrote.

Less than two weeks later, Sorrell made the loan to Frost’s lending company.

• So if the Commission gave him the legal all-clear to gamble with his political donors’ money, what does it matter if he blew it on a Ponzi scheme?

First, it’s a question of judgment. But more important than that, it’s a question he doesn’t want his opponents to ask.

Just three days ago — after the Ponzi scheme became public but before he was revealed as a one of its suckers —Sorrell challenged his Republican primary opponent, Caroleen Dobson, to sign a “Clean Campaign Pledge” to refrain from negative attacks on her opponent.

Sorrell doesn’t want Dobson saying anything mean about him. Interesting timing, huh?

I’m just extrapolating out here, but I would presume such negative attacks might include Dobson asking whether Sorrell can recognize a Ponzi scheme when he sees one. I would if I were her.

Maybe his demand, just days before his foolish investment became public, was just weird timing. Maybe they aren’t related at all.

But if that’s a coincidence, then I have some unregistered securities I’d like to sell him.

BRUTAL: Joy Reid MELTS DOWN After Piers Morgan TORCHES Her for Playing the Race Card Over MSNBC Firing

by Jim Hᴏft Jul. 18, 2025 8:15 am

Piers Morgan tore into the disgraced former MSNBC host during a fiery segment on Piers Morgan Uncensored, exposing the hollow race-baiting excuse Reid offered for her firing from the far-left cable network.

The exchange quickly spiraled after Morgan rolled tape of Reid emotionally melting down over her ouster — a clip that showed her crying and suggesting she was fired because she’s black.

It can be recalled that Reid posted a video of herself crying while addressing the show’s cancellation.

“My show had value…And that,” Reid began before starting to cry. “I’m sorry…What I was doing had value.”

She then started bragging about how many far-left issues her show addressed while continuing to struggle with her emotions.

“What I will just say is that in the end,” she continued while an assistant handed her a tissue. “Is where I land is that the moment of guilt that I felt that I went hard on so many issues, whether it was the Black Lives Matter images of a young baby or a mom or dad that was killed.”

She continued to pat herself on the back for supposedly standing up for Asian Americans facing discrimination, defending illegal aliens, and bashing President Trump before turning her attention to the racist 1619 project, which she called “the real founding of this country.”

Reid then turned her attention to the Israel-Hama war, where she expressed sympathy for the Jewish State’s oppressors.

“The American people have a right to object to little babies being bombed,” she stated. “I’m not sorry that I stood up for those things because those things are of God, and I’m a church girl.”

“So, I’m not sorry. I’m just proud of my show.”

Morgan didn’t hold back during the interview.

"Let's be honest. I don't think you were fired after all those years because of your skin color or because you're a Black woman. I think you were fired because your show just got increasingly unpopular. It happens all the time in TV — that's why you got let go. Why play the race card?"==Morgan asked.

BOOM. Cue the meltdown.

Joy Reid lashed out, stating, "First of all, I love the fact that your play the race card is your version of the race card. You literally are so fixated on trying to racialize conversations with me, Piers. I find it actually quite charming."

The two begin shouting at each other in a heated exchange.
