When I saw the name 'Barsoomian' the first thing I thought of was Edgar Rice Burroughs 'Carter of Mars' series - in which the inhabitants of Mars refer to the red planet as 'Barsoom'. A Barsoomian is a Martian.

POTUS has mentioned recently that "we're going to Mars…"

Is this code for going after Barsoomian?

Also, remember how pedogate was defused in the UK back in 2012. There were a lot of rumours swiling around about Tory peer Lord McAlpine and the BBC flagship program 'Newsnight' was all set to run an interview with a guy who'd been claiming he was an historic victim and could identify MacAlpine.

The accuser then retracts his story and says he made a mistake. Funnily enough, this was a move straight out of a book on politics that MacAlpine published in 1999 in 'The New Machiavelli: The Art of Politics in Business' called the 'false accuser strategy'.

To quote: “Another useful ploy is the false accusation. First, create a situation where you are wrongly accused. Then, at a convenient moment, arrange for the false accusation to be shown to be false beyond all doubt. Those who have made accusations against both the company and its management become discredited. Further accusations will then be treated with great suspicion. Always remember that people’s memories are very frail, remembering only both the high spots and the lows of a person’s career, and then seldom remembering accurately. People believe in the facts that it suits them to believe”.
