It's ackshyually been wetter than average this summer in flyover country with temps that have been slightly below because of all the clouds during peak heating.
Heatwaves are typical, they only vary in duration/strength each summer.
Now 2012, that was a Heat Wave Summer in Flyover.
Many such consecutive days over 100.
That said, it wasn't that humid like this current one.
It's not the heat, it's the humidity as any Floridian will tell you.
Arizonans think they have it hot until they experience the humidity somewhere else.
