US nuclear weapons program hacked by foreign agents

Vulnerabilities from a five-year-old hack are still being exploited by hostile actors.

Foreign agents were able to penetrate the systems of the U.S. agency responsible for maintaining and designing nuclear weapons.

The National Nuclear Security Administration, which operates under the United States Department of Energy, was compromised along with other sectors of the department.

According to Bloomberg, while the NNSA is semiautonomous, it still holds the responsibility of producing and dismantling nuclear arms in the United States. This makes the intrusion even more concerning when considering the origins of those who penetrated the system.

'Microsoft is aware of active attacks targeting on-premises SharePoint Server customers.'

The Energy Department revealed in an email to Bloomberg that an "exploitation of a Microsoft SharePoint zero-day vulnerability began affecting the Department of Energy" on Friday, July 18.

Russian return to chess triggers European complaints

The International Chess Federation has reportedly reversed sanctions and will allow the Russian women’s team compete in 2025 under a neutral flag

The European Chess Union (ECU) has objected to a decision by the International Chess Federation (FIDE) to reinstate the Russian women’s team under a neutral flag at the 2025 World Team Championship in Spain this November. The ECU is arguing the move contravenes sanctions guidelines approved at the sport’s 2024 General Assembly in Budapest.

While exemptions were granted for “vulnerable groups,” such as underage players and individuals with disabilities, the ECU said these did not apply to full national teams.

FIDE banned Russia and Belarus from team tournaments in March 2022 after the escalation of the Ukraine conflict, but allowed players from both countries to compete individually under neutral status. The recent move marks a policy shift, with FIDE confirming that a Russian women’s team will be allowed to play in the upcoming championship in Linares under the FIDE flag and without national symbols.

“This decision directly contradicts the most recent decisions of the FIDE General Assembly taken in Budapest,” the European chess body claimed.

The ECU, which represents 54 national federations, urged FIDE to maintain sanctions, claiming that the circumstances that prompted the measures in 2022 had not changed and that team participation should remain suspended until the issues are “fully resolved.”

FIDE said its decision aligns with International Olympic Committee (IOC) guidance, mirrors steps by other sports federations, builds on a January 2025 precedent permitting neutral teams of vulnerable groups, and remains contingent on a non-objection letter from the IOC.

Responding to the criticism, Russian Chess Federation Executive Director Aleksandr Tkachev called the reaction predictable and said it reaffirmed Russia’s transfer to the Asian Chess Federation, where “such issues do not arise” and the principle of keeping politics out of sport is upheld.

He argued the backlash reflects views of “a minority of European officials,” not players, who continue to compete with Russians individually.

Russian officials have accused Western nations of politicizing sport and pressuring federations to exclude Russia’s sportsmen and sportswomen. Moscow has also claimed that Ukraine and its backers have influenced FIDE decisions.

https://www.rt.com/africa/621941-ethiopia-rejects-trump-claims-us-funded-mega-dam/ African nation hits out at Trump over mega-dam claim

An official from Addis Ababa’s office overseeing the project has said that the facility was built “without any foreign aid”

Ethiopia has rejected US President Donald Trump’s claims that Washington funded a multibillion-dollar hydropower dam that the East African country has built on the Blue Nile, calling the statement false and “destructive.”

Trump repeatedly said at a White House dinner with Republican senators last Friday that Ethiopia constructed the controversial Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) “largely” with US money.

“It doesn’t allow much water going into the Nile River. So you can imagine Egypt’s not thrilled because, they live off the Nile River,” he said. The president also claimed in a post on his Truth Social online platform last month that the “massive” dam, “stupidly financed” by the US, “substantially reduces the water flowing” into the Nile River.

However, on Tuesday, Fikrte Tamir, deputy director of the GERD Coordination Office, told reporters that the project had been completed “without any foreign aid.” She said that over its 14-year construction period, it was financed entirely through government resources and public contributions, including salary deductions and donations from the diaspora.

“Regarding the remarks made by US President Donald Trump, the Ethiopian government should respond diplomatically and wisely,” Fikrte added.

The landlocked country’s government announced the completion of the GERD earlier this month. The facility has been under construction since 2011 and is designed to generate up to 5.15 gigawatts of electricity, making it the largest hydroelectric power plant in Africa. The project was initially scheduled for completion within six years on a $4 billion budget. On Tuesday, the GERD Coordination Office announced that 1.7 billion birr (about $12.3 million) has been raised from the public alone during the 2024/25 Ethiopian fiscal year.

The project, which Addis Ababa sees as a transformative energy source for the region and a symbol of “regional cooperation and mutual benefit,” has long been a source of dispute. Egypt and Sudan have repeatedly voiced concerns over its impact on downstream water flows. The Nile reportedly provides approximately 97% of Egypt’s supply of fresh water. Both Cairo and Khartoum fear that upstream water retention could severely affect agriculture and water security in their countries.

Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals rules for Mike Lindell over $5M election fraud contest

“Fair or not, agreed-to contract terms may not be modified by the panel or by this court,” U.S. Circuit Judge James Loken said

An Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals panel ruled for MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell in his lawsuit to avoid paying $5 million to a software developer who competed in an election fraud contest.

The three-judge panel unanimously decided on Wednesday that an arbitration panel exceeded its power by changing unambiguous contract terms to award the developer the $5 million prize.

In 2021, Lindell hosted a “Cyber Symposium” in South Dakota where he showed data that claimed there was Chinese election interference in the 2020 presidential election, The Hill news outlet reported. Lindell offered $5 million to whoever could prove the data was “unequivocally” not related to the 2020 election.

Robert Zeidman, a software developer, produced a 15-page report rebuffing Lindell's data. However, the judges for the challenge "concluded Zeidman had not provided sufficient proof that the data was not unequivocally election data and denied his claim for the $5 million reward," according to the appeals court's ruling.

As allowed by the contest's rules, Zeidman brought the dispute into arbitration, and the arbitration panel unanimously ruled in his favor following a hearing.

"The panel concluded the contract requirement that participants 'unequivocally' prove that the cyber data provided was not 'related to the November 2020 election' was unambiguous and Zeidman unequivocally proved the cyber data was not 'packet capture data,'" the appeals court wrote.

Zeidman then asked a district court to affirm the arbitration panel's decision to award him the $5 million, which Lindell fought.

"We conclude that the panel effectively amended the unambiguous Challenge contract when it used extrinsic evidence to require that the data provided was packet capture data, thereby violating established principles of Minnesota contract law and our arbitration precedents. Accordingly, we reverse the grant of Zeidman’s motion to confirm because 'the arbitrators exceeded their powers,'" according to the appeals court's ruling.

“Fair or not, agreed-to contract terms may not be modified by the panel or by this court,” U.S. Circuit Judge James Loken, a George H. W. Bush appointee, wrote in the opinion.

Circuit Judges Lavenski Smith, a George W. Bush appointee, and L. Steven Grasz, a Donald Trump appointee, ruled with Loken.

The judges instructed a lower court to immediately wipe the $5 million arbitration award or conduct further proceedings in accordance with the appeals court's reversal.

Lindell told The Hill that the lawsuit was a “setup.”

“This is vindication. This opens a door that no man can shut. I am so excited. I mean, this is an answer to prayer,” Lindell said.

Zeidman's attorney, Brian Glasser, defended the arbitration decision to The Hill.

“Your readers can judge for themselves if the Eight Circuit’s decision today is more persuasive, or rings in truth louder, than the unanimous contrary decision of three arbitrators who heard all the evidence, including one appointed by Mr. Lindell,” Glasser said.

New Russia Hoax 'Strike Force' Is the Deep State’s Worst Nightmare

The Deep State must be shaking in its boots with the Department of Justice’s latest move: the announcement of a new task force devoted to investigating what is now known as the Russia Hoax.

After years of frustration and obfuscation, the DOJ, led by Attorney General Pam Bondi, is throwing the full weight of federal law enforcement behind a sweeping probe that could irreversibly alter the country’s political landscape.

“Today, the Department of Justice announced the formation of a Strike Force to assess the evidence publicized by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and investigate potential next legal steps which might stem from DNI Gabbard’s disclosures,” the Department of Justice said in a statement released Wednesday. “This Department takes alleged weaponization of the intelligence community with the utmost seriousness.”

This isn’t just another commission or advisory group destined to fade into obscurity. The new Strike Force is a rapid response team created specifically to tackle the explosive revelations presented by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.

“The Department of Justice is proud to work with my friend, Director Gabbard, and we are grateful for her partnership in delivering accountability for the American people,” Attorney General Pamela Bondi said after the formation of the Strike Force. “We will investigate these troubling disclosures fully and leave no stone unturned to deliver justice.”

No more symbolic hearings or limp-wristed “fact-finding missions.” The DOJ is on record saying accountability will be delivered, and soon.

The documents released so far by Gabbard are nothing short of explosive. They reveal that Obama’s inner circle — including figures like James Clapper and John Brennan, and led by Obama himself — helped orchestrate a political hit job disguised as an intelligence assessment. According to the files, a high-level meeting in December 2016, led by Obama’s top national security brass, laid the groundwork for carefully timed leaks to the media, pushing the claim that Russia had hacked the election, even though intelligence assessments conducted before the election found no such evidence.

Gabbard directly accused former President Barack Obama and senior officials of orchestrating a fraudulent intelligence assessment to tie Donald Trump’s 2016 election to Russian interference. She also confirmed that whistleblowers are stepping forward, and with every new piece of the puzzle, the urgency and scale of this mission only grow.

“The evidence that we have found and that we have released directly point to President Obama leading the manufacturing of this intelligence assessment,” Gabbard declared. As she confirmed, there are “criminal referrals” stemming from these findings. The DOJ’s swift response leaves no doubt: They’re done playing defense. There’s no more time for hand-wringing or endless debate about whether the charges are plausible. The game has changed.

This move signals that the era of empty rhetoric and institutional evasion is over. No longer can key players hide behind carefully worded denials or assume immunity by status. The Strike Force is now the sharp end of the spear, committed not just to uncovering what happened, but to delivering real consequences.
