Mask Mandates in 2024?

 

My name is Tim Hazelo, and I am a veteran and the former Chairman of the Island County Republican Party. On November 4, 2024, I chose not to wear a mask as an election observer here in Island County. Even though I was quiet and caused no disruption, I was escorted out by two law enforcement officers who were not wearing masks. I was cited and subsequently prosecuted by the chief elected prosecutor, Greg Banks, for the lowest possible infraction! I then made a motion for dismissal, and it got crazy. Greg Banks sent me a letter stating he was adding criminal trespassing to the charges, and if I did not plead guilty and take his punishment, he would elevate it to a felony! I did nothing wrong, so I would not plead guilty. Now he is charging me with a felony for Unauthorized Access to a Voting Center! As of now, the two superior court judges in our county have recused themselves, and the judge who was assigned from a neighboring county was disqualified by Greg Banks. It turns out Greg Banks is a far-left prosecutor. He has called Trump supporters the same as the , he said we need to rid ourselves of the disease of Trump supporters, and in not-so-many words, he wished death on us all for not wearing a mask. So it seems he is prosecuting me, the de facto face of conservatism and MAGA in our area, for personal reasons. LAWFARE! If I committed a crime, I would accept it, but I will not cave to this person because of politics! On July 8 - 10, we had a trial. The disorderly conduct was dismissed as there was none! Mind you, that was the only citation I received. I was found guilty after a crazy trial where we were not able to present our side of the case in any productive way. Heck, we were not even allowed to present the actual WAC that dictates auditors' duties and roles, let alone discuss the actual crime and its definition that I am being charged with. So now we go to appeal. The government knows the process is just as much a punishment as any conviction, so they keep pushing. Eventually, we go broke, our reputation is ruined, our jobs are lost, and we give up. Help us win and prevent this from happening to anyone else.
