COLUMBUS, Ohio —
Northern Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie says that he was hospitalized.
This comes after Massie says he hammered his finger with a fence post driver.
The Republican member of Congress says that a cattle fence on his property was destroyed by a drunk driver earlier this week, necessitating the repair.
He suffered an exposed compound fracture in his left thumb.
Images posted on social media by the representative appear to show him being admitted to a trauma center at Grant Medical Center, which is located in Columbus.
Still, Massie made light of the injury on social media, saying, "They can shove a metal pin up my thumb and I still won’t vote for it!"
The representative has become one of President Donald Trump's top GOP primary targets this year after repeatedly voting against key parts of his agenda. This has included opposition from Massie to U.S. military strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities and the "Big Beautiful Bill."
Massie has been a member of Congress for Kentucky's 4th Congressional District since 2012.
