Mexican Illegal Alien Arrested for Claiming False Kidnapping by ICE Agents

July 17, 2025 | Sundance |

This story is representative of just how desperate the political left and media have become over the issue of deporting illegal aliens.

41-year-old Yuriana Julia Pelaez Calderon, of South Los Angeles, who is an illegal alien, participated in a scheme to falsify a rather elaborate story claiming to have been kidnapped by ICE agents. The woman and a group of co-conspirators, including her lawyer, fabricated a story and held press conferences claiming she was abducted by ICE agents. The entire story was false, and she was arrested for fabricating the scheme [DOJ Announcement Here]

DOJ – LOS ANGELES – An illegal alien from Mexico has been charged in a federal criminal complaint with orchestrating a phony kidnapping – which she blamed on federal agents or people working with federal agents – to generate public sympathy and solicit donations, the Justice Department announced today.

[…] According to an affidavit filed with the complaint filed Wednesday, an attorney representing Calderon’s family held a press conference on June 30 to announce that Calderon had reportedly been kidnapped five days earlier at a Jack in the Box restaurant parking lot in downtown Los Angeles and brought to San Ysidro, where “she was presented to [a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement] staffer” and “presented with voluntary self-deportation paperwork.” The attorney then said Calderon refused to sign the paperwork and demanded to speak to a judge and a lawyer. In response, “she was punished” and was sent to a warehouse in an undisclosed location.

The press conference garnered media attention and stoked fear in the community. Meanwhile, Calderon’s daughter set up a GoFundMe page, requesting $4,500 and stating that Calderon “was taken by masked men in an unmarked vehicle…when she was on her way to work.”According to the complaint, this entire story was fabricated. (First of all, who would want to kidnap her? They wouldn't take the take the ugliest, if a woman is going to be kidnapped, she would at least be nice looking. KEK)

WOW! An illegal in California has been charged for STAGING A KIDNAPPING & attempting to FRAME ICE The "kidnapping" hoax is DIRECTLY out of the Democrats' playbook. Their rhetoric enabled this. Mexican national Julie Calderon pretended she was taken by ICE in a Jack in the Box parking lot. This scheme involved a fake press conference, police report, and GoFundMe. Calderon was found roaming free, after convincing leftwing activists that she was in custody. DHS says she was regularly using her iPhone, although her attorney pretended like she had no real ability to contact him or her family, under the guise she was being held hostage. Despicable. Other co-conspirators are expected to be charged as well.

President Trump Announces Intent to Sue Wall Street Journal and Rupert Murdoch

July 17, 2025 | Sundance |

The Wall Street Journal has published an article [SEE HERE] essentially trying to smear President Trump by saying they have gained custody of a leather bound book, put together by Ghislaine Maxwell for Jeffrey Epstein’s 50th birthday in 2003. The book reportedly contains a “roasting style” letter sent by Donald Trump to Jeffrey Epstein outlining their sexual prowess.

There are some who have speculated the recent tone and response by President Trump to those who requested release of the “Epstein files” may have been a proactive decision by Trump who knew the WSJ story was being assembled. However, the entire thing seems so over-the-top ridiculous it’s likely fake news or manufactured foolishness; akin to the Chris Steel claims of “tapes”showing President Trump standing on a bed in Moscow peeing on prostitutes (completely untrue and stupid).

President Trump responded: “The Wall Street Journal, and Rupert Murdoch, personally, were warned directly by President Donald J. Trump that the supposed letter they printed by President Trump to Epstein was a FAKE and, if they print it, they will be sued. Mr. Murdoch stated that he would take care of it but, obviously, did not have the power to do so.

The Editor of The Wall Street Journal, Emma Tucker, was told directly by Karoline Leavitt, and by President Trump, that the letter was a FAKE, but Emma Tucker didn’t want to hear that. Instead, they are going with a false, malicious, and defamatory story anyway. President Trump will be suing The Wall Street Journal, NewsCorp, and Mr. Murdoch, shortly. The Press has to learn to be truthful, and not rely on sources that probably don’t even exist.

President Trump has already beaten George Stephanopoulos/ABC, 60 Minutes/CBS, and others, and looks forward to suing and holding accountable the once great Wall Street Journal. It has truly turned out to be a “Disgusting and Filthy Rag” and, writing defamatory lies like this, shows their desperation to remain relevant. If there were any truth at all on the Epstein Hoax, as it pertains to President Trump, this information would have been revealed by Comey, Brennan, Crooked Hillary, and other Radical Left Lunatics years ago. It certainly would not have sat in a file waiting for “TRUMP” to have won three Elections. This is yet another example of FAKE NEWS! (TS: 18 Jul 00:33 UTC)

Make Epstein Dead Again

The Epstein speculations won't go away unless you kill them and you must kill them by dragging Epstein's dead body back into the light (Long article, 4 pages, but worth the read, just posting the 1st page)

The Epstein story is officially undead. It does no good to pretend as if people don’t care, or shouldn’t care, even if the least consequential version of the Epstein story—that he was an unusually well-connected “fixer” with a taste for underage girls and sex parties, who gained access and favor to influential people through his sociopathic charm and the presumption of importance conferred by relationships with other influential people, and that his initial wealth came mostly from one man,Leslie Wexner (whose own deep connections to Israel were incidental), but was not involved in any kind of intelligence operation or blackmail ring except maybe for the banal purposes of his own self-enrichment, that his plea deal in 2008 was a normal legal outcome given the nature of the charges and only looks more sinister in hindsight, and finally that his suicide was, well, just a suicide—turns out to be the truth.

Do you believe that’s the truth? Does it seem like it might plausibly be the truth?: Maybe, but after everything that has been said about Epstein, and all that we know—and all that we don’t know, and all that appears to remain purposefully shrouded in mystery—one is forgiven for doubting that this is the actual story, and certainly one is forgiven for not passively accepting this story as the default accounting of who this guy was and what he was up to.

Epstein was a real man who lived a bizarre and deeply compromised life that, at minimum, revolved around some of the most powerful institutions and individuals in the Western world. His activities unfolded under salacious and opaque circumstances, leaving behind a trail of unanswered questions with clear political and legal implications. His network was never fully mapped, but it almost certainly included an unusually high concentration of global elites. Major media outlets have repeatedly suppressed serious inquiry into his operations. The high-profile figures most frequently linked to him—Clinton, Gates, Prince Andrew, etc.—have never faced meaningful investigation or consequence. And nearly every aspect of his public identity remains clouded in implausible detail, suggestive of associations far more complex and troubling than anything officially acknowledged.

So yes, Epstein is a real man with a real story, but he is also a symbol of the public’s fears and anxieties about how power actually functions. People generally distrust that what they see on the surface is how things actually are. How could it be otherwise? What they see on the surface is a carnival of incompetence and venal decision-making that doesn’t seem to be administered by any consistent logic. At the very least there doesn’t seem to be a straight line between the expressed interests of the governed, writ large, and the people doing the governing. The assumption is that there is some hidden architecture of forces and interests—elite interests, billionaires’ interests, corporations’ interests, gloablists’ interests, deep state interests, Jewish interests, [choose your fighter]—intermediating between the People’s interests and whatever actually gets done at the highest levels of government and society.

Every once in a while a figure like Epstein breaches the surface—providing something the people can see—suggesting the hidden iceberg underneath.

Are people wrong that there is something underneath the surface? There is a line of “serious” thinking that we ought to dismiss sub-surface speculations as “conspiracy theories.” These claims live in a kind of quantum epistemic No Man’s Land where the moment they are verifiable, the moment they are seen, they cease to be conspiracy theories and instantaneously migrate into the realm of rational inquiry.

The conspiracy theory skeptic therefore can never be wrong. His definition of conspiracy theories precludes these ideas ever being verifiably true, even as he depends on the conspiracy theoretical mode of thinking to allow him to uncover and arrive at certain truths he’d otherwise stay ignorant of (Covid lab leak is a good example).

Truth is good for own its own sake and doesn’t require additional justification beyond itself, but if the goal of the administration and its messaging around Epstein is to get people to “move on” from this story and not allow it to be a distraction, the best way to achieve this goal is to, as plainly and transparently as possible, simply explain who Jeffrey Epstein was, what he did, for whom, and to what ends.

As I said in my post about conspiracy theories:

“The antidote to all of this—the paranoia, the schizobabble, the speculative excess—is simple: tell the truth.

What Could Possibly Go Wrong?

by Tyler Durden Friday, Jul 18, 2025 - 03:00 PM

New York Democrats—and the broader party in desperate need of a course correction—continue to double, triple, and even quadruple down on all things woke.

They've now taken it a step further by openly cheerleading socialism and Marxism. This increasingly radical un-American direction, backed by a network of dark money-funded NGOs, has even drawn criticism from prominent figureslike JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon, who recently described Democrats as "idiots … with big hearts and little brains."

Democrats "overdid DEI," Dimon said last week, adding, "I have a lot of friends who are Democrats, and they're idiots."

Dimon isn't wrong—in fact, he's spot on. He sees clearly that the party hasveered further down a toxic, increasingly un-American pathat a time whenthe Overton Window shifted back toward the center-right after a decade of woke.

Yet Democrats seem oblivious to this realignment of what is now socially acceptable in the eyes of the American people.

Meanwhile, Democrats are testing the waters with socialist Bernie Sanders and Marxist New York City Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, posing for a staged photo op.

"The Oligarchs are prepared to undermine democracy & spend tens of millions to buy the election for his opponents," Sanders' social media team wrote on X, adding, "We will not allow that to happen. Stand with Zohran."

However,Democrats remain trapped in the elitist mindsetthat anyone who didn't attend a liberal arts college is somehow unintelligent. Their supposed war on billionaires is pure political theater, especially given how deeply the party is supported by leftist billionaires through a massive web of dark money-funded NGOs and law firms.

For instance, a New York Post's deep dive found that Zohran…

Kremlin Blasts 'Hostile' US Talk Of NATO Quickly Seizing Kaliningrad

by Tyler Durden Friday, Jul 18, 2025 - 12:25 PM

Russia has blasted recent comments by a top US general who boasted about NATO's claimed ability to swiftly capture the Russian Baltic exclave of Kaliningrad if the military action is deemed necessary.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday that "NATO is an instrument of confrontation, it is a bloc that is hostile towards our country" - in a press briefing. He was responding to prior words of General Christopher Donahue, the US Army Europe and Africa commander, who described provocatively that NATO could seize Kaliningrad '''"from the ground in a timeframe that is unheard of and faster than we’ve ever been able to do, 'ording to Defense News.

"This is yet another statement in a series of such hostile, aggressive statements that we now often hear from representatives of the defense departments of European countries," Peskov added.

Gen. Donahue said the Western military alliance has already developed an operational plan to stymie the defensive potential of Russian forces in the Kaliningrad region. This is part of the new “Eastern Flank Deterrence Line," he said.

"We know what we have to develop and the use case that we’re using is you have to [deter] from the ground," the top commander continued.

"The land domain is not becoming less important, it’s becoming more important. You can now take down [anti-access, aerial-denial] A2AD bubbles from the ground. You can now take over sea from the ground. All of those things we are watching happen in Ukraine."

And that's when he specifically put focus on Kaliningrad, which is surrounded by Poland to the south and Lithuania to the north and east:

For example, Donahue noted, Kaliningrad, Russia, is roughly 47 miles wide and surrounded by NATO on all sides and the Army and its allies now have the capability to “take that down from the ground in a timeframe that is unheard of and faster than we’ve ever been able to do.”

"We’ve already planned that and we’ve already developed it. The mass and momentum problem that Russia poses to us … we’ve developed the capability to make sure that we can stop that mass and momentum problem," Donahue added.

As for other recent issues raised by the West that Peskov responded strongly to in his Friday press briefing, the Putin spokesman said of EU efforts to drive forward the next anti-Moscow sanctions package, "We are against them [unilateral sanctions]. But at the same time, of course, we have already acquired a certain immunity from sanctions. We have adapted to life under sanctions."

"Each new package [of sanctions] adds a negative effect for the countries that join it. This is a double-edged sword," Peskov added. Thus the potential for direct confrontation with the West continues to heat up, with no off-ramp or a promising peace talk scenario anywhere on the horizon.

DNI Tulsi Gabbard

@DNIGabbard

🧵 Americans will finally learn the truth about how in 2016, intelligence was politicized and weaponized by the most powerful people in the Obama Administration to lay the groundwork for what was essentially a years-long coup against President @realDonaldTrump, subverting the will of the American people and undermining our democratic republic'. (that is the first time of saying it correctly, “our democratic Republic”) Here’s how:

The lies, the secrets, the hoaxes, the thievery, the killing was the cycle from hell, since 1962. (It is 63 years and a half, the lies and DS has been destroying America, and hiding all their crimes. (Is Q celebrating this today?)

That is how historic this release is today! This entire exposure was held up for 5 years since Trump's first term. Amen!

By Brian Stelter, CNN(Why are they still using Helter Stelter?)

Updated: 3:00 PM EDT, Fri July 18, 20251/2

From the outside, the idea made no sense at all. Why would a broadcast network cancel one of its best-known shows that ranks number one in its time slot?

But on the inside, at CBS, there were several plausible answers to that question. While “The Late Show” host Stephen Colbert was on his usual mid-summer vacation earlier this month, CBS executives weighed the pros and cons of canceling the unique but unfortunately unprofitable show.

The “cons” were obvious, as evidenced by the studio audience’s boos when Colbert announced the cancellation on Thursday night.

However, the “pros” ultimately won out because, according to sources close to the network, “The Late Show” was losing money and there was no apparent path to turning around its financial position.

It was an “agonizing decision,” as the executives admitted in a statement.

But CBS insiders insist, even when speaking frankly on condition of anonymity, that the move was financially driven, not politically motivated.

Many observers have huge doubts about that, given that Colbert has been an outspoken critic of President Trump.

The Writers Guild of America, which represents writers on “The Late Show,” said Friday that it is concerned the cancellation was a “bribe” to curry favor with the Trump administration. The guild wants the New York state attorney general to launch an investigation.

While the political uproar continues, here’s what the data indicates.

Late-night TV’s unfortunate reality

The bottom has indeed been falling out of the late-night TV business model for several years now. Audience fragmentation and digital competition have led to a decline in ad revenue across the board. One insider described it as “cratering” at CBS.

That’s because, even though Colbert outrated his competition at 11:35 p.m., the overall audience for late-night has been shrinking.“Ad dollars and audiences are moving away from late night shows,” Variety reported — and that was back in 2023.

The financial picture has only gotten gloomier since then. Guideline, an ad data firm, estimates that the networks’ late-night shows earned $439 million in ad revenue in 2018 and only $220 million in 2024 — a decline of 50 percent.

The shows hosted by Colbert and his rivals, Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel, are inherently expensive to produce, with hundreds of staffers and elaborate studio productions. The shows are also an awkward fit on streaming platforms since they tend to be topical, limiting the shelf life of the content. Colbert’s commentaries and interviews often go viral on social media, but that attention isn’t easily converted into cold, hard cash since CBS doesn’t control the social platforms.

2/2

But couldn’t CBS have explored changes to the cost structure? That’s what the network did later in the evening, in its 12:35 a.m. time slot, in 2023. “The Late Late Show with James Corden” ended, partly due to the fact that it was no longer making money for CBS, and a cheaper show called “After Midnight” was launched in its place.

Colbert was an executive producer on both “After Midnight” and “The Late Show,” so he had some visibility into the financial circumstances.

But the swiftness of the network’s decision suggests that he wasn’t given much time to suggest cost savings or other alternatives.

A ‘casualty of the merger’?

That’s why one person close to Colbert described the show’s retirement, effective in May 2026, as a “casualty of the merger.”

That merger is CBS parent Paramount’s long-gestating deal with Skydance, a media company controlled by David Ellison, son of Oracle billionaire Larry Ellison.

The elder Ellison is a longtime friend of President Trump and has previously described himself as a Trump supporter. And David Ellison was spotted with the president earlier this year at UFC matches.

The pending deal matters for two reasons: One, because companies almost always try to cut costs around the time of a merger; and two, because the deal requires sign-off from the Trump administration.

Paramount entered into a settlement agreement with Trump earlier this month to resolve Trump’s lawsuit against the CBS News program “60 Minutes.” The company said it would pay $16 million toward Trump’s future presidential library. Trump suggested at the time that there were other components to the settlement.

While there is no evidence that Colbert’s cancellation is connected to the settlement,Democratic senators like Elizabeth Warrenare asking questions about the possibility.“America deserves to know if his show was canceled for political reasons,”Warren said in a statement Thursday night. (Why are the democrats so fixated on Colbert? They lost another Trump hating tv voice?)

At the very least, CBS executives moved forward with the retirement of “The Late Show” franchise knowing that the optics would cause all manner of controversy.

Trump personally celebrated the cancellation on Friday morning, writing on Truth Social that “I absolutely love that Colbert got fired. His talent was even less than his ratings. I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next. Has even less talent than Colbert!”

Meanwhile, the Trump administration’s merger review process continues to move forward, albeit slowly. David Ellison was in Washington to meet with FCC chairman Brendan Carr and other FCC officials on Tuesday, according to a government filing by Skydance on Friday.

The company said Ellison “discussed Skydance’s commitment to unbiased journalism and its embrace of diverse viewpoints, principles that will ensure CBS’s editorial decision-making reflects the varied ideological perspectives of American viewers.”

(Were the late night shows getting USAID money that they funded to Democrats in Congress? And how did he have 225 staff members, why?)
