President Trump launched a new front in his media legal battles Friday, filing a $10 billion defamation lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal over its disputed Jeffrey Epstein reporting while simultaneously suffering a setback as a federal judge dismissed his nearly $50 million copyright lawsuit against Bob Woodward.

 

The President filed an 18-page defamation lawsuit in federal court in the Southern District of Florida against News Corp, Dow Jones & Company, Rupert Murdoch, and two Wall Street Journal reporters over their publication of a story claiming he authored a lewd birthday letter to Jeffrey Epstein in 2003.

 

On the same day, U.S. District Judge Paul Gardephe in Manhattan dismissed the President’s nearly $50 million lawsuit against journalist Bob Woodward, ruling that President Trump cannot copyright interviews conducted as part of his official presidential duties.
