Fed Chair Powell Criminally Referred To DoJ For Perjury

Luna is accusing Powell of perjury on two occasions, according to a letter to the DOJ first obtained by Fox News Digital.

"On June 25, 2025, Chairman Powell provided testimony under oath before the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs regarding the renovation of the Federal Reserve’s Eccles Building. In his statements, he made several materially false claims," Luna's letter said.

Specifically, she accused him of lying about lavish amenities at the Federal Reserve's Eccles Building and misrepresenting its state of maintenance.

"Separately, in a letter to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director Russell Vought, Chairman Powell characterized the changes that escalated the cost of the project from $1.9 billion to $2.5 billion as minor. However, documents reviewed by congressional investigators indicate that the scope and cost overruns of this project were neither minor in nature nor in substance," Luna wrote.

She claimed his statement that the cost increase was to simplify construction and avoid further delays was false.

"It is contradicted by the Federal Reserve’s final submission to the National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC) and by the assertions made in Director Vought’s own original letter to Chairman Powell," Luna wrote.

"According to those records, the revised plan includes a VIP private dining room, premium marble finishes, modernized elevators, water features, and a roof terrace garden—features that Powell publicly denied existed. While Powell presented the changes as simplifications, the actual project plans suggest the opposite."

Trade outlet Mortgage Professional reported that Powell denied all accusations of perjury and has directed a formal watchdog probe into renovation project costs of the Eccles Building.

She first announced she would be referring Powell last week on X.

Perjury can be punishable by up to five years in prison in addition to fines.

While Trump and his allies would clearly like to see a Fed Chair cut rates, there are unintended consequences they could be missing here. Firing and replacing Powell would make investors nervous about the stability of the Fed and its ability to deliver low and stable price inflation.

This could push longer-term interest rates up – the opposite of Trump's goal.

Hackers exploit Microsoft flaw to launch global attack

Any government agency or corporation using SharePoint Server is reportedly at risk

Hackers have exploited a major security flaw in Microsoft’s SharePoint software to breach document-sharing systems used by government agencies and businesses worldwide, the Washington Post reported Monday, citing state officials and private researchers.

The attack, which unfolded over the past several days, targeted organizations in the US, the EU, China, and Brazil. The hackers leveraged a previously unknown vulnerability that allowed them to steal cryptographic keys, giving them access to sensitive systems even after reboot. The flaw remained undetected despite Microsoft’s latest security update just two weeks earlier.

”Anybody who’s got a hosted SharePoint server has got a problem,” Adam Meyers of cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike said, describing the issue as “a significant vulnerability." It was not immediately clear who is behind the hack attack, the Washington Post noted.

Microsoft acknowledged the breach and said it was working with the US Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense to contain the damage. As there is currently no fix available, the company advised affected customers to disconnect their servers from the internet.

Russia, which views US tech as a national security threat, is developing isolated systems and promoting state-run platforms. Microsoft, which suspended new software sales in Russia following the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in 2022, now offers only limited services in the country.

Israel Pummels Hodeidah Port, Says 'Yemen's Fate - The Same As Tehran'

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out large-scale strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen on Monday, in order to halt missile fire targeting Israel and tankers bound for Israeli ports traversing the Red Sea. At one point he said in his statement, "As I have made clear — Yemen's fate will be the same as Tehran."

According to the IDF, the operation targeted and destroyed military infrastructure belonging to the Houthi forces at the port of Hodeidah, including engineering equipment used to rebuild port facilities, fuel tanks, and naval vessels involved in military operations against Israel. The IDF also struck boats in nearby waters said to be linked to Houthi operations.

"The IDF has identified the continuous efforts and actions of the Houthi terrorist regime to reestablish terrorist infrastructure at the port, and as such, the components used to advance these efforts were struck," the IDF said.

"The Houthi terrorist regime exploits the maritime zone for the use of force and to carry out terrorist attacks against passing vessels and global maritime trade. The targets struck demonstrate how the Houthi terrorist regime utilizes civilian infrastructure for military and terrorist purposes."

And Defense Minister Katz announced separately, "The IDF is now attacking terrorist targets of the Houthi terrorist regime in the port of Hodeidah and is vigorously enforcing any attempt to restore the terrorist infrastructures that were attacked in the past. As I have made clear – Yemen’s law is Tehran’s law."

He followed by threatening there could be more to come: "The Houthis will pay a heavy price for firing missiles at the State of Israel. We will continue to act at all times and in all places to defend the State of Israel," the defense chief said.

The last significant Israeli aerial attacks occurred on July 7. But these operations aren't shutting down Houthi aggression against Israel. This latest strike operation appears to have primarily been done through drones.

Still, the Houthis remain committed to attacking Israel so long as the IDF is operating in the Gaza Strip. Israeli media reports say there have been at least six Houthi ballistic missiles as well as several drones launched on Israel since the last IDF strikes of early July.

"Grand jury information is narrowly tailored by prosecutors only to provide sufficient evidence to result in an indictment. They don't want to put a lot of material in the grand jury because that would then produce to the defendant."

According to Dershowitz, any significant new details would instead be found in documents that have not been requested by Trump or Bondi:

"[Names of alleged sex fiends associated with Epstein] are not in the grand jury transcripts. They're in sealed records by two or three federal judges in the New York courts. I've seen some of these materials. For example, there's an FBI report of interviews with alleged victims, in which at least one of the victims names very important people, and the names have been redacted…

The documents that transparency advocates should be pursuing include "discovery information, depositions and other things that came out of the Ghislaine Maxwell case and other cases," Dershowitz said, including a case against the UK's Prince Andrew. "The information that hasn't been requested is going to be far more informative than the grand jury information."

Dershowitz cautioned that releasing those documents is a "very complex matter," owing to the risk of posting material containing false accusations about named individuals. As an example, he said the records surely contain an affidavit filed by an alleged victim who'd accused Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump and Richard Branson of having sex with minors, only to later admit she'd made it all up. "We have to be very careful to distinguish true accusations from false accusations, I suspect the courts will be sensitive to that," he said.

Clinton Email Investigation Omitted One Crucial Piece Of Evidence, Declassified Report Finds

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) did not review thumb drives containing potentially significant evidence while investigating Hillary Clinton’s private email server, according to a newly declassified report.

An FBI draft memo from May 2016 stated reviewing the thumb drives would be necessary to conduct a “thorough and complete investigation,” including assessing national security risks associated with the private server. Yet the agency “never finalized the memorandum or submitted this request to the department,” according to the document released Monday by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley.

The document is the appendix to a 2018 Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of Inspector General (OIG) report examining the FBI’s Clinton investigation. Grassley has been seeking information about it since 2018.

“I commend Chairman Grassley for his unwavering, years-long commitment to exposing the truth and holding those who seek to conceal it accountable,” Attorney General Pam Bondi said Monday in a statement. “This Department of Justice is fully committed to transparency and will continue to support good-faith efforts in Congress to ensure accountability across the federal government.”

Comey publicly stated Clinton was “extremely careless” in handling highly classified information but recommended the DOJ bring no charges in July 2016. He launched the probe into false allegations of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia just weeks later.

The 2018 OIG report found the FBI considered “but did not seek permission from the Department to review certain highly classified materials,” but the declassified appendix offers more details about the materials.

“[T]he vast majority of this data has never been reviewed by the FBI, including for counterintelligence purposes, based on concerns that information from certain U.S. victims may be privileged,” the 2018 report states.

Information contained on the thumb drives, which “included former President Barack Obama’s emails” and State Department information, posed concerns about “Executive and Congressional Privileges,” per the report.

No witness stated they believed reviewing the thumb drives “would have changed the outcome” of the investigation, the report notes. Witnesses told the OIG it was “unlikely to include communications from the beginning of former Secretary Clinton’s tenure showing her intent in setting up and using a private email server.”

Grassley said in a statement he is grateful the document is coming to light after “nearly a decade in the shadows.”

“This document shows an extreme lack of effort and due diligence in the FBI’s investigation of former Secretary Clinton’s email usage and mishandling of highly classified information,” Grassley said. “Under Comey’s leadership, the FBI failed to perform fundamental investigative work and left key pieces of evidence on the cutting room floor. The Comey FBI’s negligent approach and perhaps intentional lack of effort in the Clinton investigation is a stark contrast to its full-throated investigation of the Trump-Russia collusion hoax, which was based on the uncorroborated and now discredited Steele dossier. Comey’s decision-making process smacks of political infection.”

Iran Calls for ‘War Crimes’ Trial Against U.K., Germany, France for Supporting Israel

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi suggested in a letter to senior United Nations leaders that the heads of France, Germany, and the United Kingdom “be held to account in international criminal tribunals as defendants for complicity in war crimes” for their support of Israel, Iranian media reported on Monday.

Araghchi made the outlandish suggestion as part of a larger argument that the European states should not reimpose sanctions on Tehran in response to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) finding the country in breach of its international legal obligations. Following the IAEA accusations and Iran’s repeated threats against its neighbor Israel, the three European powers, sometimes referred to in the context of the JCPOA as the “E3,” warned that they would support the “snapback” of U.N. sanctions by August 1 if Iran does not broker a new agreement under the framework of the nuclear deal by that deadline. In anticipation of the deadline, Araghchi wrote to U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and several over top U.N. officials. The letter, revealed by the Iranian state propaganda outlet PressTV on Monday, declares the E3 to have no “legal, political, or moral standing” to demand that the United Nations reimpose sanctions. Araghchi cited support from European leaders for Israel’s “Operation Rising Lion,” a military operation in response to the IAEA rebuke intended to erode Iran’s ability to attack Israel, as proof of “bad faith conduct.”

“Statements of the European Union constitute a clear manifestation of bad faith conduct aimed at depriving the Islamic Republic of Iran of its rights under the Non-Proliferation Treaty,” Araghchi wrote. “Attempting to trigger ‘snapback’ under these circumstances… constitutes an abuse of process.”

Israel rejected the statement, saying it “sends the wrong message to Hamas.”

In the statement, the nations’ foreign ministers wrote that “the suffering of civilians in Gaza has reached new depths. The Israeli government’s aid delivery model is dangerous, fuels instability, and deprives Gazans of human dignity.”

Near-daily mass-casualty events have been reported in the vicinity of the US- and Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation’s aid distribution sites, as Israeli troops have used live fire in attempts to control the crowds. In one ad, viewers hear: “A fanatical [Iranian] regime firing missiles at civilians, while racing towards nuclear weapons … We will finish the mission for our people, for humanity. Israel does what must be done.”

Another warns Europeans of a looming threat from Iran’s missile program: “Iran is developing missiles with ranges of approximately 4,000 kilometers … placing Europe within striking distance,” as blood-red graphics engulf the continent.

Other ads use emotional appeals, such as depicting mothers with newborns under Iranian rocket fire, insisting that while Iran targets civilians, Israel responds with “precision” and only hits military targets.

However, MintPress highlights the factual inaccuracies in these ads. While the Israeli government claims to avoid civilian casualties, at least 935 Iranians have been killed in Israeli strikes since 13 June, compared to just 28 Israeli deaths from retaliatory Iranian missile fire.

At the same time, Israel has destroyed or damaged 94 percent of hospitals in Gaza, and the World Health Organization (WHO) has documented 697 Israeli attacks on medical facilities.

Reports from UNICEF and other humanitarian agencies confirm that Israeli forces have killed or injured over 50,000 Palestinian children and killed more than 1,400 medical personnel. Among them was Dr Adnan al-Bursh, who was tortured to death in Israeli custody.

Despite Israel’s ongoing aid blockade in Gaza, which has caused 66 Palestinian children to die of malnutrition, the ads claim the country is conducting “one of the largest humanitarian operations in the world.” One promotional video from Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs declares: “This is what real aid looks like. Smiles don’t lie. Hamas does.”

The investigation also points to the failure of Google, which owns YouTube, to enforce its own advertising policies, which prohibit content that promotes hatred, violence, or discrimination.

All of the videos cited by MintPress are listed in Google’s Ads Transparency Center as paid content from the Israeli government.

The campaign is just one facet of a much larger public diplomacy effort. Israel’s foreign PR budget has grown by over 2,000 percent, with an additional $150 million allocated to the Foreign Ministry for such initiatives.

Weekly grocery bills for a family of four average $180 to $250 depending on region and diet. College tuition lands at $63,000 for private universities and $29,900 at public institutions. That’s a 15 to 30x surge. But minimum wage? Still $7.25 per hour, unchanged since 2009. That’s just 3.5x over 50 years.

It’s not a cost-of-living increase. It’s a purchasing power crash. Inflation-adjusted metrics show the 1975 dollar equivalent for minimum wage should be at least $13.50 to maintain parity. Real wage growth for most workers failed to track with housing, transportation, education, or essentials. The top line soared. The floor stayed flat. Border Patrol Finds 3,000-Foot ‘Drug Tunnel’ Near San Diego

U.S. Border Patrol agents recently uncovered and shut down a major drug-smuggling tunnel stretching from Tijuana, Mexico, into California.

According to the Daily Mail, the tunnel spanned nearly 3,000 feet, beginning beneath a home in Tijuana and ending near a warehouse in Otay Mesa, just south of San Diego.

Authorities said the tunnel was still under construction when it was discovered in April, but was already very advanced.

The tunnel was equipped with electrical wiring, lighting, a ventilation system, and even a rail system to transport drugs. Authorities believe the Sinaloa Cartel, once led by Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, is behind the construction.

Although El Chapo is currently serving a life sentence in a maximum-security prison in Colorado, the cartel remains a dominant force in Mexico and along the U.S. border.

Agents reported that the tunnel measured approximately 42 inches in height, 28 inches in width, and extended as deep as 50 feet underground. Mexican authorities discovered the entrance concealed beneath freshly laid tile flooring in a home in the Nueva Tijuana neighborhood, the outlet reported.

Border Patrol reports that the discovery comes amid tight border security, with fewer illegal crossings in recent years. Jeffrey Stalnaker, the acting chief patrol agent in San Diego, commended the agents who discovered the tunnel.

“Stopping drug tunnels like this is vital to keeping Americans safe,” he said. “I’m proud of our team and the help we got from Mexican police.”

Since 1993, authorities have discovered over 95 tunnels in the San Diego area. This latest tunnel will be sealed with concrete to ensure it cannot be used again, said the report.

Another tunnel was discovered earlier this year in El Paso, Texas. Found on January 9, it stretched from Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, into El Paso’s storm drain system. Authorities said it had already been used for human smuggling, with some migrants reportedly paying as much as $20,000 to enter the U.S.

The driver was charged after officers allegedly found firearms and ammunition in the boot.

Upon questioning, the man allegedly produced a fake document claiming the vehicle was being used to transport Chinese consulate officials.

During a search of the car, officers located a box containing 48 live rounds of ammunition in the trunk.

The man, who holds an active firearms licence, allegedly told police he believed it was “the best place to store his ammunition”.

Officers seized the ammunition along with other items suspected of being used to impersonate police.

Beverage distributor Republic National exits California

Republic National Distributing Co., a wholesale beverage alcohol distributor, plans to close its operations across California by the end of September and slash 1,756 jobs statewide, according to WARN notices and media reports.

Grand Prairie, Texas-based Republic National Distributing Co. is one of the country’s largest wine and spirits wholesalers.

CEO Bob Hendrickson cited increasing operational costs and “industry headwinds” as some of the reasons for the layoffs.

“This decision was driven by rising operational costs, industry headwinds, and supplier changes that made the market unsustainable”, Hendrickson said in a news release published in Wine Industry Advisor.

Distribution and logistics firms hit hard by layoffs

Ohio Eagle Distributing LLC, a beer distribution company, is in the process of selling all of its assets, including facilities in Lima and West Chester, Ohio, according to state filings.

The sale of the business will result in 124 jobs being cut at the two facilities, including 39 truck drivers. The sale is expected to be finalized by Sept. 8.

Cold storage provider Americold Logistics is laying off 110 employees from a facility in Atlanta, citing low volumes. The layoffs are scheduled to begin Sept. 5.

Lightspeed Logistics Miami LLC will eliminate 110 delivery driver positions and close its same-day delivery service in Hialeah, Florida, by Aug. 17, according to a WARN filing. The company did not provide a reason for the closure or layoffs.
