nope. At this point they have dug in, and they chose this - they continue to have a choice, hence the walkaway movement which is apparently working. I was brought up in the same socially engineered environment, and I can see what's happening. They are blinded by greed, ambition, the "right" friends, and having the right house and car. I know. I work with them, I see them every day in my life. Their actions and lives are as shallow as their thinking because it serves their interests to be that way.
