Larry Elder posted this on X:
Obama isn’t sweating about the consequences of the newly released docs showing phony intel used to get Trump—and then to make his election look illegitimate. If Obama got indicted for treason, sedition or littering, the country would be on fire—and Obama knows it. So does Trump.
In response Kris Anne Hall (constitutional attorney) posted this:
Is it not a form of terrorism to suggest that “America will be on fire” if one individual, particularly a person of immense power and influence, is held accountable under the law?
Let’s be crystal clear: when threats of violence are used to sway the legal system, that’s not protest, it’s extortion. And those who repeat this narrative are either ignorant irresponsible or reprehensible. They mock justice while promoting its collapse.
We’re talking about someone who has held the highest office in the land, who commands a massive following, and who has had the power to shape national and global events. If someone with that level of power is shielded from prosecution simply because of who they are or what people fear they might incite, then justice is no longer blind.
It has been bought, bullied, and broken.
Because if justice is suspended under fear, isn’t that, by definition, political terrorism? It’s the antithesis of a constitutional republic.
At that point, what truly separates America from a third-world regime?
Is the only distinction that our citizens have better jobs and bigger houses while the rule of law crumbles behind closed doors?
A Republic cannot survive if justice only applies to the powerless.
We cannot call ourselves a nation of laws if those with influence are above them.
This is not about partisanship—it’s about principle.
The strength of a Republic is not found in its comfort, but in its courage.
Without that courage, even the most prosperous society becomes little more than a well-furnished Banana Republic.
